QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 20, 2005 -> 09:13 AM) That ought to make Hollywood happy. I'm back to the Hammer. A strong Texan to look terrorists in the eye and say Bring It!

QUOTE(CubsSuck1 @ Aug 20, 2005 -> 12:33 AM) Hilary needs to quit b****ing about violent video games 'corrupting' America's youth and find a real cause. Throw in violence in tv, music, movies, etc. and she's getting closer.

GRRRRINDERBALL v. Yankees 8/20/05 Game Thread!
Texsox replied to Cerbaho-WG's topic in 2005 Season in Review
Prediction time: Big offensive night. I'm thinking 4 maybe 5 runs -
Hawk is paid by the Sox and acts like it. To provide balance, I'd like to see him work a game with Mr. Jay Mariotti.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) No fighting from me. I respect Tex too much through these boards to want to "fight" with the guy. I just don't agree. I think the death penalty can serve it's purpose, and this is one of those cases. I think we are too ready to pull the trigger, but in a case such as this where there is absolutely no doubt, and the only questions are "could he have killed more?", then he is the prime candidate for the death penalty at the same time as sentencing. No tax dollars, no appeals...no nothing. Poof. I think there is a definite unfairness as to who gets it and who doesn't though. That guy that killed a cop in the heat of a hold-up is going down. But this festering ass-boil will live off the states tax dollars until he dies a natural cause. Only common sense tells you it should be the other way around. The death penalty has always been lopsided and uneven. I don't think we should give our government the right to decide who should live and die. With too many errors being exposed in our legal system, I can't trust our system. And I always respect a well thought out and presented opinion so no fight from me.

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 01:30 PM) Perhaps celebrate by getting a new tatoo!!

I love a couple of wild and crazy guys going at it

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) McCain/Fiengold Get er done. McCain/almost any leading Dem would be the sexiest match up ever. I'd even pass on Hammer for a McCain ticket. I have such a man crush on him But the Hammer would be awesome for finishing the division in this country. Just smash through and say WTF, so we're divided, your side lost, get over it.

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 12:35 PM) Brain and surprise are complete opposites. Keep in mind his way of proposing was by shoving me into a jewelry store and telling me to pick a ring lol. Almost as good as I did. April Fools Day in Hawthorne Shoping Center Parking Lot.

I never, never, never, would have called you at work and said the rings arrived. Far better to plan a surprise. you have got to teach that boy. Remember, men are like carpet, lay them right the first time and you can walk on them forever.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) I respect your viewpoint, but I can't fully agree. Once someone does things as heinous as he did, with a complete lack of regard for anyone's feelings, then his life is meaningless and his existence helps no one. If that was my daughter hanging I honestly could do anything and everything to avenge her. I can fully understand your desire for revenge. But is revenge a moral reason for murder? I think we would be more sympathetic to revenge than sexual gratification as a motive, but that doesn't make it correct. And don't worry, I can't always fully agree with my stance either. I just know that state sponsored violence isn't any better than any other violence. We are fighting a war in Iraq because we disagree on who is deserving of death. Sadamm had one definition, we have another. By accepting a belief that we are all God's creatures and Thou Shall Not Kill, it makes these debates easier for me.

He is just what this country needs: Hammer Time Is it too soon to start campaigning?

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) Alright you sumb****es.... don't fight in my thread!!! See Steff is getting violent just reading about it

My opinion is grounded in a belief that all human life is precious and no one has the right to take that away. Once we accept humans ending other human's lives, we perpetuate our violence.

Energy is a big cost in my business. Starting with the 10 cylinder truck to pull the rig, two 18 hp engines buring 3-4 gallons per hour, and two diesel burners buring 1-2 gallons per hour, I notice the increases. Any company that relies on a mobile salesforce is also struggling. I'm not worried, because Bush will save us. Remember fellow GOPerheads. Let's Hammer the Dems in 2008 Another Texan to save the world.

Interesting read, which happens to support my opinion ;-)

When there are dozens or hundreds of content sites vs. one (iTunes), will that change your opinion?

I was thinking that instead of listening to fans and paid talking heads, I'd see what the professionals who are paid to set the odds are thinking, plus what people who will fork over a credit card think. here's one link Seems like either we have a chance, or Sox fans are too generous in their investments.

They will go into the playoffs with the highest odds of any AL team.

I was noticing all the new manufacturers offering portable, hard drive, media players. It appears the market is shaping up like the PC vs. Mac game. Apple continues to keep the iPod as a proprietary device versus the rest of the world. I see the iPod market share dropping into the teens within 3-4 years, if not sooner. With dozens, even hundreds of companies working on MP3 players and accessories Apple faces a major battle despite inventing the market.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:33 AM) rats, my dirty secret is out! Actually I'm an unabashed fan of pale ale, which is the blanket term for all traditional UK bitter and such as well as their quality counterparts produced elsewhere. Some UK beer snobs will use the designation only for bottle conditioned products and call cask conditioned versions bitter, but historically that dichotomy is in err. Apparently I am not a beer snob, merely a beer geek. Now, if you had called me a pisswater megabrew fan, there'd be some I'd never do that.
