Lets play word association Sox -- Frustration Hey works for me in my lifetime. I'm just not that frustrated the second half of this season. The first half was over the top frustrating.

This is like a horror movie. You're doing everything (winning) to get away from the monster (Twins) and the're righttherenexttoyou
  3. It is difficult to judge this when you have players breaking eye sockets of other players in a fight with no legal reprecussion. Couldn't say that was part of the game, it was practice and they are teammates. Place that on the scale and fans are getting too much time. If the leagues care about the safety of their players they should also get worked up over player on player violence.
  4. I'm sporting the B&W classic right now ~~ and proudly ~~ Ones I will never wear are the "gimmee" caps from games. And may I offer this bit of trivia. The are caps not hats. Hats have brims and caps have bills. Brims go all the way around. Think 1920's stylin' Sweep, how sweet the sound . . .

Since I usually jump in and disagree with the good man ncorgble I feel the need to give him a . I just changed my attitude of waiting for the sky to fall to enjoying this season. For most of my 35 years following this team, the season stretched from the end of basketball season to the start of football. This year I was into it from before spring training and we're fighting it out in Spetember when we could have folded the tent, waved the white flag, and began the restructuring process. No room for negativity, let's go and win the damn thing any way we can, while cheering to the end. BTW I like the really stupid opinions and b.s. that gets posted here. Makes some of my drivel actually sound intelligent. I'd have to leave if everbody else who was posting was intelligent, articulate, and knowledgable regarding baseball
  6. Most of the analysis is spot on because it's all opinion and opinions are good. I would like to see us hang onto Colon. I believe he is better than a 3 games over .500 and at least close or equal to Mark. I believe keeping Mark, Bart, and Estaban together gives us the best 1-2-3 in our division for the next 2-3 years. Let's keep our pitching together and see how the offense turns out.

Which market would you move them to? Critical fans are all over. As a rule I believe Chicago sports fans, and baseball fans in particular, are patient. If we weren't, both these teams would have folded decades ago due to lack of post season success. The fact we have supported two losing teams for over 100 years is amazing. By-the-way if you did move the team would you take your favorite "Tub of Goo" with you

MLB gives them credit for 2nd place (at least one team) it's called the wild card
  9. Thursday's Leader is Lee
  10. On Wednesday Wobbie Wocks (R. Alomar)
  11. On Tuesday Thomas is Tops!
  12. On Monday Maggs is Magnificient
  13. I'm trying to reactivate an Alpha Phi Omega chapter and looking for some un-official information. Gotta love a 40+ frat guy
  14. An old woman in a wheelchair playing center field may have ZERO errors for the season. Some of the examples given commit more errors because they are getting to balls that fall a couple feet away from our guys. Defense can't be measured just by errors. How many balls have we seen this season fall just out of reach? We are big and slow for the most part, great for home run trots, bad for Web Gems.
  15. Some things are timeless classics that will never go away. For example: :fthecubs
  16. I hated those unis in 1983, but they look better the second time around. I also love the marketing. Remember when you only wanted the currect cap? When the team changedeh the old one went into the garbage and the new one was purchased. Being caught wearing the wrong cap branded you a loser. And there was 1 official style. No glitz or graphics, you wore the one the players wore. Ahh misty water colored memories of the way we were . . .
  17. I'll agree that the head to head games will make or break our playoff chances. We aren't going to win the division without beating the Twins. I don't think we need a sweep, but we can't be swept and probably can't lose the series. Both teams are playing their best ball right now. My pessimistic upbringing in Chicago baseball has me waiting for the sky to fall I'm trying not to get to caught up in the hype for another week. Easier when the local sports talk is either ESPN's national shows of Dallas Cowboy's football.
  18. Still wish we had a better arm or two in the bullpen. I like our big three, and see some talent in our system to have a solid 4 or 5 man rotation for the next couple of years, $$$ dependent of course.
  19. DOnt be so sure. Outside of Chicago, people dont even know who Loaiza is. The sox will need to make the playoffs for Loaiza to win it. I hear his name on the all sports network, and in the papers down here 1600 miles from Chicago. Baseball people, especially those who vote know who he is and what he's accomplished this season. Another win or two especially a big one near the end of the season and he's picking up a Cy Young.
  20. Somehow they look better the second time around . . . I hated them 1983
  21. Damn With Thousands of Dollars in prizes at stake we can't have these careless, sloppy mistakes. This could cost those guys hundreds of dollars

Same numbers, one get constantly bashed, the other constantly praised. How else would you explain it? Mark has had some success in a Sox uniform, Colon not as much. That is the difference to me. I like a starting three of Mark, Bart, And E-Lo form the next coiuple of years. We have some arms coming up to fill in and make it a very solid rotation.
