Very much so. I knew right away he would fail in New York.

Players who are worse usually get less cash. Magglio Ordonez will not get $15 mill a year because he is not as good as Vlad Guerrero.

Very much so. However, if Biggio is in, Larkin is in easily as well.

Sounds good. And people were ripping the Konerko for Perez deal in the offseason and in early-to-mid April. I wonder where the Konerko backers are now...? Crede's struggles have been brought up before. Trading him has been mentioned, and letting him play through it has been mentioned(ala Ventura). Kind of hard to let the kid play throught it when you want to contend, but I suppose He went to Charlotte last year and that woke him up too. Then again, I' m pretty sure the hitting coach down in Charlotte last year was Greg Walker for part of the year. Look where he is now. Maybe it's time to give Jeremy Reed a callup to the majors, and see if he can hit. If he can, we are in luck.

We'll get swept again, and we'll sweep again. Something just needs to be done to shake s*** up.

NEW RULE: If you make 1 bad pitch, you get sent to the minors Get real. One bad day does not make a season. Why not release Marte after his opening day implosing, eh? Exactly my point.

Willie's hitting .267, and I was hoping he would hit .250(BTW, I believe these averages are not including today's games). He drops below .230 into the .220 range, and you bring up Reed. Not until then.

If he doesn't know s*** about it, he shouldn't bash it. I know jack s*** about government and politics, so I don't bash it. Get the picture?

Rowand's hitting .240, Lee's hitting .235(Lee's also a RH hitter, something we have too much of as it is, and is making $6.5 mill this year...the only thing he's doing well is taking walks, as he actually has quite a few of them this year with 16). You move one of those two(personally, I would rather ship out Lee - more value as a player, bigger contract, easily replaceable - but it is total opinion and either could be), put Harris in CF, Uribe at 2B, Valentin at SS...how f***ing hard was that? And it's not like Uribe is perfect either...his only full year as a SS - 27 errors. How's that for your average, everyday, blind fan statistic. Don't be busting Jose's balls for making errors when Uribe makes just as many

And his knowledge of sabermetrics is very weak. He knows very little about them. Because he does not like the system, he slams it. That is wrong. Several teams have been built using the concept of sabermetrics(Oakland, Toronto, Boston, and now LA is being built that way too), and it has been done successfully. The only way you can bash a way of looking at something is if it has been done numberous times and has sucked every time. Sabermetrics obviously has not. On another note...thank you Billy Beane for actually using it in the first place. Prove everyone wrong. And incredibly, there are still skeptics out there(cough Hawk cough). Unbelieveable

Mario Tennis is OK. From waht I remember, it gets boring really fast though. Goldeneye = greatest game ever. I remember starting at noon(or earlier) and playing that till supper time(or even later). That game never got old.

League #2 official thread
witesoxfan replied to Gene Honda Civic's topic in PTC/Contest/Fantasy Board
Looks like in this league, WSF = the Cubs. They are a solid team now, but once they get Prior back, look out. Not saying I want the Cubs to do well, just that they most likely will. :fthecubs -
How about why would we send down a pitcher who's pitched very well for us?
-
People are starting to see the light. Trade Carlos for a solid starter, and either put Valentin at SS, Uribe at 2B, Harris in CF, and Rowand in LF, or bring up Reed and bench Rowand/Harris, or I suppose you could somehow get consistent playing time for Uribe-Rowand-Harris. Have fun with that.

I'm on no one's nuts. I just use common sense and realize that Jose Valentin brings a hell of a lot more to the table then Carlos Guillen. And why would we get Orlando Cabrera? He probably costs more this year and will cost more to retain, not to mention that Jose's career OPS is better then Cabrera's(.775 to .732), has had a higher OPS in 4 of the last 5 years(with last year being the only year Cabrera has EVER cracked the .800 barrier, and he barely did that by getting .807...Jose's two best years he has had .835 and .845, and he hasn't been below .765 since 1998 when he hit .224 for the entire year), though both do have equally good range, both make errors(Cabrera had 18 last year and 29 the previous year, and Jose has had 20 and 36 respectfully in his last two full years at SS). Basically, I'm asking, what does Orlando Cabrera bring to the table that Jose Valentin does not or that we don't already have? We have steals...Harris steals bases, Uribe steals, Rowand steals, Olivo steals, Lee can swipe a base now and then, hell, Valentin can even steal a base occasionally too. We have right-handed power, and we have all kinds of it. We have good hitters. We have a good defensive SS. Cabrera brings nothing that we don't have. So why trade for him? And in the offseason, if we can get him for $5 mill a year, I'd probably take him. If he's $6-7 mill a year, like I think he'll get...resign Jose and spend the money elsewhere.

4.3 minutes. Duh

We were about 8-6 without Jose(or 9-6 if you count the game where he was pulled). While that is solid, roughly a .571 winning percentage, it is not nearly how well we were playing before(the Sox were 9-4 when Jose went out, which is a .692 win%). So your point is invalid. The played worse with Jose out of the lineup then when he was in the lineup. To (hopefully) kill this thread, ebaumsworld strikes...

Politte has a guaranteed contract of $1 mill. He won't be seen in a Knights uniform anytime soon.

Valentin for Guillen? Let's just let them rape us in the ass and not do anything about it. That's worse then highway robbery. Hell, I'd rather trade Foulke for Koch again instead of make that trade, even knowing that Koch would be awful last year and Foulke would be awesome. Guillen can't hold Valentin's jock. And if you can't hold Valentin's jock, you f***ing suck ass.
