  1. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 02:41 AM) It wasn't fair you had Willie Bloomquist. It also wasn't my fault he is a god.
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 02:14 AM) Who said you're in???? You just don't want me in cuz I dominated the last one
  3. One question... How is the financial structure of the league going to be setup? Basically, are you going to set it up that each team gets the same amount to spend and that just like fan support brings in money, or are you going to set it up as the current MLB is where teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, and Angels can just outspend everybody? That decision would mean a lot to me. I have a few teams in mind that I'd like, but that question above is something that I would need answered.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 02:16 AM) Then why are the Sox always Average/slightly above average every year and never win s***? I donno. Maybe cuz he knows that when we finally do win one, it will be that much better.
  5. Dude, God has always been a Sox fan. Why do you think the Cubs choke every year?
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) Patriots anybody? They've done alright now haven't they?
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 07:46 PM) No it won't - Iggy>Gordon. Thing is say the Bulls have Iggy last year instead of Gordon they have a less wins. Who would have done the scoring? Not that I know a ton about basketball, and I am of course a little late, like always, but... Who would draft two SF's in the first round?
  8. Kind of brings up an interesting debate if the best team in baseball had no starting players. Doesn't that like fit EXACTLY into the team first mentality that the Sox have? As individual players, there are no standouts(even though there are), but as a cohesive unit, from 1-25, the team is strong(except for Timo, Vizcaino, and Walker, lol). I actually think that not having a starter, or even having just 1 or 2 representatives, could actually be viewed as a compliment to the team.
  9. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 02:29 AM) 2005 Runs scored Sox = 370 Det = 334 Ya. I see your point. Pwn3d Anyways, maybe it is JMHO...but I do think that if you put both the Sox and Tigers in neutral parks and neutral pitching staffs for an entire year that the Tigers would outscore the Sox. As proven by how many runs the Sox have outscored the Tigers by(24, if I did my math correctly...Sox have outscored them 39-15 this year in their head to head matchups), the pitching staffs are very much not neutral at all, and the fact that the Sox play in a launching pad, while the Tigers play in a cavernous park. Neutralizing the runs that they have scored against each other, due to 'unfair advantages", I think that the parks alone may make up for the .2 runs alone. While concrete evidence does not support me, I'm still going to believe that the Tigers lineup is better than the Sox lineup is at scoring runs...similar to how the 00-04 Sox lineups were better at scoring runs than the Sox are now. I could care less...the Sox only have 53 wins, are only 10.5 up on second place Minny, and are only up (lol) 16 on 4th place Detroit.
  10. The Sox just swept the s***ty ass, s*** talking team from Detroit at their place. Don't start a b****fest. Live in the moment!
  11. Completely disagree with the thought that both Anaheim and Boston are better than the Sox. Anaheim does not have much after Colon at all. They have depth in the rotation, something more important for the regular season than the postseason. And who is to say that Schilling is going to come back at full strength and be a force on the mound in the 2nd half of the year? He's 38 years old, its not like he's a young guy out there anymore. And Clement was extremly bad in the second half next year, almost allowing 2 homers per start. He does that this year, and he is gonna help leave the division open for Baltimore, New York, or Toronto to take. The Sox 1-2-3 of Buehrle-Garcia-Garland has been untouchable at times. 2 of those 3 are pitching well, and teams are probably not going to win any series against the Sox. Whose 1-2-3 matches up against the Sox 1-2-3 with any type of favor? I can think of maybe Minnesota, perhaps Anaheim, and if Schilling can come back healthy and pitching well, there is an argument that can be made for Boston too. All of this not mentioning bullpens...the Sox 1-2-3 of Cotts-Politte-Hermanson has been possibly the best in the majors this year, and if Marte comes back, or if other solid relievers are brought in, the pen will be rather deep as well. The Angels is solid, but the Red Sox pen is one of the worst in the league. Add that to the fact that the lineup is solid in all aspects 1-9, and that the bench is rather deep too, and you undoubtedly have the best all-around team in the majors. Both Boston and Anaheim, due to their tendency to base nearly their entire offense on the home run, are both very streaky...you all saw what happens to Boston when they get cold in games 1-3 of the ALCS last year...difference is, the Sox probably would have closed game 4 or 5 out.
  12. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) For Nook's Sake let's compare positions: C: I-Rod vs. AJ- I-Rod 1B: Konerko vs. Shelton- Konerko 2B: Polanco vs. Iguchi- Iguchi 3B: Inge vs. Crede- Inge SS: Guillen vs. Uribe- Guillen RF: Ordonez? vs. Dye- Dye CF: Logan vs. Aaron- Aaron LF: Pods vs. White- Pods DH: Frank vs. ?- Frank I'm not even gonna compare the rest cause all that is in the Sox favor. 3 out of 9 positions go to the tigers. enough said. Since that just so happens to be both team's exact batting orders. :rolly If you want to compare teams offensively, you compare lineups. That simple. Detroit is a better run scoring team than the Sox, and that is very simple to see. The Sox have a better overall defense along with a better pitching staff, while being older and a little more patient at the plate(and that is scary, because the Sox, in general, have very little patience at the plate)
  13. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 08:30 PM) So awesome. See, I told you the fans didn't show up
  14. Happy happy, hope we see eye-to-eye on baseball some more in the near future! (and that is beer dammit...IT'S HIS BIRTHDAY, LET THE KID HAVE A DAMN BEER )
  15. Sox are better on paper, Sox are better record wise. Craig Monroe's a f***in crackhead(and I apologize to all true crackheads out there, that is a shot at you, ya I know)
  16. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) I heard it was the D-Backs, it'll be interesting to look it back up and see who was right. Nanner, nanner Aussie linky
  17. Moving to FutureSox forum...
  18. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) no, but he will be available for a decent price, ass clown. Personal attacks are not so hawt, especially on such a petty issue
  19. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) everyone on this board who wants ross gload over paul konerko really needs to look at the possibilty of setting themselves on fire. seriously. Ross Gload at $1 mill > Paul Konerko at $8-10 mill Just like how Podsednik and Vizcaino at rougly $2 mill > Lee at $8 mill
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:52 PM) Actually on Dye, he said he went to the Sox because they made him the first offer. Arizona offered him more money, but because the Sox already offered him a deal, he decided to take it, so the D-Backs had to settle for Jose Cruz Jr. who's hitting about .210. Almost positive it was Texas that made the superior offer
  21. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) ewww. I hope that is just a rumor about Bret Boone Joe Randa seems better
  22. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:15 PM) Anything can happen. Therefore, this thread should be terminated and extincted and not let be opened and read ever again. Or we can just leave it open and let it naturally die?
  23. QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) I agree. Very pleased with the pick. I think the Sonics got a steal...he might actually be able to become a factor on that team in a couple years He doesn't wear many hats either
  24. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 08:11 AM) http://www.dailysouthtown.com/southtown/ds.../pro/301sd5.htm Just like how prior to 2003 no team had ever come back from a 7 game deficit at the ASB, let alone 7.5 and in 3rd place :rolly The Mariners were also back 13.5 in August. They won the division. Who gives a s*** about technicalities, the Twins are in a better position than Seattle was in 95, having fewer games to come back from, and more time to do it, let alone the fact that they play the Sox 13 more times this year. They go 9-4 in those games, and they are gaining like 5 games just that f***in fast.
  25. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) Can we give them Timo and keep the beer? beer > Timo And that's not even considering the $1 mill Timo is getting. That makes it like a million times worse
