  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 03:26 PM) Hmmm... In a $100 million deal signed in 2006, AIG agreed to become the principle sponsor of the Manchester United soccer team. Congrats Americans! We own a big sponsorship in European soccer!
  2. I don't care. Trot out any of our starters in any order and I think they will do fine, it is the rest of the club that leaves me stunned.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 06:57 PM) Damn tex is on top of ze pop culture. Just trying to stay up with you crazy kids
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 08:34 PM) So let me get this straight...we pull our starters, but leave in our two most fragile players in PK and Griffey? If anything, get Swisher in the game and see if he can get some confidence. I've been thinking the same thing.
  5. Alright chased Moose out of the game
  6. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 08:25 PM) I know EVERYONE CARES, so I will share. I was able to just nab Price off the wavier wire in fantasy in a keeper league, so I'm thrilled. Something to cheer
  7. This is going to be such a great comeback /putting down the crack pipe
  8. QUOTE (watchtower41 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 03:03 PM) whoever left Hurt off this list doesn't deserve to be a Sox fan. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 03:09 PM) Maybe it was KW? I had him in my top 10. I can also see a fan who prefers players more like Buerhle. More outgoing, less shy, less brooding.

  10. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 07:46 PM) Yes, this is a blog, but I am linking to it because it has several links in its story from other blogs, news reports, etc. Seems the 'hacker' may be the son of a Tennesee State rep. (A Dem, if interested) And that he has had a history of mental illness (the son). http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/ Oh thank Goodness, I thought it might have been a Rep or Ind that hacked in Now I'm hoping the dad(D) used some CIA connection and his son as a cover.
  11. Hmm 1-3 in NY then 2-2 0-3 in Minny and finish up 1-2, is 3-7 enough?
  12. Nice Oz was able to get the whole f***ing team in this game
  13. Or We can't use you, but Bill Clinton is really interested in seeing what you can do to help him . . . and so is Hillary
  14. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 06:40 PM) Im assuming something like "Are you out of your f***ing mind" nicely played.
  15. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 04:59 PM) Billy Koch. Todd Ritchie. David Wells. I have mixed feelings about Billy Botch. I really do respect how he faced that adversity square, with no whining, no excuses. I disliked the way he pitched for us.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 02:24 PM) I think the big point is that going into the season, who besides Kenny Williams, actually saw the White Sox that way? Exactly, and even the most optimistic had their hopes on Konerko, Crede, and Contreras contributing at their usual numbers, not being injured. Balta, I agree. "if everyone is there", but they are not, which is why I would not call it a choke at this point and under the current conditions.

  20. Executive compensation. Earlier I posted that I would be in favor of when a company goes under, or is managed in crisis, the top company executives should receive the same as their least paid employee in compensation. Now I'm rethinking that. Here's the thing, if that was the case, could a troubled company hire the kind of top level talent that they believe they need to get out of the problem without a so called golden parachute? Perhaps there is some merit, but I'm still hard pressed to like it.
  21. It's all about keeping shareholders (now voters) happy. What worries me is politicians always gravitate towards "helping" as many people as possible. That's good for getting reelected. "Helping" in this case could mean almost anything, but I doubt it would mean making it tougher for borrows. I'm with SS, I'd rather they went home. Then, maybe, when they return a better thought out and reasoned approach could be implemented.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 01:42 PM) Next insult is getting suspended. You guys know the rules around here... And no anonymous emails, we have ways of getting them . . .
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 01:55 PM) And as for the petty part, after reading the stuff that is posted and said by a couple of people, including yourself here daily, there really isn't much room to talk. Did you just quote yourself? While I appreciate the point of view that a campaign is stuck with its supporters, I do not have a problem with a campaign excluding anyone from "helping". There are elements of both candidates support base that they are embarrassed about. So if I want my guy to be able to exclude people, I have to allow Obama to as well. Anything else, to me, would be hypocritical. And I would jump all over Obama if he had a bunch of druggies making campaign appearances for him. To me it would mean he has not learned a lesson in that poor behavior and would be yet another reason I would not vote for him. I would not consider it any sort of loyalty test.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 12:43 PM) Using something he did as a reason? That's pretty two faced. If we are trying to put those two on the same plane, I think it is a stretch. I would rather have a President who made a mistake and stopped embracing that mistake then one who said, well I did it, so I have to continue to promote that agenda. It's no more two faced than telling your kids not to drive drunk if you have done it a time or two.
