GT 6/22: TOR @ SOX, 1:10, NBCSC

Good thing we already made it past the plantation analogy somehow... But definitely beating up Lucas, Abreu and the bullpen. Granted, not many decent options remaining. -
Mendick, Engel, and (maybe) Robert leave with injuries

Alex Rios was in attendance? I'd rather ask TLR why he's willing to PH Anderson in the 9th but not for Leury with the bases loaded and two outs in the 8th? -

Rodon starting off 3 0 0 1 5 against the Braves in ATL. Just 38 pitches so far. 2.72 ERA -

Tiger Woods' right leg is "ouchies." Sam Sneed after a car wreck. Robert is perfectly fine. -

Better fundamentals. We might actually need a Korean or Japanese player to teach them. No more Boston and McEwing. Dare not hope to launch Cairo and Narron, too. A left-handed outfielder not Sheets nor a DH/1B masquerading as an outfielder. Fix the health of Grandal…Moncada…Jimenez, or move on. More walks again and higher OBP are desperately needed. New hitting coach. Coaches specifically to work on infield defense, holding runners, catching and outfield defense. At least two new coaches also desperately needed. Conforto. Vaughn to 1B. Abreu to DH, new org or retirement. His bat is becoming too important to risk another outfield collision or diving attempts to cover lack of foot speed.

Mendick, Engel, and (maybe) Robert leave with injuries

He’s way too demanding and “Old School” for the modern MLB player. But it worked. Until his time had passed…not unlike JR and TLR. Unfortunately they just don’t know it quite yet. -

https://www.mlb.com/video/luis-robert-s-rbi-single-x5018 Here’s the full video of the Robert play in question…Stone starts calling him out at the end. Guess we will hear he was told to take it easy with a 7-2 or 9-2 lead or whatever it was at that moment. Bad habits just keep proliferating. Lack of communication calling off fielders. Trail runners constantly advancing. Not catching or holding onto balls. Terrible throws or missed relays/cuts. Such a sloppy team and organization overall. Talented but directionless. Or rudderless. Choose your preferred adjective. -

Might be a cracked kneecap or ACL/MCL/PCL. Definitely a deep deep knee bruise/contusion at the very least. Direct knee to knee contact. Burger had no angle and should have peeled off much earlier…or been called off by Mendick and/or Haseley. -

Robert actually should be benched…saw the replay, no clue why he was admiring a flare single that was totally misplayed in left instead of busting it out of the box. Arguably could have been on third with the throw through to the plate. Benched even if it means Leury in CF one game. Josh Harrison scored all the way from first on the play…Robert ends up on first. And he was not injured coming out of the box…he was just posted up watching the ball drop in front of Gurriel, who had a pretty terrible defensive series. -

Well, except for Brian Ball and Allen Thomas, lol. We even screwed that up, or his son would be our starting OF. Of course he might not have survived our minor league system/coaching 2-3 years ago. -

The LEGO Titanic is more indestructible than the Sox. -
Jays kill sliders/cutters, taking away a go to option this year, especially against lefties…and the once pretty decent curveball long dead and buried with the over the top mechanics junked. Now he throws from his ear like an NFL QB. Can’t just go FB/CH when you’re losing your speed differential on those two with FB falling to 91-92 range…well off previous mid 90’s. No weather excuses for the diminished stuff, either.

Thomas just hit homer #6, fwiw. Hasn’t been up that long. But his acquisition cost would be bigger than Ketel Marte.
