  1. Mench would be a very solid addition to the club
  2. QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 10, 2007 -> 09:59 AM) Colon? Anyone? Incentive laden deal? Just tossing it out there. I'd prefer Freddy personally
  3. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 10, 2007 -> 05:49 AM) I think its kind of funny that people get all worked up when Ozzie or Kenny say these sorts of things. What do you expect them to say? My guys suck?! Heck, if anything, this tells me its likely that one of Danks or Floyd might get moved in a trade. I don't expect him to call them top of the rotation guys. He's flat out lying when he's doing that. I would expect him to say something along the lines of "We feel we have some good pitchers in John Danks and Gavin Floyd, and I'm sure that they will be very good for us this year." It's a bit more open for interpretation and doesn't flat out call them top of the rotation guys which every person in the industry can see they are not yet.
  4. Aussie wants more vegemite
  5. It has been an all-around good day in the NFL. That is all.
  6. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 9, 2007 -> 04:52 PM) Does that mean we should be majorly worried about Scott Linebrink then? Probably
  7. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Dec 9, 2007 -> 05:21 PM) So why would Anaheim even bother? Just to make headlines? I doubt they would, but the thought behind it is that they would like Konerko's power and that Konerko's a bit overrated around the league. As far as I'm concerned, Kotchman's got more value than Konerko at this point.
  8. The love for Romo comes from TO; because TO is the man, Romo gets love and has a great season. TO is godly
  9. QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 9, 2007 -> 05:01 PM) Just study for 10 minutes. I wish I were that good Of course, studying for that little time might just make me study for a while.
  10. Ugh, I'm crazy hungover today, and I can't make myself get out of this chair and do some homework. This sucks.
  11. QUOTE(joeynach @ Dec 9, 2007 -> 04:29 PM) Is owens a lock for a .280 AVG with a .350 OBP?? Juan Pierre hasn't had a .350+ OBP since 2004; he is not a good player.
  12. QUOTE(PlunketChris @ Dec 9, 2007 -> 04:26 PM) Please relax. It's just sports. Nobody is dying over this... I love the white sox.. and i realize that they're not necessarily a favorite.. but stranger things have happened than a team like the white sox will field having something of a shot at making things interesting... all i'm saying is, why play the youth from day one if you have a more seasoned and a more reliable option to plug in "the youth's" place..? and as for my Colorado Rockies reference.. nobody expected them to put up the numbers they did.. and they did, nobody expects much out of the white sox.. and maybe the team will play past it's projected potential. Maybe the young arms will pitch like kings and the oldtimers will return to form. Who knows? Let the games be played. Everything's fine and dandy, I just look at the team and don't see a contender. Trust me, I take it seriously, but it's not life or death. Also, I'm not sure how Pablo is any more reliable than Richar; if Pablo doesn't hit .320 (or so), he's pretty bad.
  13. QUOTE(jenks45monster @ Dec 9, 2007 -> 04:11 PM) I agree that his stuff is going downhill. But a one year deal wouldn't be bad. One year to let some other guys develop and send him packing after 08'. You could very well be wasting 3.75 mill. What's the point? Let the Yankees take that risk and let the relievers develop at the major league level, as there's really no harm.
  14. QUOTE(jenks45monster @ Dec 9, 2007 -> 04:04 PM) It isn't like he's 40 now...hes only 34. and his stuff is deteriorating all the same And the last time he was in the AL, 2006, he put up an ERA of 4.48 and a WHIP of 1.46; what would make you think that 2 years later he's going to improve upon that? He wasn't a good option and may well end up getting DFA'ed by July.
  15. QUOTE(bschmaranz @ Dec 9, 2007 -> 03:22 PM) Right here Cool. Thanks
  16. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Dec 9, 2007 -> 03:15 PM) Because they have attractive prospects, we dont. Yeah we do, we just don't have many. The White Sox have enough to get Bedard, it just wouldn't be the best idea in the world.
  17. the Dolphins suck at football and holding on to it. 8 fumbles; that's gotta be some kind of record
  18. QUOTE(bschmaranz @ Dec 9, 2007 -> 02:38 PM) And he did agree to waive his NTC. Where did you read that?
  19. QUOTE(BearSox @ Dec 9, 2007 -> 12:42 PM) Okay people, you must realize something... Konerko >>>>>>>> Kotchman and it isn't even close. How do you figure that? Kotchman's got like 4 years left of service - opposed to the 3 of Konerko - he's 7 years younger, and he's about $11.5 million cheaper; there's no way you can tell me Konerko is that much better or more attractive than Kotchman, because I'm not buying it.
  20. What are the odds that Luis Vizcaino is going to have a better season then, say, Aardsma or MacDougal? I would say 2:1, perhaps less; you are going to get Aardsma and MacDougal for cheaper and there's no long term commitment. Luis Vizcaino is not that good and he isn't worth the 4 year contract he's quite likely to get.
  21. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Dec 8, 2007 -> 05:37 PM) 1 year $10 million. Probably a good deal; he may be more effective than Cordero next year without the long-term commitment and he's cheaper too.
  22. QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 8, 2007 -> 11:31 AM) I always thought she was rather manly looking in the face. get drunk and then you won't care
  23. QUOTE(3E8 @ Dec 7, 2007 -> 08:18 PM) Now this is a new putting grip LMFAO
  24. QUOTE(forrestg @ Dec 7, 2007 -> 06:58 PM) Erstadt equaled a grinder.. BA equaled a pretty boy in Ozzies eyes.. Erstadt had to run like crazy to get to the ball while BA took direct routes. Ba got sent down after about 19 at bats. I'm not arguing with anybody about his swing and the fact that needed to be improved.. But the whole 2007 white sox players, Dye, and Konerko, until the last couple of months seemed to be operating at the mendoza line. BA did hit well 2 out of the 6 months in 06 that shows he can do it. Texsox is right if we could use BA rather than spend 18 million better then maybe we could get a Sp like Haren and some relievers.. Sox will still have some question marks waiting at Spring training. How well can Crede play can BA look like a Major leaguer. Not to mention choosing SPS and a bullpen from all those players we sent down. The White Sox aren't getting Haren. Crede will be playing somewhere else.
