  1. banning tobacco, liquor, and having people drive 40 MPH, would save the environment, save money, and save lives. Do you have any idea what percentage of violent crimes involve the use of guns vs. not? Look that up at any objective source.
  2. If I was a terrorist, I would love nothing better than seeing US resources and attention tied up in a long, involved war in Iraq. At this point if the terrorist cannot even get his ass out of Iraq, I doubt they are a threat to the US. Terrorists are quick, mobile, and lurk in the shadows. We're still trying to fight a conventional war.
  3. I am not an originalist when it comes to the constitution, I rather doubt the founding fathers could forsee atomic weapons and F15s flying overhead and thinking Jeb needs a 12 gauge to protect out country. A well regulated militia, in their day, would have been effective, today it would not be. And it is the militia members I worry the most about
  4. So you would ban all firearms including rifles and shotguns used for hunting and recreation? It doesn't seem fair to me to take away firearms from millions and millions of law abiding, honest, tax paying Americans because some people use them in commission of a crime. I know it's a nice hot button issue with the Dems. I am not a gun owner but I know many and they are sane responsible citizens. The majority of gun owners enjoy shooting, whether it is target or hunting.
  5. Happy Birthday. Anything else we can congratulate you on
  6. I spent much of the past couple years helping companies source products overseas and outsourcing. Bush has been very very good to me. I'm out of that now. I can feel better about myself.
  7. Because a well armed militia could protect us from hostile governments including our own. Mexico also has very strict gun laws.
  8. Welcome to the US where there are always checks and balances. In the US, adults cannot sign away rights of minors. For example I know of a pre-nuptial that was later updated to specifically state that if the woman wished to have a child, the father would not be responsible for child support if the marriage ended. It did and the court ruled and was upheld that the child support was for the child, not the mother, and she had no standing to negotiate away the child's rights. The father sends the checks every month. The courts have an obligation to review these matters when they are brought before the court. As a matter of law, and I4E who is a lawyer might comment, that a contract is not valid if any portion of the contract is against the law. If the school district's policy is ruled illegal, they will not have a choice but to re-admit the student. s***ty situation, it reminds me of the kid with the plastic butter knife and the girl who brought Midol from home. Both were expelled within these Zero Tolerance rules for weapons and drugs.
  9. We would all win I can tell you this afterwards Kerry would receive a Purple Heart and no one would have seen Bush.
  10. Nothing really matters, anyone can see. Too bad they just cannot cancel the balance of the season and go right into the off season.
  11. 1. Who will win (DET/CHI)? (3 points) DET 2. Which team will have more takeaways (CET/CHI)? (2 points) DET 3. Who will lead the Bears in recptions? (3 points)Terrel 4. How many INT's will Harrington throw? (2 points) 2 5. How many punts will Maynard have inside the 20? (2 points) 2 6. How many tackles for Urlacher? (3 points) 3 7. Which Jones will rush for more yards? (Thomas/Kevin) (2 points) Kevin 8. Which offensive line will allow MORE sacks? (DET/CHI) (3 poitns) CHI 9. Will Justin Gage catch a TD? (Y/N) (2 points) No 10. How many FG's for Edinger? (3 points) 3 TIEBREAKER: Passing yards for Rex Grossman. 133
  12. I love the image of the US against the world. Who needs any allies?

    chick fight

At one point it looked like the brunett was laughing. I wonder if it was staged and the punches were pulled.
  14. They all do it. Clinton did it best.
  15. Of course the SBV would tell you he didn't earn those medals anyway. So many people were very quick to believe the vets against Kerry over the vets supporting the official record. Just pointing out how blind some people are to their own candidate's human frailities and quick to tear down the opponents. I believe the person I am voting for was an alcoholic, used cocaine, used his dad's influence to avoid unpleasant situations, and probably a few more things that hasn't been discovered. He looked and acted like a spoiled rich kid. I believe he has grown up and can lead this country. Sadly, his views are closer to mine than his opponents.
  16. But so quick to believe stuff against a decorated Viet Nam Police Action Veteran.
  17. Notice the GOP didn't have any of the religious leaders on prime time? As all successful campaigns of the past 20 years have done, dive to the center.
  18. It is great to hear you are safe.
  19. No it is more "in" to be a conservative. You have all those nice radio shows to listen to, all the best sellers on the NY Times list, Fox News. It is much more trendy to be a conservative today.
  20. I think that Kerry's support will be a lot like Clinton's. People will lie about voting for Bush, then pull the lever for Kerry. I think it is a little about embarassment.
  21. I was looking at my soxtalk wall paper and we were so damn well set up if we were only 3 or 4 out.
  22. Whenever I would attend races at Road America you could always count on some idiots racing on the expressway heading home. The cops would have a field day.
