  1. They will wait until at least early June for a move like this...and they’ll want a pitcher who will be under control for next year due to the uncertainty with Rodon and Lynn. Duffy is going to be a big name the Royals will try to max out a return on, not sure they trade him to a divisional rival without a surcharge, though. Sonny Gray of the Reds would be another.
  2. They also have well-travelled, former big league manager Jerry Narron helping out as major league instructor, bench coach for Boston last year, fwiw.
  3. Still 142 games...will play well into September, usually finish in late August.
  4. Burger was having trouble here even staying on his feet during pregame defensive drills...from 2017.
  5. Benny Bailey? Any relation to Beetle?
  6. One fastball at 99.4 All the others topped out at 98.2, but definitely an uptick from where he was 7-10 days ago with his velocity.
  7. Well, throwing Crochet into the frying pan worked there...ideally, he starts with a clean inning, though.
  8. Should have just started the inning with Crochet....clean slate, no runners on, Larnach's a lefty, etc.
  9. Who's the next relief pitcher to replace him in Charlotte? Ruiz and Marshall as the bottom of the pen...this is where it would help to have Kopech, instead of "wasting" his innings the other night in a blowout.
  10. Astudillo is the new Ehire Adrianza. Where do they get all these guys? Arraez is basically their MVP...after Buxton. Piranhas, Part II.
  11. 94 MPH fastballs in this day and age won't cut it...unless he keeps them all down in the zone.
  12. Here we go...not many choices, putting Bummer or Crochet in here seems a bit premature. This isn't Game 3 of the ALDS.
  13. Amazingly, Grandal only trailing Madrigal by 31 OPS points. .295 vs. .125 BA's. Looks like Maeda gets at least one hitter if not the whole middle of the line-up for the bottom of the 6th.
  14. It's called the Mark Johnson/Royce Clayton rule. Usually, it's when there are runners on base in front of him...although he's actually coming through a bit more recently, OPS still south of 500 isn't much to praise.
  15. Really good recovery from Cease, battled all night long. BETTER BE FINISHED FOR THE GAME, NONE OF THIS "LET'S SEE IF WE CAN GET HIM AN INDIVIDUAL WIN CRAP"
  16. Not only Tatis, but also Profar and Mateo...doesn't have any actual symptoms, so might be able to avoid missing 8-10 days if he passes all the protocols. No indications of not following league guidelines. https://www.mlb.com/news/fernando-tatis-jr-jurickson-profar-jorge-mateo-on-il
  17. LV Nashville Charlotte/Durham Montreal Portland SLC Mexico City (outside of the box, would be hard to get the union to approve)...if not, somewhere like Juarez or Nuevo Laredo that are on the border/s. Vancouver's too close to Seattle, one would imagine. Indianapolis. Texas already has three teams, but the Austin/Round Rock area has massive growth now. Columbus (maybe, but already CLE and Cincy struggling as smaller market teams) Sacramento Louisville
  18. Cubs, 1st and 2nd, 1 out and down 3-2 against CLE closer Clase in the top of the 9th. High drama.
