Official 2011-2012 NCAA Football Thread
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 12:52 PM) Koenning offered a position to stay at Illinois. Good move by Beckman if he can get him to stay. Also VT cant sell their tickets for the Sugar bowl, solidifying why they shouldnt have been invited in the first place. Awesome, Koenning has been great for us and hopefully comes back. And hopefully we bring in a good OC.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 08:09 PM) MVC vs b10 drink off? It might be like 9 people against 1000 but we'll still win... Lol sure.... Ive heard epic things on here about your tolerance, I wouldn't mind to face off vs you, I think that'd be quite interesting.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 12:22 AM) I miss when Morena Baccarin had long hair. Short hair just looks awful on her. I think she still looks good, but yea her long hair reminds me of when she was a dime on Firefly. I think Saul has some other story that hasnt been brought out yet, that whole thing with the lie detector is just too much to ignore.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 08:00 PM) I bet he fell on a needle, which is eerily similar to the way Hamilton fell face-first into a mound of cocaine.

2011-12 White Sox off season catch all thread
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 12:40 AM) Yep. Good chance Gio is gone too. Someone has to meet that price first. I do think someone will meet the huge demands that the A's have, but it will be an overpay when it's all said and done.

2012 MLB Catch All thread
QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 12:52 AM) I still have no idea how they made the playoffs last season...I had the Jays winning more games than the Rays...they lost Crawford, Pena, their entire bullpen, and replaced everything in-house, basically. Crazy that they managed to come back and win that division, Red Sox collapse or no collapse. Proof that scouting acumen and money into development works. They may not draft top 10 anymore, and they may not have success with every top 10 draft pick, but they will find talent in the draft and get it MLB ready.

Celebrated my birthday and a roommate's birthday tonight since they both fall one month exactly apart and over breaks. Such a great excuse to get drunk, and to start with a Big Hurt Beer.

2011 TV Thread
QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 05:00 PM) Yeah I loved that show. It took it about 6 episodes to get going, but once it did, man that was quality. I wasn't expecting much from a show that was canceled after two seasons, but I really enjoyed it. I was quite impressed by the actors in the show, I didn't see a weak actor throughout. The guy who played Victor was quite talented, he portrayed those different personalities extremely well.

The past few weeks I've been watching Dollhouse on Amazon Prime, I really liked that show. Could have had another few seasons but they did well with the time they had.

The Finer Things In Life
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 09:26 AM) My advice is to concentrate on getting him something good and not just something he hasn't had. If someone gives me a bottle of something I know and love I'm a lot happier than when I get something I haven't had that ends up being not so good. I humbly suggest one of my dream Christmas bottles, Sazerac 18 Year Rye Whisky. I have not yet had the pleasure but it is universally well regarded and I'm hoping I find a bottle of it under the tree this year. Yea suggestions like these are great too!

The Finer Things In Life
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 09:11 AM) What kind of tastes does he have? He brews his own beer and goes to national conventions annually on brewing. He is a HUGE whiskey fan, he has over 10 bottles of high end whiskeys at his house, ranging from bourbons to rye whiskeys. He loves gin martinis, rums, and high end tequila. Pretty much he's an alcohol snob

2011-12 White Sox off season catch all thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 09:52 PM) Like Rios? Ozzie pretty much backed my position on Rios that got me ripped on here last year. KW asked Ozzie "why are you playing Rios when u got DeAza?" And Ozzie said, "Why did u sign Rios to begin with?" I think Ozzie played him because he earns a zillion bucks and is on the roster. That's what you do. Maybe that's the one flaw in having a former rich player be a manager. They do think like players more than front office personnel. Ozzie shouldnt care what a player makes, he should care about winning and putting the best team on the field. If anything, the GM would care more about the players making more money playing more, but KW told Ozzie not to care about that yet Ozzie still did that. Why? Because Ozzie clearly wanted to do the 180 of what KW wanted.

Dark Horse Trade Proposals
If you're a smart GM you shop everyone on your team, and you look to see if you can bait a team to overpay for one of your players. Whether that's PK, Viciedo, Ramirez, etc, if a team falls in love and gives you more value than what that player is worth to you then you make the trade.

NBA Offseason Thread
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 07:07 PM) I'm an Angel fan; Hate the Lakers though. I am excited to get to watch Pujols a lot. After getting rid of my season seats a few years ago, I'm thinking of getting in on a 20 game plan with a buddy. I'd love to watch a guy like Pujols. I would be all over tickets if the Sox signed Pujols, you don't get to see a talent like that play right in front of you too much.

NBA Offseason Thread
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 07:06 PM) it does bother me a lot that teams like LA can dump their players at will for seemingly whoever they want and make it work, but if i was a fan i would be stoked. i cant sit here and truthfully say "stupid cba was supposed to stop this!" i hope dwight falls through so the lakers are unbalanced Yea, Im not trying to say it's a good system. It's just that most posters on here are just upset that the Bulls can't/aren't taking advantage of it, which is a reasonable reaction considering the position of the Bulls.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 06:56 PM) admit it, you arent pissed it is happening. you are pissed it isnt happening to the bulls That's what I was thinking when I was reading the reactions. If the Bulls traded for Dwight, no one here but Felix would be complaining.

Buehrle Signs with Marlins | 4 yrs $58 mil
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 06:19 PM) This. I want Buehrle to go 33-0. And the Marlins win 33 games. I'd be cool with that.

Buehrle Signs with Marlins | 4 yrs $58 mil
Sad to see Mark leave, but at that price it'd be stupid for the Sox to sign him. Still, it just won't be the same without him, and I can't even root for him on that team...
