  1. QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 10:47 PM) The only thing Sox management is good at fleecing is its ever shrinking fanbase. Kenny Williams has been taken to the cleaners from west to east. I feel like half of the posters that have signed up lately are just trolls.
  2. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 07:08 PM) I hardly ever get the "newest" technology but I got a Razr yesterday. Pretty amazing phone. My 4G speeds were 18mbps download, 6mbps upload. I should get rid of my home internet for that kind of speed. Seriously, I pay $30 a month for speeds a tad slower than that for my apartment.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 05:13 PM) @sepinwall Community is being pulled from NBC's mid-season schedule. Working on story now... 20 minutes ago via TweetDeck Same goes for Prime Suspect, by the way. I have personally never seen it. Dang, it wasn't my favorite show but it was most definitely hilarious. They've had some absolute golden episodes the past few seasons.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 05:09 PM) That better happen soon, because Im willing to give up on that show just because of her. Ive never met a character so frustrating to watch before, she has had one decent scene and that was when she shot her sister, but the build up to that was even annoying.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 05:04 PM) Looks like Community's going bye-bye, pulled from the mid-season schedule. I know it didn't get a lot of love around here, especially of late it seems but I adored that show. Has this been confirmed anywhere?

Can they please write Andrea out of the script, there is at least one moment in every episode that I actually yell how much of a b**** she is to the television. Please kill her off already.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 10:55 PM) I would have stopped watching if they killed Daryl. I have hated Andrea the whole time, she is the biggest b**** on tv.
  8. That's the second Illinois football player that has been significantly hurt after an attack at a party in the last few seasons (Wilson being the other after being stabbed). What the f*** is going on down there? When I grew up in the C-U area the campus never had those problems. My guess is that more and more locals are going to campus parties and starting trouble. Champaign isn't exactly filled with prosperity at the moment, and my guess is more thugs are venturing to campus at night. We've seen a huge amount of armed robberies, assaults, etc around campus the past few years, or they are at least more public about reporting them. Oh, and if you haven't seen this video yet, check it out: Armed robbery at Espresso Royale.
  9. Illinois senior LB Henry was shot at a party last night, along with 2 other people. Apparently he was shot in the hand and had surgery on it already, but will miss the remainder of the season. It's been reported that he went to the party only after getting called to get some other football players out of it.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 05:14 AM) 30 of keystone down by myself. Ya, I'm pretty awesome... Niceeee. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 09:40 AM) Rowand, Russ, Heads, How are you guys not 300 pounds? I've always been a big guy, not that big though

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 03:40 AM) You'll admit tomorrow when you wake up that you were pretty hammered.... I see your movie every weekend, Russ Hahaha actually just fine, though Im exhausted because it's been 4 nights straight of drunkeness because of parties and family coming in town to visit campus.

Did a case race in 40 mins, had 10 of the beers (supposed to be 6 each), and then had a bottle of wine that my neighbor brought over but I drank. I should be much more drunk, instead Im just tipsy. I have tolerance issues.
  13. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 01:51 AM) Fine. And thank ya.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) Tell me about it. I graduated in '04. Green St. (other than btw 6th/Wright) was just older buildings, some small no-name restaurants/shops. Just a few years later, there is every franchise restaurant you can name, huge clothing stores, a 20+ story tower. It was crazy, I barely recognized it. Yup every trendy fast food place has moved in, like noodles and co and chipotle. Urban outfitters is down by 4th and green, and 309 E Green is a giant apartment building that is way too overpriced (starting at $800 a month per person). QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 08:23 PM) So what kind of culture shock would a Class of '89 like me have if I went back for a visit? Heck, I was devastated when I heard Deluxe closed and I couldn't go back and shoot pool and eat awesome fish sandwiches. Green St. Now I'm sure I wouldn't even recognize. My dad was class of 70 something and barely has anything left, he knows Murphys (thought it was half the size when he knew it) and Illini Inn (which was named something Midway then), and Kams. Deluxe is now named Legends, and they serve the same Friday Fish sandwich from what I've heard, but I don't like fish so I havent tried it. The bars change so much that after 3-4 years you probably wouldn't recognize half of Green St/campustown.
  15. I hate Ron Zook and Petrino. How did we win 6 games again?
  16. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 10:14 AM) Is there a better solution? Just don't bank a $115 million payroll on that team, because JR will never come close to spending that much again since it would have gotten us nowhere.
  17. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 09:37 AM) Assuming ~$115M payroll Buehrle comes back @ 4y/$56M Quentin comes back at 1y/$8M SP Buehrle SP Peavy SP Humber SP Sale Deal Danks, Floyd, Thornton, Viciedo focusing on pitching prospects in return. Beckham added to this list with Lillibridge taking over at 2nd? Leaves about $10M to spend on upgrades, 5th starter comes from return on trades. Hello 3rd place again.
  18. My brother brought down MW3 for the weekend while visiting campus, and I liked the multiplayer but it plays just like black ops, but with some terrible changes back to mw2 rules (imo). Many of the controls were changed back, and the assist being counted as only 20 pts is bulls***, but the graphics played very well and people most definitely hid better in the landscape, sometimes too much.
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 03:29 AM) I sent it too my geology teacher, she said the same thing. Milk, are you a middle-aged woman named Miriam? No, he works at Culvers.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 12:43 AM) Why. Did. You. Ever. Go. To. Kams. Seriously. Also campus has changed so much Russ, it's ridiculous how weird it can look after a few years. I've honestly been there twice, once for a date auction and another for a barcrawl, never going back, almost lost my shoes and then feet there from the floor. Campus was weird enough after just missing one semester abroad, I cant even imagine more than that, it's always changing.

QUOTE (SnB @ Nov 11, 2011 -> 01:24 PM) Brothers still have the long island special on Thursdays? Those were lethal. Yup, I think they are $2 or $3, really cheap. Pitchers were raised to $4 QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 11, 2011 -> 01:31 PM) High school girls at CO's?? No way!! I was 17 when I started college and never had an issue getting in there. Got a drinking ticket there too. What a fun s***hole that place was an underclassmen. Senior year once we all turned 21 and didn't have to pay cover, Brothers definitely became our spot on Thursdays and most nights. Hahaha that and Kams, easiest places to get in. Brothers has grown on me more and more for nights besides Thursdays, but then again I literally just cross the street to go to it, I love living at Green St Towers.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 11, 2011 -> 07:24 AM) Thursday night was always the best night to go out. $1 bottles at C.O.'s used to be my go-to. (I think it's closed down now) They got shut down after an unofficial raid a few years ago led to them breaking every single violation possible, including high school girls in the bar. They opened again a year after as a 21 and up bar, but no one wanted to go there, shocking. So yea, it's closed now. Brothers is the best Thursday night bar on campus now.
  25. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 11, 2011 -> 02:44 AM) At least I'm putting Skyrim off until December. I want to pass finals. Im putting off buying any games until winter break, I get hooked to easily.
