2026 Spring Training Thread
Certainly a ”hot takel" around here is that a #10 drafted high schooler is on his way to Low A ball...and not AZ Complex ball. You'd be hard pressed to find many that weren't so similarly advanced, except players who were hurt their draft year or signed really really late. If it was such a pressing issue to big league teams, they wouldn't have dumped so many rookie league and A level minor league teams, me thinks.

"South Korea-Japan WBC Clash Achieves 16.5% Combined Viewership, MBC Dominates for Second Consecutive Game"...that's for Korea The Japanese tv ratings are going to be insane when announced. Sat prime time vs. 5-8 a.m starts for the World Series last year. Australia as well, for last night as well as this Monday night vs. Korea.

Getz does actually realize Acuna's a switch hitter now? Am I paid $750k like he is?

Yeah cute how he's not currently in high school. Fine I misread that someone wanted him in Winston Salem because a number of posters wanted Braden Anderson moved up all the way to Chicago last year. First round draft picks from high school level 90-95% of time are in low A the following year.

Name the last White Sox position player drafted from high school who debuted the next season in High A???? I dare you. Especially ones with questions about eventual big league hitting ability.

You don't put high schoolers in High A ball. At least not to start the season.

Dan Hayes was the original reporter. How would the Twins' beat reporter name an actual top prospect in that system without solid inside information? Well I guess we helped the Twins letting Thome go...since Ozzie preferred the rotating DH/Kotsay. Then you have Ishbia abandoning Twins for Sox. Bad blood.

We also heard how W.Gonzalez had the ability to be a starter.... Sandlin features a fastball that sits 93-96 mph but tops out at 98 mph, a slider that has been shown to miss bats, a splitter that can be a put-away pitch with some refinement, and a curveball that he doesn’t feature much. The ERA leaves quite a bit to be desired, but his fastball is enticing to watch. In July, he struck out seven straight hitters for Greenville against the Rome Emperors. He can potentially be a backend starter for the Red Sox, but he has to bring his ERA down to stick anywhere above Portland. Right now, he profiles as a reliever who could become a legitimate starting candidate.

White Sox lawsuit.
Sounds like a Greg quote. Except it would be about Maher. Don't think Rogan's a big war hawk, either. Going by the recent White House prayer circle, I'm more concerned that faith is perceived as equal to modern medicine/technology.

Ummm...indiscriminate regime change leads to predicably worsening outcomes, skyrocketing gas prices and $39 trillion in debt. FCC says two sides. Salk was funded by Soros!!! Measles are a hoax.
