  1. An expansion team would reach the playoffs faster.
  2. That's the funniest s%*# I've read here in a while
  3. I think we'll all know where we were when that happens.
  4. I was surprised to learn he actually had a losing record. 3731 - 3948 By modern standards he probably would have been fired in 1908, definitely in 1915.
  5. He was gone before he really had a chance but Pedro was on pace to break Connie Mack's all time managerial loss record. That's right, the winningest manager also had the most losses.
  6. Waiting until the end of the season is exactly what should be done. For that matter waiting until after the WS would be even smarter.
  7. Here you go * Skip Schumaker is a strong candidate with recent managerial experience and potential availability. * A.J. Pierzynski is a familiar face with a strong personality who could bring excitement. * Sergio Santos is a rising star in the coaching ranks with early success. Other potential candidates include John Gibbons and Chris Fetter. Ultimately, the best choice depends on the White Sox's priorities and vision for the future.
  8. Statistical regression. You can't be the absolute worst team in the history of the game and repeat. Even the Sox can't pull that off.
  9. Improve? Sure. I see them winning at least 40 next year.
  10. We're really just cheering for the uniform at this point. Who cares who is wearing it?
  11. I want a computer. Let's skip all this human baseball b.s. and find a programmer who will just use modern data. I'd prefer a PC/Android combination but Apple products might be a better fit for the players and the videos won't be fucked up when they are shared.
  12. Being out of the game for years is generally a criteria. Either being passed over or not actively looking to be a manager, is something JR values. Toss in JR lamenting that "letting him leave was my second biggest mistake" would be icing on the turd.
  13. Bobby Cox, another HoF manager is available.
  14. Play bad, get moved. It started with a manager who managed bad until they released him.
  15. Greg, are you calling yourself a cynic? I'm digging the third person reference to what I still believe is your puppet.
  16. I wish more people really understood how un-American police action like this is and how bad it is for our country.
  17. I'm glad to see they aren't rushing him into the lineup. I hate to laugh at someone's career drying up but how can you take this organization seriously?
  18. Agreed, they will need a good manager in three to get them to five.
  19. I'm glad the team worked with him to find a situation where he has a better chance for success. I was reading this is the first #1 overall pick to win his debut game at QB since 2002. I think that highlights that instant success isn't really a thing in the NFL.
  20. It seemed like last season we were snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, it's nice to see them win one they should have lost.
  21. The next guy will also be a placeholder who will have to buy into whatever player development scheme the organization is pushing. Here's a guy that JR might want to take a look at -- Bobby Cox. JR seems to like bringing back Hall of Fame managers LOL He's probably 80 years old by now. They could swap stories about the days before electricity and night games.
