Trade Haul Reflections by the Numbers
https://www.si.com/mlb/trade-deadline-10-biggest-mistakes-of-the-last-decade Three involving SD, then there's Mets/PCA leading Tatis, Jr., now... Luckily LAD didn't end up with Alvarez, too. Chris Archer trade to Pittsburgh looks worse and worse...Rays got three front lines players

And that's another Walk off special White Sox winner!
After the SFG/Boston starting failure, doubt he would agree after finding a more comfortable role in the pen again.

Alcantara might be on the market again now. LAD more interested in Skubal now with Ohtani's lingering uncertainty...

Antonacci homer hung up there forever. What a crazy EV/launch angle.

Do you think the Sox should really be buying?
The team that shouldn't acquire SkubalWhite SoxYou never want to advocate passivity, but the White Sox should not mortgage their future for two months of Skubal. Nor will they. Because while this season has been a wonderful surprise for the Sox, their window probably doesn't open in earnest until 2027. That's true even if they sneak into October this year. Chicago should and will be aggressive to add pitching before the deadline, but that likely comes in the form of a controllable arm such as the Mariners' Hancock, Angels' Reid Detmers, Yankees' Will Warren or Twins' Joe Ryan.

The Non-Ron GameThread: White Sox vs Yankees 6:40 CDT Martin vs Schlittler
MLB Network’s Jon Morosi added some context today, writing that the Sox are “among the most active suitors” for rotation upgrades entering the deadline. It’s unclear if they’re looking for ace-level starters or simply doing due diligence on all the available options. Nonetheless, it seems that the team is serious about upgrading a rotation that’s currently tied for 16th in ERA (4.35) and ranks dead last in the Majors in innings pitched (461 2/3). mlbtraderumors.com poor Mead out 6-8 weeks now

Do you think the Sox should really be buying?
Let's Have Some Fun Tier Pirates/White Sox "Yet here are the White Sox and Pirates, each with winning records and playoff odds in excess of 40%, each exhibiting traits of Actually Good Baseball Teams that should make them no-doubt buyers. For both clubs, adding pitching to support a stellar lineup is paramount. Pittsburgh's woeful bullpen has undermined its revamped and resplendent offense and talented rotation. The White Sox haven't been that bad on the mound but lack the impact arms typically associated with October-bound clubs. On the whole, expect Pittsburgh to act more urgently than Chicago, as there's more pressure on its front office to finally win after meandering for years, whereas the Sox look to be at the outset of an exciting era on the South Side and thus might be hesitant to spend future assets for short-term solutions."
