  1. Well considering he's universally the best SS in the majors after 40 games, hard to imagine any other grade, especially after this past weekend. 21,705 official attendance, fwiw. Lots of no shows with the weather.
  2. Have to get Vaughn out of RF whether he gets on base or not.
  3. This season is turning out to be more like a season of Survivor: AL Central...pretty incredible that the abbreviated spring training and cold weather in the early season led to all of this.
  4. Who are your corner outfielders then? AJ Pollock? Engel? Colas? Leury? Not like this next FA class is stacked and we don't play well there anyway.
  5. Did we give Chris Getz a three year extension as well for his efforts?
  6. They had 22 balls last night hit at over 95 mph.
  7. Building around Eloy they better do it fast because it's easy to imagine them not picking up his option years if he can never stay on the field. ..... Meanwhile, Jean Segura has an 806 OPS. How many times was that name mentioned? Nobody believed they would stick with Knebel at closer.
  8. Bloopers and one hard hit ball by Martinez. Pretty much the opposite of last night. Wacha and Keuchel tmrw...at least nobody will see that unless they keep it as a night game for attendance. What's the start time?
  9. For nearly a decade the Sox couldn't touch veteran soft tossing lefties. Nothing should be shocking. We are also one of the worst teams in the majors against off speed pitches, for example.
  10. When natural outfielders make that play at 1B you know you're in trouble. Seems pretty clear Eloy wouldn't be capable of the same. Just never fluid in any of his movements.
  11. But if you remember Sosa is his two years he was way too undisciplined to completely change his style of hitting overnight. Did Hrniak gel with any Latin American players on the Sox at that time?
  12. What is the weather forecast for tmrw? Just what they need, five off days in a span of about ten days or so.
  13. Didn't help Sosa much...he was never going to fit that mold.
  14. That still won't be enough to limit him to the 135-140ish IP range. And having four off days (one a rainout) in a week and a half isn't going to happen again.
  15. Still have to weather nine more against KC (4) and Detroit (5). Not going to get K's like that against Correa and Kepler with bases loaded on a consistent basis too often in Minny. But the Twins with Buxton struggling mightily and not adjusting to a DH role were definitely due for a loss even facing a bullpen starter. He's back in CF tmrw, supposedly.
  16. So it's down to Keuchel or VV...assuming Cueto doesn't fall apart before mid June. But they still haven't presented the plan for protecting Kopech. Or even hinted at it.
  17. But he and Paddy were the ones responsible for Abreu Robert and Tatis, Jr., moreso than anyone. Marcus Semien as well.
  18. Pollock if he's an everyday player and not benched might end up closer to $8 or $9 million with plate appearances bonuses. Depends if they hit him higher or lower in the order with this offense, of course.
  19. Buxton, 3 for last 41, 0/22 streak. DHing mostly. Just missed a bomb in first, barely yanked foul. But Correa and Sanchez really heating up. Celestino a revelation and Kepler wishes all of his games were against Detroit. Finally Arraez .455 obp leads majors.
  20. Tigers now 5-15 on the road. Would be the fourth series sweep of the season for the Twins. White Sox, A’s, Royals, Tigers.
  21. https://theathletic.com/3331965/2022/05/24/tim-anderson-white-sox-2/?source=freedailyemail&campaign=601983 "Stick Talk" not enough of that from the remainder of the roster.
