CW, No my friend was not schooled in theology and yes it scares me also. He is quite the fundementalist. Still overall he's well meaning. I love debating poloitics and religion with him. One thing I've noticed with many of this type is the need to exagerate how bad their lives were before being saved.

Let's start a game thread. 1st inning. Pick a team and let's get started. Sox are home. Why don;t we use the Tigers I think we can beat them tonight.

You are correct not everyone is a hillbilly and that is ruining the sport Hell they even let a guy fom California win a race. What do they know about running from revenuers
  5. I kow what you are saying about scorecards. As a kid I scored and collected every scorecard. I was so very sad when my mom threw them all away. I really miss the one with Ernie Banks autograph. He had hit a home run that day and I would relive the game through that scorecard. I also had the one from the first Sox game I went to after turning old enough to drink (as long as no one asked for an ID) Sounds like an awesome trip. It has me thinking of a Houston, Dallas, St. Louis, trip.
  6. Done deal in 1/4 of a heartbeat. But that deal aint happening. Just think about it, why would anyone trade 2 stud young pitchers for a DH (Valentin) and Colon? Besides, I dont see that big of a deal ever happening between these two crosstown rivalries. I can't even think of a cross town trade that involved any starters? Has there been one?
  7. That pic is priceless. That fan should be so proud.

Anyone name their pet after a Sox player?
  9. What kind of seats did you have? How about a food report? How were you treated as a foreign fan?
  10. I would hate to see the Sox lose Josh but agree he should probably look for a better opportunity.
  11. Set your expectations low and hope the team exceeds them. Wish I had followed that advice this season.

Hmm other sponsors could include Blue Cross Blue Shield "are you covered for an accident like this" Dutch Maid Cleaner "who's going to get the s*** stain out of his suit after that crash?" Crest Whitener "We can get those brown tobacco stains off his teeth" EPT "Worried that your cousin's having your baby, find out faster than a pitstop"

Adults shouldn't find the books to be as exciting as kids. IMHO they are written for the 9-13 age range. I applaud any series that could have the kids this excited. As far as the religous angle. I have a very good friend who is a youth minister and doesn't allow his kids to trick or treat, avoids fairy tails, etc. I find it to be amusing. My kids were mature enough at age 8 to figure out and understand the difference between stories like Harry Potter and our religous beliefs. I assume that most 8 year olds can as well. Teaching kids to think and differentiate will do more to instill a sense of being and religion than hiding Harry Potter from them. Can you imagine this conversation "Daddy, do you really believe Nancy is going to hell from reading Harry Potter? Then all my friends are wrong."
  14. I can't believe your wife and my girlfriend look the same!
  15. He's waiting for "the phone call" and wants to be ready? He digs the pimples and shriveled dick? Chicks love his mood swings? He's just one mixed up stupid ex-jock with no sense of worth outside of hitting baseballs?
  16. You would think when he's sitting at 3-10 on the season he would have bigger reasons to want to win than the fact it would help "his" team. Comments like this can come back to haunt him like next season if MLB decides to create an "instant rivalry" like Sox-Cards. Hope he gives 100%. He claims no other player mentions they pull for their hometown team. Well Dah Mark, do you think there's a good reason for it? He opened himself up for criticism.
  17. After your Cubs pick I am so glad to see you picking the Twins
  18. I'm hoping Sandy can help in the clubhouse. I have absolutely zero reason for believeing this but I think he can help with a winning not whinning attitude. Am I misled?
  19. Does this mean he isn't coming back to the Sox?

Rice has an awesome staff this year. They need to get off to a better start than down 2-3 in the first inning. Gotta love an old school manager still out their coaching third. Go Owls!

Way back when I took the Motorcycle Safety Institute driver safety course the instructor quoted a stat that something like 50% of college kids will crash their new sportbikes in the first week of ownership. I wonder how long he'd been riding? If not inexperience any word on what may have contributed to the accident?
