I heard Jr was running up front and then blew an engine? Too bad Unibrow won. I wonder if NASCAR would admit to finding anything on JJ's car in the post race inspection...

QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) The wife works weekends and I'm with the kid, so the only "indoor activities" I'm taking part in are playing board games and doing laundry. Please TRY not to be jealous of my WILD life.... Brain is working tonight, although he was off yesterday. Unfortunatly for him though, he spent from 11 to about 1:30 at the urgent care center with me. Then he decided he wanted to go to the mall for a CD. As odd as it was, there were no CD stores in Orland Mall lol. Inspite of my sprained lung (which makes it feel like there is a rock in my chest), we still had a bit of fun before he had to hit the hay today .

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 28, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) Thats the thing, sometimes you just have to lay down the law. Tell her your point of view, and tell her that the coddling will stop, and that she needs to make a choice. Sometimes thats what it takes. Of course leave that up to your own discretion. But I have a friend who was getting beaten by her boyfriend, and it took us stopping our friendship for her to finally snap out of it. That's what I did with my sister. I told her I couldn't stand by and watch her get treated the way she was being treated by Nate's dad (or as I affectionately call him, Sperm Donor). It took her a few days, but she did leave and is now on her own and doing quite well.

Mets pitcher gets 50-game doping ban
Mets pitcher gets 50-game doping ban Mets pitcher gets 50-game doping ban By Jeff Passan, Yahoo! Sports April 28, 2006 New York Mets minor-league pitcher Yusaku Iriki has been suspended for 50 games after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs, becoming the first player exposed to the harsher penalties Major League Baseball instituted this offseason, a source told Yahoo! Sports Friday. Iriki, who signed a one-year, $750,000 deal this offseason, will serve the longest steroid-related major-league suspension. It stems from testing done while he was with the Mets in spring training. The 5-foot-9, 175-pound Iriki, currently pitching for Triple-A Norfolk, becomes the first Japanese player suspended for a positive steroid test at the major-league level and the 13th since baseball began doling out suspensions last season. Ten players have been suspended under minor-league testing this season. Iriki, who was taken off the Mets' 40-man roster on April 18, remained in the organization and has pitched well. He is 1-2 with a 3.74 ERA and has struck out 24 batters in 21 2/3 innings. The right-hander was considered a possible replacement if the injured Brian Bannister can't pitch for the Mets, who are in first place in the National League East. Jeff Passan is Yahoo! Sports' national baseball writer.

That's what I do not understand - where the hell did our offense go?! They were scoring left, right and sideways before heading into the playoffs (even if they were only winning every other game). I am just so completely bummed right now. Holy heck a goal for the C - Brindy!

Brain was split on this. He does think it is time for Favre to hang it up, but he wanted one more opportunity to go up to Lambeau and see him play.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 07:12 AM) Waaah, Queen. You need to come play with us anyway at the talkbhawks.com site (and 4hockeyfans, ) Been surfing both today. talkbhawks.com is a ghost town tonight, but much welcomed after surfing at the Canes site. Freaking Habs fans have taken over them board and we have lost several awesome posters because of those jags and the admins refusing the man up and start using the ban button. It is not a big deal to have the Habs fans there, but the ones that are there are complete and total jackasses. When the Sox were in the playoffs, I never thought of going to an opponents' site to talk s*** before during or after a series. I guess all fans can't be like White Sox fans .

I am making most of my hockey posts at the Carolina site. If/when they get eliminated, I will jump over to the Hawks site unless I find a Senators site that I like in the mean time. GO CANES! GO SENS!

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 07:13 AM) I agree with both of you. If I had a way to commute via mass transit, I would be all over that option. But I don't, especially in Dallas where EVERYTHING is 30 miles from where you are. How does that happen? I'm in the same boat as you guys - in order to use public transportation, it would require 2 trains and 3 buses which would take between 3 and 4 ours each trip.
