  1. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Feb 4, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) Those people could have easily choked on those cookies. Then we'd have a cereal killer on our hands. Especially if they were Rice Krispy Treats
  2. I forgot about him until you mentioned it. I was more wondering how Lorne Greene was feeling.
  3. John Vernon, Ossie Davis, and ?? Celebrity deaths always come in threes? Who is it going to be?
  4. :headshake
  5. Wait until we trade for him again. He'll wind up like Baines and have three or four stints with the Sox.
  6. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 4, 2005 -> 09:23 AM) Now that this has come out are you people gonna lay off Rummy? by "you people" I assume you mean Americans?
  7. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 4, 2005 -> 09:26 AM) Common sense? If some of that would be applied in jury awards there would be no reason for this debate. The fact of the matter is that lawyers care nothing about the welfare of their clients, all they care about is getting the big awards and then taking half or more of it in fees. Nuke, your view of your fellow human is truly inspiring Are lawyers the only profession that doesn't care about their clients? Kind of like soldiers that don't care about their country, they only care about collecting a paycheck.
  8. Florida has the death penalty, they use it, and it didn't prevent this It was just a matter of time before one of these kids died. Thank God they were found first.
  9. Actually I'm predicting the Sandy Alomar trade at the deadline to bring veteran leadership and to catch Buerhle.
  10. No doubt attendance would be better. I always felt the Arlington Park site, with rail access, would have been excellent. Problem is not very many suburbs could afford to build a stadium.

OMG, I thought this was Steff Relief, and who'd want that?
  12. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 11:56 PM) Egad, a base life defiles a bad age! Oh, wait, crap... I think I wrote that backwards. (wait for it... ... ...) From Tommy Shaw Jim, Go hang a salami: I'm a lasagna hog two can play at the Palindrome!
  13. Each of the past few seasons at least a couple guys would pick the Sox, and I canot recall us being lower than 3rd. Most called it a 2-way race. I really cannot wait for ST this year to see how it all shakes out.
  14. I don't put all that much stock in what baseball experts are saying, but when we get so little love in the off season I have to reevaluate what's happened. Pitching, both starting and relief are no doubt better. Speed and defense are also up. We lost power. Lee, Maggs, Jose, gone for certain and Frank returns whenever. Maybe we haven't increased all that much.
  15. It's all about the money and exposure.

He was lousy at predicting baseball. He keeps picking the Orioles and the Cardinals.

You have to love a free market. I think YAS hit the nail on the head. I wouldn't expect The Cell to book White Sox Sux and Cry Baby Thomas to a concert series What does surprise me is the rest if the bands are playing. Tells you how tight that tour is. I am certain that everyone involved is enjoying the media attention this brings.

  19. Actually we stumbled on their Photoshop contest thread.
  20. I don't know how worried my parents were about my safety as I was growing up. I remember being 10 and leaving home in the morning, heading over to the lake for the day, maybe playing some baseball, and not seeing my parents until way later. Now, if I don't know where my kids are 24/7 I get worried. Big milestone this week. One of his buddies just got his drivers license. Ohhh crap.
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 02:11 PM) "Holy Crap!" is to good, I don't think they can match that genius. I'm looking forward to "American Dad" Seth Mcfarlin's new show which will air imediatly after the Super Bowl. American Dad I watched the preview, it looked pretty good. Seth is hilarious.
  22. QUOTE(TheDybber @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 04:30 PM) Let's wait and see what the Tigers really offered him before we say he won or lost. Cuz, if he gets close to the 5/$70 that the Sox offered, I guess he won anyway. As for winning or losing, I wonder what the arb number would've been? Can arb go more than 1 season? If it was a one year deal, and another great season, somewhere around $16 to $18. I'm guessing Boras and a healthy Maggs could have pulled in a 6 year $90mil deal.
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 01:30 PM) LOL, nice Family Guy reference. That episode was just on. I hope the new episodes can approach the old.
