This is too much optimism for you, Thad. The Naylor comeback from six downfelt like a near miracle. Well, let's see if they have any of that 2020 fighting spirit left over. Nestor Cortes throwing yet another shutout tonight against TB...sheesh. -

Yet you know the postgame stories will be all about Dallas deflecting blame...offense not supporting him so he needed to be too fine, couldn't rely on Grandal, poor advance scouting, infielders masquerading as outfielders, etc. -

Why you could never say we had a "great rotation" because the weakness we all knew would be exposed at the back end...just lacking in quality depth. -

Thanks GRF wind. There come the boos. At least they pretty much have to pull him from the rotation at this point. Have yourself two weeks Third three run homer and a grand slam mixed in this week. Story has obliterated sliders and cutters for two weeks... great scouting report there guys. -

JD Martinez OBP in May is 473...not too far off from Arraez over two months. -

We should have trusted the Dodgers and Brewers being unwilling to invest in him long term. In some ways, MIL pretty much chose the much cheaper Narvaez and Manny Pina over him. -

They could hit just Martinez Devers and Story...give up the other six outs each time through, and still somehow beat the White Sox against Keuchel. -

Kelly to IL (strained hamstring - out a monthish); Banks up
caulfield12 replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Isn't it closer to 60-65% of salary for that time missed? As for the White Sox, Lloyd's of London should probably avoid insuring them at all costs. Losing proposition unless the premiums are out of the stratosphere. -
Donaldson apologies to Robinson, "understanding" with TA
caulfield12 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Why apologize to the Robinson family if you didn’t do anything wrong? That paragraph of his statement was disingenuous at best, scripted by his agent, and/or the Yankees/MLB and comes across as something he doesn’t really believe, ringing hollow. -
Just wait until they trade Contreras, Happ, Robertson, Stroman (maybe), etc. Even with the weaker division, rebuilding on the fly was always going to be a nearly insurmountable challenge.

Old Sock Drawer, ex Sox player discussion

Pilkington going up against Skubal…who’s returning from a lower leg injury. For awhile now, they have had Rodriguez, Manning, Mize, Turnbull (TJ) all on the shelf. -

4. Luis González, OF, Giants (2 first-place votes) The Giants claimed González off waivers from the White Sox last season and, after releasing him prior to the non-tender deadline, re-signed him to a Minor League contract last December. The 26-year-old opened this season in the Minors, but he quietly has been one of San Francisco’s best hitters since his callup on April 22, posting a .338/.385/.475 slash line while seeing time at all three outfield spots. He’s even made three pitching appearances, two of them in consecutive games mlb.com -
What’s the word on Kelly?
-
Probably accounted for by Luis Arraez bats alone.
-
See the “under the radar” success of Jeremy Pena pretty seamlessly replacing Correa at SS.
-
They have been stuck ping ponging back and forth between +1 E and -1 in the standings for days and days now.

Watch the play Wong and Urias combined to make yesterday around the bag...changed the complexion of the game.

At that point I said 93 wins, you said 109. I offered to let you lower it down closer to the midpoint, 101-103. This is not close to being the best team in the history of the franchise. Most talented collection of individuals, perhaps, but with Grandal falling off the map, Moncada slumping and Eloy MIA, not sure how we can even say that's true. It's TA7, Robert (when on the field) and maybe Vaughn. That's not nearly enough with the numbers our so-called complementary players are posting. And I was one of the few a month ago that was worried about the Twins. Not just because of their next 9 remaining games on the schedule, but because they're playing so much more loosely and actually having fun, just like the 2020 White Sox (until the final two weeks or so of that season...when they suddenly got really tight.) That team had comeback after comeback in them and battled you until the final out. This version goes in prolonged slumps where they look like they will never score another run again, especially hitting with RISP,
-
So you're sticking with that numbers for the bet? I offered the opportunity for you to lower it to make things more interesting.

Moncada 3 for his last 38. Even the Red Sox announcers think there absolutely has to be something wrong with him. Completely out of sync and bad body language.
