We're really just cheering for the uniform at this point. Who cares who is wearing it?

Sox "gathering names" in MGR search
I want a computer. Let's skip all this human baseball b.s. and find a programmer who will just use modern data. I'd prefer a PC/Android combination but Apple products might be a better fit for the players and the videos won't be fucked up when they are shared.

Sox "gathering names" in MGR search
Being out of the game for years is generally a criteria. Either being passed over or not actively looking to be a manager, is something JR values. Toss in JR lamenting that "letting him leave was my second biggest mistake" would be icing on the turd.

Bobby Cox, another HoF manager is available.

9/9- Sox vs Guardians, 6:40
Play bad, get moved. It started with a manager who managed bad until they released him.

Greg, are you calling yourself a cynic? I'm digging the third person reference to what I still believe is your puppet.

I wish more people really understood how un-American police action like this is and how bad it is for our country.

Colas still not ready yet
I'm glad to see they aren't rushing him into the lineup. I hate to laugh at someone's career drying up but how can you take this organization seriously?

Skip Schumaker — Sox 1st choice at manager
Agreed, they will need a good manager in three to get them to five.

I'm glad the team worked with him to find a situation where he has a better chance for success. I was reading this is the first #1 overall pick to win his debut game at QB since 2002. I think that highlights that instant success isn't really a thing in the NFL.

It seemed like last season we were snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, it's nice to see them win one they should have lost.

We know #1 is true, why not both?

The next guy will also be a placeholder who will have to buy into whatever player development scheme the organization is pushing. Here's a guy that JR might want to take a look at -- Bobby Cox. JR seems to like bringing back Hall of Fame managers LOL He's probably 80 years old by now. They could swap stories about the days before electricity and night games.

Could we Match (or beat) Phillies from 1938 - 1942?
Phillies had a truly craptastic stretch from 1938 to 1942 1938 - 45 wins 1939 - 45 wins 1940 - 50 wins 1941 - 43 wins 1942 - 42 wins Could JR be setting his sights on something beyond anything we've seen?

With his defense, what does Fletcher have to bat to be a good everyday Right Fielder next year?
I'm guessing anyone with a pulse and who is healthy*enough* will be a front runner at each position.

If Money Ball taught me anything clinging to any past assumptions will cause you to miss out on opportunities and you'll never be the innovation leader. But he'll never be a good choice as an everyday corner outfielder.

USA Today headline: Dodgers pulled a heist getting Kopech from the Sox for no key prospects
I know we all wanted to keep him and build a pen around him. We would have agreed if Getz and Pedro said he was so close to being lights out and he just needed a little more time. I'm outraged that with teams lined up offering a king's ransom for his services that Getz took the lowest offer.

Skip Schumaker — Sox 1st choice at manager
The next guy will only be around for two years (Doug Collins type) then we need to be attractive enough for a (Phil Jackson) type.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
I agree. Especially on a state or county level.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
The political calculation is will you lose more votes if the Sox leave the city, or you finance a stadium. Also you have to calculate the odds of them actually leaving.

Will the Sox prioritize Moncada over youngsters?
Those teams and teams with even worst records are already playing in September. Look at the schedule the next couple of weeks. Do you want to drop or keep the shittiest of the shittiest teams playing? The playoffs are just a way to cut crappy teams, consolidate TV viewing, and keep selling tickets by reigniting interest. Otherwise they could just declare a winner after 162 games.

Will the Sox prioritize Moncada over youngsters?
Sure. It's still in the 90s here, I forget the season is about over. Gotta get them some experience and every game counts. Plus evidently some fans still care who is playing. Other than that, who would care what most of the teams are doing? I wish they would add another round of playoff and end the season at 154 games.
