  1. How can you avoid it. Baseball fans gravitate towards these kinds of stories. Imagine a game 7 Red Sox-Cubs game. I'm wondering if at some point I may cheer the unbderdog and begin pulling for them. I know I'm cheering Boston all the way and believe if I was a lifelong Texan I would probably be cheering the Cubs.

Frank is mentioned in other threads speculating on the team's roster for next year. I happen to believe the greatest Sox player of the past 50 years deserves his own thread and deserves to finish his career as a White Sox.

I hoped Maggs would be the next Thomas. Great player, regular all-star numbers, keeps the fans interested, plays out his entire career as a Sox.
  4. The Bears will be announcing a new interim coach after a 44-17 ass kicking. Cub fans will demand Dusty Baker manages both

Anyone got some tips for taking courses on-line. I have two face time classes and one on-line this semester and it seems the on-line is like swimming in jello. I also managed to crank out a 80 and 90 on open book quizes after the season was over.

Thank you, I was going through sig envy repeating to myself size doesn't matter size doesn't matter size doesn't matter size doesn't matter But DonkeyKongerko can't get rid of his avatar, she's hot
  7. I left Chicago 8 years ago after 34 years and I find it easier to not hate them when I'm not surounded by their whining fans. If they win people down here will actually come up and say nice game, you must be happy the Cubs are in the playoffs. They forget there's another team in Chicago that broke my heart this year. It's not like the Yankees, Cowboys, Lakers, and Bulls where people all around the country hate them for their success. How can you hate the Cubs if you're in Atlanta, they gave you Maddox. :fthecubs
  8. G. Damn I have to go to another Cub game with the clients. When the hell is the season over. I never remember having to go to a game in October, this sucks. Do they serve latte, are the hookers still working? What's a wild thingy? Can't they just play all the games in a day or two and get it over? My platform tennis league starts next week and I can't miss. You mean we pay "extra" for these playoff tickets?
  9. I had the same thought. It's someone close to the organization who possibly has already agreed to the coaching staff. I disagree with the just elated to have a job comment.
  10. He (KW) wants everyone to know he tried. I hope Colon is back. With a 4 year deal we'll be happy for 2, so-so for the 3rd and hate the frickin ground he walks on in the 4th. And the best part of signing Colon to a long term deal is ncorgbl will have four years of tub-o-goo material
  11. KW looking GQ! I want to nominate him for GM of the year for this move.
  12. No problem, it's also another excuse to "read" your sig
  13. Excuse me but I guess everyone is happy with our steller bullpen I'm not. We need a player who's batting .300+ along with Maggs near the top of the lineup and a closer. I'm not 100% convinced on Flash and Marte.
  14. That was the guy in the turban at White Hen. Wrong kind of manager.
  15. He'd still be better than DJ Radio would have to play a warning Listening to this may impare your ability to operate heavy equipment. Do not drive while listening to this broadcast. I do feel sad for him. He seems like such a good decent man. I'm certain he'll land somewhere and do a great job in baseball. I believe he's going to be a solid NL Manager.
  16. three or four months ago it would have been covered for sure. Now it's only interesting because finally he can finish first, as in the first manager to be fired.
  17. How about the broadcast booth Now with runners on first and seco zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

If he's not injured he's career is on a death watch. Without an organic, structural reason for his loss of velocity and resulting inability to get anyone out, he's in trouble.
  19. Happy f***ing birthday!
  20. Interesting thought. I think it also comes down to confidence on both sides. Pitchers ahve to know we suck the first time we see someone so they get pumped a little bit more and vice cersa.
  21. That was almost exactly version 3 or 4 of mine. C Johnny Bench 1B Ernie Banks 2B Pete Rose SS Alex Rodriguez 3B Mike Schmit LF Barry Bonds CF Ken Griffey Jr? I keep thinking I must have seen better RF Hank Aaron DH Frank Thomas RHP Nolan Ryan Tom Seaver warrants a mention LHP Steve Carlton I don't know if I saw him in person. Closer Dennis Eckersley

Any news on who's going under the knife? Koch? Konerko?
  23. Maybe they'll announce he's staying another season then fire him in two weeks when Torre is available. Oops, the Lions patented that one.
  24. Excellent idea. How about starting one now with the opening day lineups. Have it close in a couple weeks.
