January 31, 2006 NOTE FROM CHRIS: This bird will sing. But what kind of songs? The Top 8 Jack Abramoff Revelations 8> He, too had an affair with Paula Abdul. 7> Once he got so wasted at a party he tried to bribe himself! 6> He's really tired of people suggesting that "Jack Abramoff" is what guys named Abram get at brothels. 5> Tom DeLay likes his money in small bills stuffed into his g-string. 4> He can never remember which Senator is Schumer and which one is Specter, so he routinely gives them both $50,000 "just to be sure." 3> Despite his best efforts, he cried at the end of "Forrest Gump." 2> Snap and Crackle's contributions to legalize gay marriage. and the Number 1 Jack Abramoff Revelation... 1> Abramoff's the GOP's favorite Jew since Jesus. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 09:46 PM) For me its Jack straight, Jack and coke, Jack with beer for a chaser.............. Jager is a close second to me but nothing compares to Jack. Somehow I expected that post coming from Rex, not Nuke. Don't ask, don't tell I guess.- Poison of choice
BTW, another excellent summer drink is- Poison of choice
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 07:58 PM) Don Julio is kinda harsh. Yeah Tequila became trendy much like cigars and martinis, but I always have been and always will be a Tequila lover. Cazadores neat or mixed? I like a chaser of Squirt and just sip the taquila at room temp.- Poison of choice
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 07:47 PM) Cazadores Tequila or Patron Tequila. Cazadores is relatively inexpensive and so smooth you can sip it out of a glass. Don Julio tequila is my other favorite. Neat, with a chaser. Patron was nice until that damn song made it chic to order. Kind of like being a Sox bandwagon jumper.- Poison of choice
Vodka or Herradura Seleccion Suprema tequila (waaaaay to expensive for everyday)- Capital Punishment
QUOTE(minors @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 07:21 PM) Here is some interseting facts Counties won Bush 2642 Kerry 483 Square miles of counties won Bush 2.54 million Kerry 592,000 Crime Rate per 100,000 of area won Kerry 13.2 Bush 2.9 The numbers speak for them selves And Bush's popularity has dropped well below those levels. I guess half the US population doesn't matter Keep looking at your pretty pictures. Do you think Bush won those areas by 90-10 margins? All those areas were razor thin, and he has squandered that popularity. 49% of Americans did not vote for Dubya what does that tell you? If Ohio goes to Kerry, he's President. Does that tell you how close it really was? Please don't insult the people here that have brains and the ability to reason.- Capital Punishment
QUOTE(minors @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) And finally the public has caught on just look at the 2004 electoral map only small pockets where the liberals still control. LMAO, 49% the population voted for Kerry, so your small pocket argument is laughable. If that really meant anything the GOP would have folded their tent after Clinton's reelection. Keep dreaming. What would please me is if people would respect human life enough to never kill anyone, under any circumstances. Who is it detering?- coca-cola bringing back glass bottles
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 11:50 AM) I want them in the vending machines again! If you have ever had it with the cane sugar instead of the corn syrup, you know that it is actually WAY better in that version, which is also the true old fashioned way of making the stuff. I was looking at an old picture recently, and in it was the old stubby glass bottles you used to be able to buy, with the foam outside label and the metal twist caps. I had all but forgotten about those! When I was working in Mexico, I couldn't figure out why the Coke tasted different. What is interesting is the Mexicans wanted me to bring US coke with me, and some of my neighbors wanted me to bring Mexican Coke back. I had a trade going for months.- what kind of booze have you soured on?
The first time I had Seagrams, I got so drunk I begged this girl I was out with to pleeeease stick her fingers down my throat so I could puke. 28 years later, I can enjoy a Gin & tonic, a extra, dry martini, Stoli with a couple olives, great, good, bad, and ugly tequila, but never put whisky near me. :puke- Capital Punishment
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 06:27 PM) Very simple. Killing the innocent is wrong. Killing the guilty is justice. I'm curious, if an innocent person is put to death, would you charge anyone with murder, or would you rack it up to a mistake, no harm, no foul?- Brett Favre leaning toward retirement
The entire sports world must stop for two weeks out of respect for the Super Bowl. The public can only care about one thing at a time. We want 24/7 Super Bowl coverage. Let's hear about what some obscure lineman eats for breakfast. Damn, NBA playing games. The NBA even orchestrated the Artest trade/no trade/trade to steal the limelight. OMG! WHY ARE WE EVEN TALKING ABOUT THIS? THERE'S A SUPERBOWL IN A FEW DAYS!!! STOP ALL OTHER FORUMS I think most people can pay attention to more than one story. I can't believe there has been any Super Bowl story that you are missing because a HoF QB is contemplating retirement.- Capital Punishment
It is hard to measure deterents. Since it is causing people to not do something, who really knows how many would have if the deterent wasn't there. You also have to assume that the appearance or lack there of, is the only factor. There are other factors in murder rates, poverty, battles for drug "turf", etc. Anyone of those changes and that may have a bigger impact than the penalty for murder.- Brett Favre leaning toward retirement
I'd love to see him traded to a upper tier team for a final trip around the league. But I don't blame him for not wanting another season in GB. And I appreciate a city the size of GB keeping a team and doing that well financially.- The Birdman is suspended from the NBA
If we was averaging 27 a night, he'd still be around. The league loves to find a mid range, somewhat known player, and look tough on drugs. I wonder if he can get a book deal and appear on Oprah?- Thome in the AL
I'm more concerned about health and any changes to his off season routine that may have occured. That may cause a slow start before adjusting to pitchers. And remember, they have to adjust to him as well. I'll take a HoF hitter adfjusting faster than a run of the mill 3-4-5 starter.- Who will win the second lefty reliever job?
This one will be a battle. It's the number two lefty, not critical, but every spot is important. I'm guessing Ozzie goes with his gut and doesn't pick Munoz.- Who will win the last outfielder spot?
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 04:26 AM) I rather see Joe Borchard make with us. Yep, it's his to lose.- Capital Punishment
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 05:08 AM) There is a concept that many people live by. You don't see it too much on liberal side of things, YAS, that really isn't fair. Liberals want to responsibility for many things, some of which isn't theirs. Example, let's take care of ANWR and the wildlife in it. Let's take care of murderers until God calls them home, or not. Let's as a nation take responsibility for our poor, not abandon them. Let's take responsibility for our nation's elders, through a strong social security program. Let's take responsibility for our Troops, not just wave flags and cheer as they go off to die. Let's work to bring them home and out of harms way as quickly as possible. You've made many good points, this one is not one of them and shows a complete lack of understanding liberals. Caring and taking responsibility for others are core priciples.- Capital Punishment
One thing I don't understand is how conservatives can be for the death penalty but on the same hand be against pro choice. The Vatican teaches a consistent ethic in life, Pro-Life and Anti-Death Penalty. Makes sense to me.- Capital Punishment

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 06:16 PM) I think its also pretty messed up that you're comparing us to the Hussein regime when they tortured and killed people for no reason other than to satisfy their own sadistic urges. I'm not certain that is true. They decided what were serious crimes against their country and got tough on them. Isn't the concept the same? Strong law and order, they shut up protestors, they followed strict fundementalist religous views. They concept is the same, they just stretched the boundaries. Read through a list of countries that kill their citizens and then read through a list of countries that don't. Then you tell me which list you want to be on. - Poison of choice
