If the sportwriters had the only voice in the MVP decision, why were they promoting the fan vote?

Carlos Rodriguez and Barfield weren't quoted...but they were/have been cited by Shirley and others during those All Access Fri interview nights.

Current core doesn't have quite as many superstar ceilings...but overall possess the higher floors across the board. That said, Vargas/Colson/Mune all have been great at various points this year. And right now it feels like the depth is tremendous everywhere but CF and across the pitching staff. Biggest "worries" positionally are Antonacci vs. Meidroth and the catching spot...at least ATM. Not exactly team killing issues. That said, Bonemer and Roch could be huge movers to push it over the top, and then there's always the Mune wild card, too.

Madrigal and Vaughn might not have survived the Sox clubhouse visits, had they been invited.... Would also have been interesting to see how/when they eliminated Lackey from consideration, as well as Flora.

Sure, but Ohtani is getting $100 million personally and the Dodgers are leveraging him Yamamoto and Sasaki and those World Series titles for another $200-250 million per year, all revenue streams considered. White Sox still haven't signed any corporate partnership/sponsorship deals with Japanese companies. We will see if the Sox take on any new salaries at the trade deadline...saving on prospects while essentially purchasing the the last two months of 2026/option buyouts, etc.

Mogollon at #10 seems way off. Will have lots of different takes in terms of the respective values of Hagen Fauske Prosek Thome and Carlson. Fauske can play CF? While Fauske has some experience behind the plate and some scouts thought he might be the best catching prospect in the 2025 Draft, he doesn't want to play there, and the White Sox plan on developing him as a full-time outfielder. They'd rather maximize his bat and athleticism, and they think he has solid speed and instincts to possibly stick in center field.
