  1. How many times must SoxTalk have this same conversation about Eloy Jimenez's defense? If we can all so obviously see it, what is being DONE about it by the coaching staff? He just had no sense of immediacy to get out of the net and retrieve the ball. The thing that's most upsetting is not realizing the baseball situation there and that it was a live ball and not a ground rule double...expecting the umpire to signal Yelich to second base. NOW Abreu can't figure out he needs to leave the freaking bag and then find it again with his foot. We didn't make these kind of mistakes in PONY or COLT League. Error on Abreu. Never used the bag to elevate or stretch to the ball, either.
  2. Can you imagine Eloy ever playing 2B/SS? No, I really can't.
  3. Well, we always say the White Sox don't get any national media attention. That's going to be on the highlight reel of every broadcast, local news, ESPN, MLB Tonight, etc. Fred Hickman and Nick Charles will return just for that. Might as well throw in TWIB Notes/Baseball Blunders with Mel Allen, with the cool soundtrack on Saturdays. Gio is really off PISSED on the mound. Can hear him audibly cursing.
  4. This is one of those situations where Ozzie/Cora would pull someone out of a game. Didn't happen very often, with Alex Rios a couple of times.
  5. NOPE. It was Jimenez's body, and it bounced or ricocheted off, so still in play. Took an absolutely TERRIBLE route to that ball. Haven't seen a worse route since Kevin Reimer/Pete Incaviglia in Texas, or Lonnie Smith with the Cardinals.
  6. WHAT DID I SPEND THE LAST 24 HOURS TALKING ABOUT? Not only did he miss the catch, he almost hurt himself falling into the stands....to boot.
  7. That's like comparing the Taiwanese National Little League Team with Bettendorf (Iowa). No no no no no. He just has been out of sorts in this series, but he's going to be a GREAT hitter. One of the 5-10 best in the NL in the next 2-3 years. How did the Pirates walk off the Twins today? MN, Cubs, NYY all coming back to the pack, haha.
  8. Moncada has no discipline to withhold the urge to give up a strike with the fake bunt, instead of getting ahead in counts and thus allowing for the drilling of center-cut fastballs. 7 strikeouts, 2 double plays....what was the other out tonight for the White Sox?
  9. That ball fielded down the line was BARELY foul, but almost impossible for the umpire to call it from that angle...was crossing the line exactly as he fielded it. BAD LUCK.
  10. How many double plays have we hit into in last two nights? I think that's 5. Two tonight in back-to-back innings.
  11. Your WHAT hurts? Doesn't seem very likely, but the slider speed bat matches Lindbloom stuff better. Rifled past Arcia for another hit by Abreu. Thatssss'a nice in Paciorek voice.
  12. Icy Hot® products are manufactured in the U.S.A, with the exception of the patches, which are manufactured in Japan.
  13. Unless you don't want to hear about the Catholic League, Notre Dame football or his relationship with Michael Milken...seriously, he was a good guy, will miss the camaraderie with DJ. I'm sure he's happy not to have to talk about Mesothelioma or Plumbers and Pipefitters unions anymore, or the Village of Bedford Park. Then there's always Alex and Ursula Snelius.
  14. Better than ICY HOT. Miami tied with terrible BALT team 6-6, could be on the verge of 5-1. Nice job Leury getting rid of that ball pretty quickly instead of showboating around out there to make the play at 1st closer.
  15. Pirates trending to win somewhere around 9-13 games. They're awful.
  16. Can someone ask Renteria after the game why Moncada's wasting so many cookies with those stupid fake bunts? It's not like he is Alexei Ramirez or Juan Uribe.
  17. Having the 2-0 count there would have put him in the catbird's seat...but at least laid off the first one. 16 swings and misses alone in this series, but still doing damage. 16 strikeouts, 17 hits on the season. Both lead the team. OBP over .400, 957 OPS before tonight. Swung right through a hanging slider up high in the zone. ACED him with slider off the outside corner, cutter maybe. Same result.
  18. Mendick on fire. Center cut. Lots of hits coming from 2B this week.
  19. If Avi Garcia AND Omar both have two RBI singles or hits this series...? Good god, that was STRESSFUL for the top of the 3rd freaking inning.
  20. Brewers' feed shows he just missed him by inches passing by. Behind the plate view showed that he definitely missed him...super close, though.
  21. Yet Hahn believes we simply can wait on ReyLo and Rodon to come back.
  22. Missed him. And Yelich got the plate anyway. Reminiscent of Chris Taylor throw to end the game last night in SD.
  23. ALMOST had him at the plate, but allowed two runners to advance into scoring position and lost the possibility of a DP.
  24. The Chicago White Sox signed Leury Garcia to a one-year, $3.5MM guaranteed deal today, per MLB.com’s Scott Merkin. The deal includes a $3.25MM base salary for 2020 with a $3.5MM team option for 2021. The White Sox can decline next year’s option with a $250K buyout. Garcia’s deal takes the place of the one he signed in January to avoid arbitration, giving the team the option of a second season. Garcia is a client of Rep 1 Baseball. Get Sportrac on the HORN, get that one corrected, STAT.
