  1. Im debating selling off my VZ stock for either T or VOD. I've made a good profit off of VZ so far but not sure if they are going to keep the share price where it is or continue to raise it.
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 6, 2011 -> 10:51 AM) The entire markets are undervalued. I just saw a quote today from a money manager, saying that he couldn't remember a time when stocks were so cheap and no one was buying. That means, short term, things might get ugly... but long term, this will be looked back on as a huge buying opportunity. That's my plan, I keep reading all these articles where companies are just sitting on billions of dollars right now. I'm just hoping that I can take advantage of investing young and paying off later, and since Im doing remote work for my company and making my intern wages I don't have to worry that much about spending money on alcohol still
  3. Also, what do you guys think about BAC? Is that a stock that will keep going down or is it a decent risk at under $7 a share.
  4. Split about another 2k on F, GE, DE, MMM today. Trying to diversify my portfolio a bit and I really see some growth possibilities in these companies, especially Ford where they performed pretty well lately and imo is undervalued at about $10.13 per share.
  5. There's too many young whippersnappers in here making a ruckus. Cheers and happy birthday!
  6. Drinking Midori tonight courtesy of my Japanese roommate, delish!
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 01:58 PM) 1st time in like 5 years, the Illini don't have to open with Mizzou. 1-0 here we come!!!! About damn time, cannot wait for the season to start! 8-4, let's do it!

  9. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 11:44 AM) I'm not counting on it either, but I also am not going to discount the possibility. The team has been actually enjoyable to watch the past few days, the pitching is hot, the young players are playing well, Dunn has finally been benched, Rios appears to be on his way there as well, the Tigers pitching outside of Verlander remains suspect and the Tigs blew it down the stretch just 2 years ago in almost the exact same situation. I'm sure Tigers fans haven't started printing out playoff tickets yet. I am loving the changes, I just think they have been made too late. We're 5 games back at the end of August, that's quite a feat to overcome and the Tigers have only been playing better too.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 11:41 AM) The White Sox might have the best pitching of the group. And with good pitching anything can happen. Including a .500 finish just like how they've played all season with that pitching staff. Possible? Oh yea. Likely? Not really.
  11. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 11:37 AM) It also appears that we have seen the last of regular playing time for Dunn and Rios (once CQ is back). That fact alone should be reason for optimism. I'm loving the youth movement, but I'm not counting on them in pulling us over the Tigers.
  12. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 11:36 AM) Which applies to every team from 2006-2009 I mentioned Funny how those teams still went to the playoffs and everything I looked back and tried to make them non-playoff teams but I just couldn't get it to work Oh, Im sorry, were these teams built just like the Sox, along with all the same external factors? Do they have better, worse, or the same talent/leadership/management/coaches?
  13. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 11:34 AM) What's wrong with optimism ? He backs it up with valid points. He gave good examples of reasons for hope. Some of us believe in our team regardless of abundant pessimism. I'm not discounting that it can happen, I'm just saying it's highly unlikely and stated my reasons. So, where was the fault?
  14. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 11:32 AM) I spent 5 minutes looking at data and came up with a team in every year from 2006-2009. I spent two seconds and thought about the Sox this year and their inability to win consistently after getting to .500.
  15. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 11:23 AM) No, that's not all I do. Look back on my post history prior to this season. I happen to think this team is unusually poised to succeed because of its pitching. If they had a .300 team BA and a 4.5 team ERA I would be way less optimistic. I think a 23-17 record since the break (and a 15-7 record over the past 22), as well as the first winning August in forever are reasons not to QUITE throw in the towel yet (after the Det series next week we'll know everything) A team with a mediocre record at the end of August comes from behind and steals the division almost every year. If we assume that it happens in most years, wouldn't it be a safe assumption that either Cleveland or the White Sox are the most likely candidates to pull if off this season? That's a big IF. And the Sox are on a 5 game winning streak, so of course the last 22 games should have a decent record. This team has yet to show that it can win after going above .500 and keep it. The next week will be very interesting to watch, needless to say.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 11:14 AM) If we can take 4 of the remaining 5 this week, it's certainly not out of the realm of possibilities. I'm not discounting that, but all this guy does is scrap and scratch for optimism. And taking 4 of 5 is always a hard thing to do.
  17. I truly believe you fart rainbows.
  18. This has to be the funniest post I have ever seen.

    QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 28, 2011 -> 10:53 AM) This should be an ulcer inducing week for me as I await the results of this opportunity out west. The Dell gig in Round Rock didn't pan out. Oh well. This other opportunity would be a dream job for me. I'm hoping the recommendation from a Deloitte partner will put me over the top. Goodluck!
  20. QUOTE (The Critic @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 07:13 AM) "There’s not a doubt in my mind that I’m not going to win a championship." So Derrick Rose is absolutely sure that he's not going to win a championship. The English language is tricky, kids! Well, I read it with the next sentence meaning that he was absolutely positive he wasn't going to win just one championship, but multiple.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 10:36 AM) ...and you got yourself a stew goin!
