To counter the official Jose sucks thread. Who still wants to get rid of him? Solid defense, good power, and (right now) a good average, along with leadership and great baseball instincts? He's damn near a steal for $5 mill. Resign him this offseason.

He's saying you shouldn't call anything gay, atleast not on here. It's one of those things that can be taken the wrong way and can be offensive. We know you're just joking, but just as someone can frustrate you by saying bad things about the White Sox, someone can be frustrated by saying gay like it's a bad thing. Being gay is a lifestyle. Using gay like that is similar but not nearly the same as using the term "n*****" to describe something(the similarities are obvious, but the differences are very apparent...if you call a gay person gay, he'll say you're right, no s***, thank you captain obvious...something like that, while if you call a black person a n*****, you could get the s*** beat out of you). We may know you're joking, but someone can take it the wrong way. Moral of the story, just don't use the term "gay" to describe anything but something that is gay. And even then, don't use it in a bad sense. It definately does rub some people the wrong way.

These last two posts confuse the hell out of me. They both basically say "I hope JB does well", and I'm sure all of us do. But it WAS posted earlier in the thread about how he left after 2 innings while giving up 7 runs. I mean, he got the s*** hit out of him. All you have to do is scroll down a little and read, or read the box score of the game.

You think the White Sox are the only team interested in Freddy Garcia? Anyways, if they continue to go like this for another month or two, the M's will be selling off, and then they will have even more leverage. They don't HAVE to deal Garcia. Then again, we don't have to deal Lee either. It works both ways I suppose. Still, I'd say if any team has leverage, it is the M's in this case. They can deal Garcia to any team they want, so long as they get a good hitter in return. We need the pitcher, so we can't just deal Carlos to anybody.

And how much of his $66.5 mill left on his contract are you going to pay for? I'd rather have Jose Cruz Jr in CF then Griffey. Cruz is not nearly as injury prone, is a much better base-stealer, plays some damn good defense in CF, and (the best part), he is cheap. He won't wow you with his numbers, but they're solid. If we need a LH bat, I say we go the whole 9 yards. Go get Delgado/Helton/someone else(Thome for example). The team who gives us that player (Blue Jays/Rockies/someone else(Phillies in this case) respectively) receives Carlos Lee, Paul Konerko, Billy Koch, and some damn good prospects in return. However, give me an ace, and then worry about other things. You can get by with 3 runs a game if you only give up 2...am I right?

Nothing at all. Honest to God, there is no story. In fact, I'm still a virgin(not something I'm proud of either ). Just heard bad stories. And anyways, I'm mainly saying you shouldn't have sex with someone you don't know. Duh. Everyone of us feels that way. JR is a buisness man. He does what he can to win a World Series, but he is an owner of the Sox to make money. However, it is possible to win the series while "nickel and diming" it. The A's have won 100 games 3 straight years with a payroll of $40-50 mill. The Angels won the series a couple years ago with a payroll of $70 mill or so. Florida won it last year with a payroll of $50 mill. It's possible. However, to accomplish it, you have to spend money effeciently. Spending $14 mill on a player is not effeciency. Spending $8 mill a year on a one-dimensional player. Those kinds of things. You CAN win the WS with a payroll of $65 mill. But if you spend money on s***(ala the Mets, Rangers, and even the Sox as well as several other teams), you aren't going anywhere.

No. We get reamed for having a fan attack a coach and having fans come on the field, yet no one realizes that fans on the North Side have done the exact same thing. Did they get reamed for throwing s*** on the field? Of course not. Had the Sox fans done it, the White Sox would be a s*** organization. There is a double-standard in this town, and that double-standard will not be lifted until the Sox win and have a good group on the team. Or until a newspaper buys the Sox.

Oh I know for a fact Tampa will hang onto him. A great leadoff hitter like Carl Crawford is an asset to any team and a player like him makes any team that much more dangerous. See Kenny Lofton in his prime, see Rickey Henderson in his prime(though he did have a little power too), Lou Brock, and for examples today, look at how dominant Brian Roberts was against us just in this past series we had against Baltimore. When he got on base, you knew he was stealing, and you knew there was damn near nothing you could do about it. If a player like that gets on base, it's damn near runs every time. That's why Tampa will keep him. He's going to be a good-ass player by the time he starts to fill out, probably an All-Star...just imagine what he'll do if/when he starts hitting for power. He could be a top 5 player in the league.

I'm not so sure Crawford will be a 30 homer guy. I could see 20 or so, but not much more. However, I could definately see him being a 20-50 guy ...or a 20-60 guy ...or a 20-70 guy ...or maybe even more. Crawford is fast as hell, and he is a pain in the ass to play against. If we could get Carl f***ing Crawford in a White Sox uniform, I'd love it.

Doesn't look like a great track record. But then again, the 38th round didn't have a great track record when the Sox drafted Mark Buehrle!
