Beat the Twins like Everyone Else (Twins YNOT)
OMG did I suck on the tiebreaker. I lose to everyone on a tie. I was thinking a 5-3 kind of game. E-Lo rocks

VASC sure has it together
s*** they'll notice PK before E-Lo

Shouldn't this be locked after the start of the first game?

It takes a while for the news to reach the east coast.

Jon or Judy Garland vs Cy Mays
I get Joe and Billy confused It's Joe Mays the pitcher ~and~ Billy Mays the pitchman

Some people don't understand rivalries
I don't have a problem with his selection either. I just couldn't believe 1600 miles from Wrigley so much love for the ScRubs. They might have come looking for me if I mentioned his problem with customs.

Roll call for the Cubs series
I'll be at my computer hoping they're not blacked out, with my Cub fan friends on speed dial. Too bad my phone line went down last Sunday

Something to keep an eye on
We got to the game about midway through the brawl. My first words were "who did VanDorp deck?" As I remember the game ended sometime after midnight with hours of penalties. I couldn't even tell you who won or what the score was but I do recall gloves all over the ice. I vaguely remember my dad convincing my mom to let me sleep in and miss half the school day because, well, i didn't get to bed til like 1 something From what i can remember, that game was the roughest i've seen...it was unbelievable The first official fight began :53 into the game. I know because I won the bet. I picked under 1:00

Relief Pitching Could be the Key
Just a thought YMMV E-Lo has been the sudden surprise that playoff teams always seem to have. That someone who comes out of nowhere and has a career year. I'm beginning to think that for us to contend, someone from our bullpen is going to have to catch fire. If say Flash looked to be a strong 2nd half closer, we could deal Koch for a hitter and make a move. Standing pat isn't going to make it and we're going to have to give up pitching to get a hitter (read not a slugger) My hunch is Flash is going to be a big factor in our season.

Billy Koch
I'm wondering if the BoSox would be interested in Billy or even Marte. Seems like we could package something there.

Palmeiro
Excellent point. We could use a guy hitting .300+ right now more than a power hitting first baseman.

Hell it would be fun if, for nothing less, than all the viagra jokes. Besides we need another 1st baseman / DH candidate. Can't have too many of those. He's not the missing piece of this puzzle but a nice addition. His history indicates he enjoys a change of scenery. His best year with the Orioles was his first and his best year with the Rangers part II was his first. The only team to dump him after his best season was the ScRubs.

Pitching and Defence
This was basically posted on May 1st, May 15th, June 1st, June 10, etc. Just when you think they figured out how to score they go back into the s***ter. IMHO when the offense finally comes around the pitching is going into the toilet. Then the big finish with a month left that leaves us just short. After 30+ years as a Sox fan, been there, seen that.

I thought once WGN stopped beaming into every manufactured home park in the world the ScRub stuff would die down. These old f***s who drink every afternoon were really riled up.

Some people don't understand rivalries
Big news in my little city. Fergie's coming to town. No not the English royalty, but the HoF pitcher from the Phillies, Rangers, and some other team in the midwest. Turns out he's here to promote the Central Professional Baseball League's All Star game. The guy on the radio is reporting how Fergie is trying hard to start a minor league in Canada. I replied his love of minor league baseball was because he enjoyed playing for the Scrubs in Chicago. Damn. There are way too many Scrub fans in Texas. I was flammed for 2 hours. How dare I criticize a fine man like Fergie. The Astros have got to get their marketing boys cranked up down here.

No he tended to "unwind" after the game with various non subscription medications. Usually cocaine and alcohol. Nothing like blowing a .20+ on the meter and having cocaine in your system to make the drive home happy. The team figured this was a way to at least keep it out of the papers and hopefully under the league's radar. A friend of mine was working for his agent and it was the talk of the office. The agent figured it was in his client's best interest (and his long term) but the player was not happy.

oh wtf...nascar nextell???
I was at a race in Milwaukee when one of the guys brought this mad scientist radio setup. At first I thought WTF, he's a computer geek. Next race I was wired Too bad many of the teams are now going to lengths to stop the eavesdropping.

I saw one where the player was required to be picked up and driven home by team personnel for all practices and games. Seems the player had had some traffic issues after a hard day at work
