  1. He asked to come out. Either he quit on us or his lack of conditioning is a problem. Once he starts to feel Chicago summers he may wish to shed a pound of two. Eilber Wood had almost the same athletic build as I dimly recall but he wasn't a fast ball pitcher. At his pace he could loaf all day.
  2. I was lookiong for some kind of beat the Sox 5-1 and they're out of it talk but non was coming. They aren't talking like front runners. They see all their problems and are trying to keep in front and pull the team together. Interesting. We're talking white flag and their talking look out.

Long lines at Barnes & Noble here. I was picking up Beowulf and Frankenstein for a course I'm taking this fall and wanted to ask if they had Potter and non Potter lines. They only had two left as I was leaving at 9:50 a.m. Saturday.
  4. You do have to admit it can't hurt to have a fresh pen. As long as he isn't burning out it is good he's chewing up innings. It's not like we have this stud bullpen we all love to see in action.
  5. Pick your quote. Winning the series sounds more like MB than winning a game. The Twins board was pretty quiet yesterday. I was lurking not trolling, wondering what their assesment was.
  6. And we make it so easy for him . . .

I'm trying to remember the last College Senior to be a lottery pick. Is it worth it to stay in college anymore?

Even if you agree to something, if later it is proven to be discriminatory or illegal in some way, the company is still responsible. Parties in a contract can not agree to break the law. You can agree to give up rights but can not agree to break a law. Using panty lines as a guide is interesting. Not to be to graphic but would they object to natural features being outlined? If someone complained could the offending party have just removed his/her panties?
  9. I'd say just about everyone who plays in New York or who sucks up to the media and plays in small markets.

Rooted for Texas last year so I'm back to back. I was all happy for Rice winning their first ever in any sport NCAA Title then saw the Stanford guys. Man losing 3 in 4 years bummer. My son was pulling for Stanford. What's up with the tree?
  11. Maybe JM and KW could put on rollerskates and . . .

Just a quick search showed that over 1,700 topics contain the word f***. No telling how many posts within those topics also contain that wonderfully descriptive phrase regarding our beloved south side team. Can you tell we're under .500 right now?
  13. I remember more his attitude. He knew he was going to win. Maybe to be a top shelf pitcher you have to be a bit of a dickead. I just found out the replacement speaker for Dibbs at the minor league All-Star Game down here is going to be Fergie Jenkins. They are selling him as an ex-Ranger pitcher.
  14. Have at it. You've now three 'alledged' #1 pitchers, one intimidated, one who quits and one we're all waiting to see if he returns to his usual. Looks as though you've some work to do. Let's go to the way back machine. Conventional wisdom said that pitching was going to be a worry but our offense was going to carry the day Hand E-Lo's record to Mark bump a game or two to Bart and we wouldn't be complaining too much about the pitching. If we scored runs like we expected, this pitching would look pretty damn good. Confidence is lacking everywhere in this organization.
  15. I have a hard time disagreeing. I just wish he had finished a season strong. It seemed his arm was rubber by September.
  16. Gammons also picked Billy Botch as a reliever he wouldn't trust. Wow! He gets money for that analysis. 100 of us sit and give that same insightfull analysis for free and months earlier

My driver's ed teacher gave us some advice that rings so true. There are three "T"s to avoid when driving anything 1. Trucks 2. Trees 3. Trains I guess Jay didn't learn that. I shouldn't speculate but the stereotypical 21 year old on that Yamaha was probably learning to wheelie when he lost control.

Gotta love loop holes. BTW HR departments hate stuff like this. No way to win for them. Then they should just keep their mouths shut! There are ways to address the 200lb ladies wearing stretch pants.. they are just spineless and refuse to do it. Morons. And almost all of those ways winds up in court. If they stop the 200 pounder in a size 8 they have to stop the true size 4. Shame really that people don't have common sense and understand proper business dress.

Sorry, I forgot we can only make fun of ScRub fans I don't believe anyone was called a Hillbilly. If we do have someone on this forum who feels they are a hillbilly I appologize and congratulate you on figuring out a computer. One of my favorite bars is named Hillbillys.

If an infinite number of monkeys typed away on an infinite number of keyboards they could produce . . . Do you think we would have more or less if we were 10 games OVER .500?

  23. I heard he will be on the ballot for the first time this year. Last year he received 7 write in votes.
