Here's an idea. Start your own business. There are going to people at every company that you might not get along with. It would be a shame if you had five years into this company and tossed them all away when a new manager comes along. Being adaptable is one way to survive in corporate America. Today he has a job, you do not. Who wins? Do that four or five times in the next year or two and it will get harder and harder to get a good job with a good company.

The reason abortion comes into it is the fear that if we allow this research how can their be laws to stop abortion? If we call these "non human" in some way it takes away from the Pro-Life position that life begins at conception. Republican platforms are against all attempts to widen abortion and generally for anything to restrict it. Thus we have noth parties IMHO, looking like dumb asses. Reps not wanting stem cell research using human cells that will not be implanted and Dems trying to defend partial birth abortions on demand. All laws that attempt to classify human cells are studied closely by the extremist in the abortion debate.

Nuke, Why not have the governmemt go into debt every year? Eventually we have to pay the debt, with interest, from our taxes. To say that public spending is somehow worse than private just does not make sense. Whether the government spends it or a private individual, it works in the economy. If my company receives a check from the US Government or Joe Blow Wholesale, it all works the same. The Governement takes in a dollar and spends it, a private individual may stash it under his mattress. As was mentioned earlier, Reagan kept spending, agreeing to Democrates demands for their programs if Reagan was to get his military spending. Then the economy boomed. Notice that government spending was not cut? If you take your government paycheck and cash it and buy a shirt it has the same impact if I cash my private company pay check and buy a shirt. Explain why the government should run up huge debts to fund a hoped for future growth. Why not run debts every year? And finally debt destroyed the USSR. Do you really want to risk the US? I was a Rep when they demanded a balanced budget. Using a Visa to pay your monthly bills doesn't cut it for a family nor a nation.

Actually if I recall correctly, that is the only sexcapade he hasn't been accused of.

It's going to be a bumpy ride into November. Dispite those polling numbers, I still believe, if the election was held last week, this week, or next week, Bush would win.

I agree it is the people behind the flag that is important, so let's get behind the flag. We are a nation of symbols, and this is one that should stand for unity. I think it represents all we agree on. Let other symbols be used to reflect our differences.

LMAO but let's be fair I'm going to Sox hell for this but . . . Those depicted are about as common at both parks. We claim their fans are clueless yuppies and they claim our fans are drunks who run out on the field and assault coaches and players. Both are unfair. I know a few Cub fans who are as knowledgable about baseball as anyone. The more they know the better I get along with them. As a kid I got goosebumps walking up the ramp into the sunshine at Wrigley. Seeing the players warming up and the Ivy was a cool sight. I thought the troughs were sick. As a kid I got goosebumps walking to my seat at Cominsky. I loved night games, and the atmosphere. The scoreboard was awesome. I remember an uncle saying Wrigley, daytime, manual scoreboard, etc. was for baseball purists and exploding scoreboards, night games, and other gimicks was for partiers. God how I dislike clueless Cub fans.

Maybe never the best, but better than most. I thought Hawk's worse move was LaRussa. I could at least see some reasoning regarding Fisk to the outfield but never LaRussa.

Do you mean he was clueless that his role as closer was in jeopardy or that he had no idea he was sucking? In that regard, I disagree. I think his quote that he "needed to get right back out there" was wishfull thinking on his part. Koch knew, regardless of Ozzie's assurances, that his roll of closer was hanging by a string. Foulke could blow two saves in one week and the Red Sox fans would be pissed, perhaps wondering what's wrong, but not calling for his head. Koch knew he did not have that luxery. His eyes were wide open, his situation was clear.

I think he's wide awake. He just doesn't have the intimidation or confidence. Other teams know he's vulnerable and they get juiced up to face him. He's done as a stud closer. He's still a middle of the pack guy, serviceable at a lower salary for a Cleveland or Montreal, but almost worthless for a contender.

I was thinking a new $200 would be better.

If I care about what YASNY, or you, or ChiSoxFn thinks about Koch, don;t you think we care what E-Lo thinks? If we care what we think about Rauch walking out, don't you think we care what Thomas thinks?

If that sort of stuff is unneccesary, then just print the box score. The reason sports are so popular is the why?. The human stuff surrounding the players. Don't ask Sammy about the cork, he'll get pissed. Don't ask Mark Grace about Sammy's cork, we don't need to know, or care to know, what Grace thinks about Sammy. We are a nation of celebrity watchers. Why do baseball players make more than a soldier who protects our ass? Because we are facsinated by them, hero worship some, and pay money to know about them. Suck it up and answer the damn questions. You can bet if he sets a record or wins a WS he'll talk about his wife's, sister's boyfriend's cat if asked. He's getting paid, in part, to represent his team and make his team financially sucessful. If he wants the bucks the fans pay, they answer the questions the fans, through the media, ask.

But we have cut vocational and other electives to "get back to the three Rs" We've also added stuff like advacned computer classes, kids in the McAllen School District can graduate from HS with certification in over 25 different fields ranging from Novell and Microsoft to Cosmotology. Those programs are in jeopardy each time we add another credit of math or science to the curriculm. Our schools, for the majority or the country, are the best in the world. You mentioned home school earlier and I wish every parent would understand, like home school parents do, that they alone are ultimately responsible for their child's education. If they contract out that responsibility to a school, public or private, they still have a responsibility to follow up and make certain what is being taught. They also need to complete the eduction process at home by teaching the rest of the stuff. Too many parents do not do that, instead they ask our school systems to teach stuff that should be taught at home. Like morals, ethics, team building, stock markets, starting a small business. I understand since the parents do not, that someone has too, but that doesn't make it right.
