    Love Calculator...oh man, good times
  2. Sticky jewels are not something I like. I also don't like frozen jewels. I also like using the term jewels. If I had to choose one, I'd probably say cold actually...you can always put more clothing on to stay warm, where as when it's hot out, you can only take off so much before you get a knock-knock from the donut shop for indecent exposure.
  3. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 12:31 AM) From 1991 to 1999, Belle averaged 39 HR, 38 2B, and 122 RBI per season. He'll get in at some point. This is why I think he should be a Hall of Famer. Whenever a guy is on top of the game for that many years, he should be. It is the reason Frank Thomas should be a Hall of Famer too. From 91-97, and then again in 2000, you will have a very, very, very hard time finding someone who was as dominant at the plate as Frank Thomas. IMO, there are 2 aspects that get you into the Hall...either longevity and being very good almost your entire career, or being an elite player in the league for 7-10 years...and first ballot are either those that were elite for 12-15 years, or were a combination of both dominant for a stretch of years, and having the longevity to still be a very good ballplayer even into the later years Knowing that, you understand a lot why I feel Thomas should be a first ballot Hall of Famer.
  4. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 08:26 PM) Belle was a career bat-corker. Gaylord Perry was a career spitballer. Don't see your point
  5. QUOTE(wsox08 @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 03:24 AM) I always hated watching Rod Beck... but I loved watching Rich Garces of Boston. He was a nice hefty man Just a bit random...but that's ok
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 03:45 AM) No. I just remember Hunter saying the same thing a couple weeks ago and people claiming that he's trying to play mind games with the Sox. Since then the Sox have gained like 7 1/2 games in the standings. So it obviously worked
  7. I've played now and then, but I don't play often. Fun game, but I can never get too involved with it
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 03:26 AM) I don't think there's any chance in hell that the Cubs let Derrek Lee file for free agency. But a fella can dream. With some of the talk around here, entire message boards can dream.
  9. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 06:44 PM) I doubt it, but I hope to God you're right. Why are you gonna pray to Prior's dad?
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 02:40 AM) I'm drooling. Casey will probably make it I'd imagine. Johnson potentially could too. I'd bet money that Lee is resigned, and I would almost be willing to put money on it that Huff is traded and then resigned.
  11. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 02:28 AM) Uribe could definitely be a gold glover. Not now, but a couple years done the road for sure. If derek jeter can be a gold glover anyone can. Crede is one of the better third baseman around ( defensively) but not gold glove caliber. Flop on aim. Uribe could be. Strong arm, good range...it's all a matter of making a somewhat difficult play and running into the stands/being in the right place at the right time to throw out Jeremy Giambi who was safe anyways. Crede never will be. Too slow(not quick) while lacking the baseball instincts needed to become a gold glover. He is above average in the same sense that Royce Clayton is above average, in that he gets to almost every ball within 3 feet and makes all the throws, while making a spectacular play now and then
  12. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 02:10 AM) Who doesn't. The guy does nothing but rake. ^^^ Great OBP, great bat, good defense. Not much more you can honestly ask for.
  13. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) Uribe and Crede play AWESOME "D" Neither play awesome-D. Both play above-average D, and above-average is not awesome. Awesome is gold glove caliber - Beltre, Chavez, Rolen. Are you going to call both Uribe and Crede gold glove caliber players?
  14. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) We just kicked the s*** out of the Cubs and you find something to b**** about. Enjoy the win and I may speak for others when I say, QUIT b****ING! I wouldn't call it b****ing, I'd call it simple questioning of Ozzie. He's not saying that it was the dumbest move ever. I too would have liked to have seen Shingo and Vizcaino used in the 8th and 9th(even if Viz was used in the 9th)...nothing wrong with bringing it up for discussion.
  15. QUOTE(Jimenez4MVP @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) Interesting, what do you think we would have gotten from Toronto since it says Milwaukee beat them out.. Hinske and Batista
  16. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) Tell That to the Marlins, Angels and Red Sox.. OK Mr. Technical First step is getting into the playoffs Happy?
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 05:24 PM) Could we quick add up with win shares of Iguchi, Duque, AJ, Pods and Viz compared to Carlos? What's the need? Pods is at 9, Caballo's at 13...I'd probably eat my shoe if like Pods and AJ werent more than Caballo, let alone Duque, Iguchi, and Viz(who has actually been mediocre in the month of June, instead of just awful)
  18. QUOTE(Jimenez4MVP @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 01:07 PM) With Pods leading off and stealing 36 bases you would imagine hed have a ton of more runs scored than someone batting 4th, which isnt the case here Need I mention the fact that half of Carlos's runs have come off of home runs, while 0 of Podsednik's runs have come off of home runs?
  19. QUOTE(Jimenez4MVP @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 12:54 PM) Just to point something out here.. Pods has 41 Runs scored and CLee has 38.. even with that huge stolen base difference (28) they are both basically even when it comes to scoring runs, where as CLee is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ahead of Pods in driving in runs.. Because Carlos hits 3rd/4th in the lineup whereas Podsednik hits leadoff? Also, those runs stats are slightly skewed. Lee has had about 306 PA's this season, while Podsednik is right around 260. Given the same amount of AB's, the run differential is roughly 47-38. I'm not suggesting Vizcaino and Podsednik for Lee favored the Sox...because just considering the players, the Brewers got the better end of it. Consider that it freed up $7 mill in salary, which allowed the Sox to sign roughly AJP, Iguchi, and say, Hermanson to, and you consider that it is Viz/AJP/Iguchi/Pods/Hermanson for Lee, and I think you know who is the clear cut winner.
  20. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) Twins were 44-49 (7.5 GB) at the break 2 years ago. That coupled with our brutal 2nd part of July and August still makes me very nervous. The Sox not having Thomas and Ordonez in the second half of last year killed any chance that team had of winning the division. They were a .500 team without those 2.
  21. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) You mean he's not... Seriously though Buherle is our Ace. He's the rock. Without Buherle this is a second/third place team... Maybe not even that... Buehrle is the reason we are in first place by 10 games over Minnesota and completely pwning the MLB? Which perfectly explains our 3-peat as AL Central champions :rolly
  22. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 12:28 AM) The Sox have some outfield prospects. The Astros have aging outfielders on the verge of retirement. I'm not saying anything, just pointing out some facts... Willy Taveras is 23, Jason Lane 28, and Lance Berkman 29.
  23. In the ALDS, I'd love to see the Orioles. I foresee their offense as one that can be shut down very easily come playoff time, for whatever reason, and their pitching is nothing to write home about(though Julio-Ryan to close out games is pretty strong). And I honestly feel that Anaheim is one of the most overrated teams in the majors...a strong offense, no doubt, but their rotation is maybe just above mediocre, and their bullpen does not have nearly the depth it has had in years past. Boston would be favorable, as would New York. Texas seems to either be the team you'd love to face or that you'd hate to face. The team I probably would not want to face no matter what is Minnesota. Strong bullpen, up and down, decent offense, very similar to ours, and then of course Johan and Radke, who can both be extremely tough to hit, let alone beat, when they are on. You consider that you will face them 4 times at the very minimum in a 7 game series, and you then realize you have to beat one of them atleast once...and if you face them 5 times, you have to beat them twice. Not something that I would really want to deal with.
