How much are Dems costing us at the pump?
What was the price of Saudi Oil in the same time frame? About half the ANWR projection.

All Things Pro-Obama
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 23, 2008 -> 08:06 AM) Maybe I just didn't pay much attention in the past but since when do candidates announce VPs before becoming the nominee? They do not, "leaning towards" I believe was the term I used. That usually is leaked. Plus, I think there would be some pressure to be upfront early. But far and away, the best reason I see is not wanting to piss off the Clintons. Perhaps they are owed some measure of respect. I see the allure, but I have serious reservations about Obama picking Clinton as a VP candidate.

Sox May 31 game will be blacked out - for the first hour!
QUOTE (shipps @ May 23, 2008 -> 09:07 AM) That is the lamest musical lineup I have ever seen. Trace Adkins is about the only current headliner on that list. But they probably do not have that big of a budget. Plus, it doesn't seem like they are trying to attract the older, retired crowd. Turn Me Lose, Can't Touch This

QUOTE (shipps @ May 23, 2008 -> 08:20 AM) This shows how serious Tampa treats their baseball team. It is sad that they need to add a music act to fill the stadium for a Saturday night game.

The concerts are tied into the game as a special promotion n Saturday Nights. See the game, stay for Kool and The Gang, Commodores, Trace Adkins, MC Hammer, Loverboy and more Believe it or don't, the Bulls use to run these same types of promotions in the 1980s when a few thousand would be a crowd. http://tampabay.rays.mlb.com/tb/ticketing/...er_concerts.jsp

All Things Pro-Obama
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 23, 2008 -> 08:38 AM) I guess I'm not sure what the wait is for. Is it so the 2 remaining minuscule states (population-wise) could be heard? Or Puerto Rico who's doesn't even vote in November? Most of the uncommitted superdelegates are from states that already voted. I would think they would make some sort of decision based on their local electorate. There are a couple reasons I could see waiting. They may want more info on who each candidate is considering for VP. What makes more sense to me is they could be waiting to see if Clinton bows out gracefully, which eliminates turning their back on the Clintons. Remember these are party insiders and owe some of the Dems success to President Clinton and might not want to be seen as hitching their cart to a new horse. You don't get to be a super delegate by winning a sweepstakes.

TalkChicagoSports.com's Top 40 Greatest Chicago Sports Players
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ May 22, 2008 -> 10:44 PM) Likewise. For my list, I took into account what they did when they played in Chicago and for long. The one and only exception, Dick Allen who of course was only here a few years. But, he revitalized a dying franchise. Wow, I thought about him as well, and for the same reasons, but in the end I do not think he was on my list. I was also thinkng about including "The Southside Hitmen" as a single entry, just like at the track.

All Things Pro-Obama
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 23, 2008 -> 07:09 AM) I'm expecting Obama to wear a T-Shirt today that reads the following: "I won the majority of pledged delegates earlier this week and all I got was these 2 stinkin' superdelegates." Nice to see the spineless Dems continue to sit on their hands. If they were bound to just follow the popular vote, they wouldn't need super delegates.

Home Brewed Java
I drink 6 cups a day, actually three mugs full. Two before breakfast, one after. I use to do the after lunch cup, but as I've gotten older, it started affecting my sleep habits and countered the affects of the heroin.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ May 23, 2008 -> 08:04 AM) Yea, I'm starting to wonder if any of you actually do any work during these "work days"? Depends. Most days it isn't much of a distraction. I'm listening to music on hold while typing this.

I just stepped on the scale still 226. I have a plan for when I move to South Padre Island for the summer.

All Things Pro-Obama
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 23, 2008 -> 07:58 AM) So now he's being criticized for accepting donations. What next? Same comment fits McCain, Clinton, and everyone else who campaigns for office. And the more money they raise, the more IOUs are out there. And knowing the process, he personally will make some calls everyday to the bigger contributors.

QUOTE (shipps @ May 23, 2008 -> 07:58 AM) Once I reached 1000 I kind of lost the fire to build up my count anymore. Those 10,000 numbers seem ridiculous and unreachable in my book. A couple years back there was a core group of SS, Steff, PA, Kap, Jim, YAS, and couple others and we basically posted our way through a work day. Gee, how things have changed. I'm certain we had a couple 100 post days. But it was more like texting then posting, if that makes sense.

I went back to Folgers a few months back after realizing I became so accustomed to the custom blend from a local coffee shop, it wasn't any better then when I was accustomed to Folgers, and Folgers was 80% cheaper. Currently it's Folger's French Roast.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ May 22, 2008 -> 09:52 PM) Chico's 25th Anniversary Expedition Bigfoot does not disappoint. I just cracked into my first one. 23 to go. Hmmm, 23 to go. Sounds like someone has no friends. Or at least no friends worthy of Chico's 25th Anniversary Expedition Bigfoot .- How much are Dems costing us at the pump?
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 23, 2008 -> 06:04 AM) At any amount, I was just saying that the economics of OPEC cutting production because someone else comes into the game don't seem to make much sense. They'd just be voluntarily giving up some of the market. They have a finite amount of oil in the ground and will eventually sell all they pump. Market share is not an issue, plus they work in agreement with other OPEC nations to determine who pumps how much. In other words, if you had 100 diamonds available to sell, would you flood the market, driving down prices and sell all 100 to gain market share? Or get together with other diamond sellers and tightly control who sells when to maximize the profits on those 100 diamonds?- How much are Dems costing us at the pump?
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 22, 2008 -> 10:25 PM) Got the email, had sent you a reply. replied again, thanks. Balta, good points. The answer always seems to come back alternatives. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 22, 2008 -> 10:17 PM) I think somewhere in there is the real amount, between his .01 cent and .62 cents. So which is it, a million barrels a day saves a penny or .62 cents? Even factoring in initial costs, it can't eat up all the difference. So which number is he exagerating? If it costs $150 for the ANWR oil, it would be worse. I have never seen an estimate that had ANWR oil for less. It was always about reducing the dependency on foreign oil, but at an economic and environmental cost. BTW-- Landshark tonight, I think it must be a Budweiser product ~~ and~~ I sent an email to your work. - The Unofficial Build Your Post Count - Thread
