Trade Talk With Rick Hahn/Merkin
But he and Paddy were the ones responsible for Abreu Robert and Tatis, Jr., moreso than anyone. Marcus Semien as well.

Trade Talk With Rick Hahn/Merkin
Pollock if he's an everyday player and not benched might end up closer to $8 or $9 million with plate appearances bonuses. Depends if they hit him higher or lower in the order with this offense, of course.

2022 AL Central catch all thread
Buxton, 3 for last 41, 0/22 streak. DHing mostly. Just missed a bomb in first, barely yanked foul. But Correa and Sanchez really heating up. Celestino a revelation and Kepler wishes all of his games were against Detroit. Finally Arraez .455 obp leads majors.

2022 AL Central catch all thread
Tigers now 5-15 on the road. Would be the fourth series sweep of the season for the Twins. White Sox, A’s, Royals, Tigers.

TA7 Extension...how much?
https://www.mlb.com/news/best-mlb-players-through-may-2022 Anderson voted starter for All MLB team at quarter pole. Kopech honorable mention. Shortstop Tim Anderson, White Sox .365/.405/.527, 19 RBIs, 7 SB Lost in all the controversy at Yankee Stadium last weekend is just how much of a star Anderson has been so far this year. On a White Sox club that has been ravaged by injuries, Anderson has been the team's salvation, having his career year at the exact time Chicago needs him most to do so. Anderson is a stealth MVP candidate at this point, particularly if the White Sox can rebound to win the AL Central, and he remains one of the most magnetic, compulsively watchable players in the game. Runner-up: Jeremy Peña, Astros (7 HR, 22 RBIs, .293/.347/.504)

Moncada + Grandal
He’s ahead of only two qualified hitters in OPS, Trent Grisham and Marcus Semien. Avi Garcia isn’t very far off.

Red Sox vs White Sox Game Two-7:40 CT
Oldest pitcher in baseball, pretty sure.

Anderson ready to move on from Donaldson
https://www.mlb.com/news/tim-anderson-on-josh-donaldson-comment Please merge with the locked thread for update news/comments/quotes He did say that (in 2019),” Anderson said. “I told him that, ‘We don’t ever have to talk again. And I won’t speak to you, you won’t speak to me if that’s how you’re going to refer to me.’ And I know he knew exactly what he was doing. Because I already told him. “He goes to Minnesota, two years, doesn’t say nothing to me because I already addressed it. And we get into it (May 13 at Guaranteed Rate Field) with me sliding back (into third base), so I push him off me. And he felt the need to say it again, but you know, he’s trying to provoke me. And he knew what he was doing.” Anderson said the Yankees have not reached out. “I can definitely move on,” he said. “But I’m not looking for friendship, no relationship from that behalf. But I’m going to continue to keep playing hard and keep being a great teammate and keep being the best version of myself I can be.” Anderson led the American League with a .359 average entering Tuesday. “If you’re looking for the latest example of how special he is, just look at (Sunday),” Sox manager Tony La Russa said. “If that’s the first time you’ve been able to see how special he is, then you haven’t been paying attention. “He is a credit to Major League Baseball. He’s exactly what our fans need to see as far as what a person he is and his dedication to winning. I was around here long enough to slightly get to know Michael Jordan — he’s got that Michael Jordan desire for his team to compete and play for a championship. “(Former manager) Gene Mauch once said it, when your best players have that kind of motivation, man, it’s a huge advantage. This guy is really special at everything he does.” https://sports.yahoo.com/tim-anderson-ready-move-josh-234800679.html

Old Sock Drawer, ex Sox player discussion
He has a really strong arm too. Cheaper and younger than Pollock. Could easily have platooned with Engel.

Just how concerned should the Yankees be?
By the end of this series, it might be was it over for the Red Sox 2-3 weeks ago? They have gone from -9 to -1 and just one-half game behind the White Sox in the WC race with two more games head to head.

13-12 Giants win, Joc Pederson with three homers and 8 RBIs including the game tying one...Brandon Crawford drove in the winner, Ruf scored ahead of Canha's throw incredibly. Edwin Diaz torched. Snapped the SF losing streak too.

Old Sock Drawer, ex Sox player discussion
Joc Pederson with three homers all with runners on base...last time someone beat that was Willie Mays with 4 in 1961. Almost like an ex Sox with how much Sox talk "ink" has been spilled on him.

Old Sock Drawer, ex Sox player discussion
3/5 now up to .338 and .860 one of the craziest games of the season so far against the Mets who went from 8-2 down to 11-8 up to 11-11 tied bases loaded bottom of the 8th. Joc Pederson with HR #10 tied it with a two out 3 run Homer.

5/24 Pivetta vs. Cease 7:10
Even now, with Harper, we wouldn't have a RFer because of his UCL injury.
-
Trade Talk With Rick Hahn/Merkin
That early success (2019) of the Big 3 trades and the acquisition of Luis Robert saved Hahn's job, clearly.
-
5/24 Pivetta vs. Cease 7:10
Phillies' outfield defense couldn't have been coordinated any better by Hahn and TLR. Two quite similar teams in many ways. Underachieving.
-
5/24 Pivetta vs. Cease 7:10
They're about to give that game right back to the Braves...no Knebel apparently.
-
Trade Talk With Rick Hahn/Merkin
He and Julio Franco would still be more effective than our LHH against RHP. Heck, they even might make Robinson Cano look bad.
-
5/24 Pivetta vs. Cease 7:10
Chris Davis would be a perfect fit to bring over to solve the LHH problem.
-
5/24 Pivetta vs. Cease 7:10
They didn't want to deal Benintendi (wrong move, clearly) or Devers (especially) at that time. Heard Dennis Eckersley (TV analyst and former LaRussa star) already warned Tony we were absolutely going to get steamrolled...he's not in Chicago for this road trip, though.
-
5/24 Pivetta vs. Cease 7:10
Not for the White Sox...
-
5/24 Pivetta vs. Cease 7:10
You're still not yet accounting for Eloy's ongoing injuries, Pollock opting in for next season, another year of Leury and some type of "retirement gift contract" for Jose Abreu.

5/24 Pivetta vs. Cease 7:10
Yankees needed to dump Donaldson onto the Covid-19 list to get a huge comeback win. Well, pretty much expected against BALT...
