  1. Why? As a lifelong member of the other team I look at Trump and thing, wow, he does not reflect 75% of the Republicans I know. I don't see him as a reflection at all. What I worry about are Republicans deciding that he's their guy and that is the direction the party should be going.
  2. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 4, 2016 -> 11:42 AM) Just booked our summer vacation this year...4 nights in Dublin then 5 nights in London in July. Nice.
  3. The traditionalists and the futurists will battle about baseball for a long time.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 4, 2016 -> 10:40 AM) What does he do for USAA? He is a manager in the new member group. One of his best friends is on the banking side. They both where hired after earning their MBAs. I can't say enough about what a great company it is to work for.
  5. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 4, 2016 -> 10:00 AM) The race at the track this weekend is slightly bigger than a claiming race. You may have heard of it. How did you come to own two horses?
  6. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 4, 2016 -> 09:24 AM) I personally think Cruz should have been forced to carry his campaign the full term. He has a history of shutting down rather than working.
  7. Could you image seven inning games instead?

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ May 4, 2016 -> 08:25 AM) From blowup dolls to soccer balls. I approve of this switch.
  9. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 3, 2016 -> 11:25 AM) So as of 5pm yesterday I own two houses. Hopefully not for very long. Claiming race at the track?
  10. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 4, 2016 -> 08:17 AM) Ted Cruz knew he was going to have to fire a bunch of people very soon, and he picked the right person for the job! Even though trump essentially has the nomination locked up at this point, there could still be some interesting shenanigans at the convention over the party platform and the VP nomination. Delegates are unbound for both of those, and Cruz did manage to weasel in a lot of his supporters.
  11. BTW Those cities and areas that are struggling can be great places to visit. Tap into the local energy. The people who love their towns and are fighting to bring them back to life. It won't be chains, it will be good people pouring their lives into the effort. I'd stop in Cleveland in an instant. Great music in the clubs.
  12. QUOTE (dasox24 @ May 3, 2016 -> 10:50 PM) I meant to quote your lyrics and this is not related to a vacation... but I'm seeing Huey Lewis & the News in 2 weeks. So pumped. My son works for USAA. They hired Huey Lewis & The News to play their Christmas party at the Alamodome. He made the comment, I have no idea who this band is, you probably have heard of them . . .
  13. http://www.politics1.com/p2016.htm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States..._election,_2016 Anyone interested in taking a third party and writing a summary of their platform and the candidates?
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2016 -> 08:33 PM) To be fair, we don't expect anything else Thank you. I expected you to say you don't expect anything more.
  15. Who wants to go back to the minors? I believe he's done.
  16. It's sad when an athlete's career ends on such a low note. If the team was sub .500 he keeps on pitching and chucking it up there and getting toasted like a pop tart. I'm sorry to see the Danks that was trotting out there this year.

    Short Sale Question

QUOTE (shipps @ May 3, 2016 -> 02:19 PM) It was purchased to be primary home but she started renting it out once she got married and bought a bigger home. The value of the condo isnt projected to rebound any time soon at all. At least 5 years from now maybe more until she can get her purchased proce. She did not have an agreement with the bank on a certain price going into the market. Although the hang up doesnt seem to be the selling price as much as it is the lack of extreme financial hardship that the bank wants to see. If nothing else works adjust your thinking that it is part of your retirement savings.
  18. I will remember him as a very good pitcher who worked his ass off to rehab after a horrific injury but just couldn't get all the way back. I feel bad for him but seriously he isn't a MLB pitcher currently.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 3, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) We don't agree on much, but we absolutely agree on this point. My exception is I view CEO pay of people who founded a company much different vs. those who become stewards of a long-time, solid company. It took me a while to get to this point but . . . I even object to founders who have employees working at poverty rates while they make millions times more. Or founders earning millions while their employees qualify for benefits like child care, food stamps, etc. At some point they have been repaid for their risk, etc.
  20. QUOTE (Y2HH @ May 3, 2016 -> 10:09 AM) Me either. And I think Bass Pro is buying Cabelas, so good luck with sports authority and dicks trying to compete. That's an interesting acquisition.

    Short Sale Question

I wonder if it being an investment home also works against your friend. A foreclosure, if necessary, is much easier if it is not the primary residence. Has your friend thought about selling shares in the house and at least spread the pain. Someone coming in low might be interested. It would at least free up some cash to invest elsewhere. What is the long term projection for value? Could the prices rebound in 2 years? 20 years?

As a desperate move to stay in the race for this year? No. Come to think of it. No.
