State of the Union Thread
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) Oh this is soooooooooo typical of them. Bush sucks..........Bush sucks........Bush sucks........ That is soooooooooo typical of the "out party". The GOP tossed a lot of mud at Clinton, in case you forgot. The business of politics isn't much different from either party.

Brett Favre leaning toward retirement
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 03:50 PM) But shouldn't the "biggest player in the game" show a little more respect for the "biggest event" in his game? Shouldn't the "biggest player in the game" including a Super Bowl victory, know what is expected and accepted from a player during this time? Maybe, even more than fans on a message board? I haven't heard any players complaining.

Poison of choice
QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 12:33 PM) I call it a bus driver, but that's just me. Of the poll choices, I'd have to go with Jager or Other. As I said in the other recent booze-related thread, I love C2H5OH in all its wondrous forms. Out of curiosity, Tex, how do you drink your Pimm's? With lemonade or a classic Pimm's cup? And are you the only one in your little slice of heaven who drinks it? Pimms and soda usually. And yes, I am the only one around here I know that even heard of it.

Bull charges spectators
I attended a bull fight in Mexico. I appreciated some of the pagentry and the athleticism of the bull fighters. Then at some point, I realized the slaughter that was about to happen, and it didn't seem so cool anymore.

From the Bull Charges Spectator thread QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 08:21 AM) "Hey, these are REALLY good seats.......WHAT THE f***??!!?!?!?!?!!!!" The news reported later that night that the bull who charged the stands was a White Sox fan named El Toro Ligue....- Bull charges spectators

QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 07:55 AM) Because the average citizen really has no idea what the Fed does, so therefore they don't care about him. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 08:10 AM) So therefore our reps and senators shouldn't either? citizens don't care = no impact on election no impact on election = no interest from officials Amazing how that works And SS, I agree with you, this will have more impact on the average American than a Supreme Court Justice.- Poison of choice
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 08:01 AM) Tangueray. I'm a gin and tonic guy. I was a Beefeater guy. I use to drink regularly with a coworker who prefered Tangueray. If the server switched them, we both would know instantly and just slide them across the table.- Brett Favre leaning toward retirement
QUOTE(thedoctor @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 05:46 PM) he could just as easily said no comment. Then he isn't fan friendly. Leagues want players to be good to the fans through the media. They fine players for not reporting for manditory media days etc. It's a no win for Favre.- Bull charges spectators

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 07:24 AM) I know. It's been a bad month. I'm going to press my luck and go for 5. As an out of towner, they could paint those seats pink, and I'd love to be able to sit in them a couple dozen times a summer, like I use to.- Dude Where's My Party
- Feith Stalls Prewar Intel Inquiry... Somehow
I wonder sometimes if Presidents (Dems and Reps) are given too much respect and aren't challenged enough by their staffs. I always thoght Powell was an outstanding person and leader, if he had to wait until he was heading out the door to speak candidly, then IMHO there is a problem. And I am certain it isn't just this President, I believe it is all Presidents.- God registers to vote
