There was a pretty big article in Sunday's paper talking about how he was beefing up the committee on economic development or some sort by adding many new members to it from some of the top local businesses and expanding their direction from just bringing in company headquarters to bringing in more businesses in general to the city. This is such a smart move as many companies won't/don't want to move their HQ, and there is such a limit to the number of HQ out there. To be able to bring in additional campuses into the Chicago area should be the focus.

That city has so little hope to really turn it around, there just isnt the money/work there to do so. Now, the suburbs around it have a chance to make money still (Grosse Pointe, etc) but that city is to beaten down to save. The only movement that may have a chance is if artists decide to move there real cheap and start attracting different small businesses.
