  1. His nickname is "the full count" for a reason.
  2. Grab the Pepto, grab the Rolaids, grab the Tums, grab something that will unknot your stomach. When Billy's out there, no one knows what the f*** is gonna happen.
  3. I think Ozzie's a bonehead now and then. He did that in another game too(had Gload run) and then when the time came that we needed a pinch hitter, Gload was out of the game, so we used Perez instead
  4. I don't know if this has been brought up before or not, but am I the only one who thinks it's kind of dumb to pinch run Ross Gload for Paul Konerko? I mean, he's faster and all, but it's like having a guy that runs a 5 second 40 come in for a guy that runs a 5.3 40. Why not have Harris or Perez come in and pinch run and then do some substitution from there?
  5. They'll take the win if they are a team-oriented group and not a group full of Sammy's. And during the delays, I'm sure they play cards(probably Texas Hold em) and watch film and stay stretched and s*** like that.
  6. f***. They should have just ended it then and there. Oh well
  7. Oh it sucks ass when that s*** happens. In another league I'm in(Dbaho is in it, along with others), I missed the draft( ) and ended up with Larry Walker, Nomar Garciaparra, and Trot Nixon on my team, and all were on the DL prior to the beginning of the season. Well, I dropped Walker for someone, and I had Angel Berroa on my team too, and, of course, he went on the DL too. Well the other day I picked up Dave Roberts for SBs. What the hell do you think he did?
  8. f***ing dumbass. Neal Cotts sucked last year too. Now he's doing a damn good job as a LH reliever. So SHUT THE f*** UP BTW...
  9. It's like everyone you touch goes bad. So how about you go pick up every player on the Twins now, eh?
  10. :finger Atleast Lee showed how overrated he is.
  11. Actually, our OBP is 7 points higher then the Twins with our team average being only 3 points higher then the Twins, which would mean we have more walks then the Twins. But we have a guy named Frnak Thomas who is second in the AL in OBP(1 point behind Melvin Mora, who is so high because of his high-ass batting average)
  12. The biggest series of the year will come in September So what if we are 2 games out by the end of tonight? So what if we are 5 games out by the end of the weekend? The Twins and Sox were 7 games back of the Royals at the ASB last year, and the Twins won the division convincingly.
  13. You said something that can be read two ways. Replaceable can mean they are easily replaced by anyone, or they are replaceable by someone on the team. Regardless, that is NOT a good reason to bash someone. You can bash them if they are doing s***ty or they don't give a s*** or they aren't earning their money(ala Carlos and his $6 mill salary hitting .235).
  14. It's good to join the club, isn't it?
  15. IIRC, Glavine signed a 3-year $36 mill deal with New York prior to last year. The Mets would have to take on a s***load of his salary. Hold on, I'll check his salary... EDIT: Here you go, Glavine's contract. 3-years, $35 mill. So I was one off. Sue me. Tom Glavine LHP NYM Signed Dec 2002 - 3 years/$35M 2003: $11.0M 2004: $10.5M 2005: $10.5M 2006: Mutual option $6.5M or $3.0M buyout
  16. HAHA, Cheat lost again. Sorry, just had to do that.
  17. In saying that, you are probably correct. I think the only time JR considers an "aggressive" move is if the Sox only take on say $1-2 mill tops, and KW does a hell of a good job of selling his reason why it will put the Sox over the top. A hell of a good job
  18. They shouldn't be contending. But they are. I honestly can't explain it. I highly doubt anyone on that team will hit 25 homers(if anyone does, it will be Hunter or Jones), I highly doubt anyone will drive in 100 runs(I'm not sure who would do that...Hunter maybe, possibly Mientkiewicz, Jones), though they'll have a few .300 hitters.. Their starting rotation will probably not feature a 15 game winner(though Santana and Silva could get there...those two and Radke are about the best shots at doing it), they probably will not feature a guy with an ERA below 4.00 when it's all said and done, and they might have 1 or 2 guys throw 200 innings(probably 2 out of Silva, Radke, and Santana, though realistically all 3 could). Their best reliever is Joe Nathan, their lefty setup guy(Romero) can't find the strike zone 50% of the time, Joe Roa looks like either a leprechaun or the kid you used to pick on in school(and he's not a great pitcher either), Aaron Fultz features mediocre stuff, Juan Rincon is hit pretty easily(his fastball is about as straight as Koch's and he throws it about as hard as Koch does), and Terry Mulholland was drafted in 1984...nuff said. How they win, I can't explain, because, quite frankly, they shouldn't be a good team. In fact, they aren't a good team. But being a good team doesn't get you to the playoffs, being a good team doesn't get you division titles. Winning ball games does, and they are most definately a winning team. They have guys on that team who just don't lose. There's nothing you can do about it but hope to god they hit a cold streak, lose 20 of 26 like they did before the ASB last year, and then bury the team, sell off the parts, and rebuild for next year.
  19. JR let him be ultra-aggressive last year. Then again, getting Everett, Alomar, Scho, and Sullivan cost us financially as close to the minimum amount we had to pay as possible. We had to pay Everett and Alomar the very minimum(with Texas and New York taking on the rest of their salaries respectively), though I am not sure about Scho or Sulli.
  20. I think it was sarcasm that was so blatantly obvious that Old Socks thought no one would think he was serious, so he didn't use the green. Apparently, he was wrong. And D'Angelo is a s*** player with a s*** attitude, yada, yada yada...we've all heard it already. It's good to hear he's doing so well in Cincinatti(do I have to put that in green?)
  21. That's good. We need another starter, another good LH hitter, a closer, and some more bullpen depth. He needs to be ultra-aggressive.
  22. I haven't run a mile in a long time. I should do it again, I'm getting "flabby."
