  1. Well, if he gets hurt again, it proves once and for all we can never rely upon him. God forbid a starting pitcher also goes down the first two months...the season will be in real jeopardy unless they’re willing to push Kopech into the rotation out of desperation.
  2. Let’s just put Adolfo out there...well, we KNOW it will end up being Leury and Engel, but would actually like to have something to be excited about, albeit temporarily.
  3. Heyward, haha. Not exactly expiring, but we’ll go through every name the next few months. Mitch Haniger would be another. Joc Pederson/Bryant, etc.
  4. Anderson at catcher with Leury to SS seems more likely...if it’s possible, he might be even slower than Vaughn or Konerko. Maybe even Crede after the back problems.
  5. Melky Cabrera Traveling Circus...come on down. Platoon with Yolmer Sanchez for maximum entertainment value and hilarious Gatorade hijinks.
  6. We should have thought of that when we allowed the Twins to completely dominate the last 4-6 weeks of the offseason. Don’t Stop Now by Dua Lipa comes to mind, or Don’t Stop Now Boys, Get it, Get It.
  7. You just know Anderson’s going to try to do too much, or Moncada covering down the line with all those lingering leg injuries of his.
  8. Sure, Robin Ventura in 97 or Frank Thomas in 2001. That was Canseco. Which was mostly a marketing sideshow, but he was actually fairly decent.
  9. With who, Crochet or Kopech? There’s a pretty bare cupboard until you get deeper into the next wave of future starters...the problem is a trade is much likelier than eating a lot of money, that much is pretty much a given for the Sox. Luring Nick Markakis or Jim Edmonds out of retirement will be the next bright idea.
  10. Or he has a collision with Robert, Anderson or Moncada due to unfamiliarity with the position...at least fewer fans means it’s easier to hear someone else calling for the ball, so there’s that.
  11. I feel like we’ve been asked to gratefully accept this type of player as a White Sox fan for my entire lifetime...when’s the last time we had a major injury and didn’t shoestring budget it?
  12. Not if you’re trying to avoid the Wild Card game...
  13. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/profile.asp?ID=170913 Because a 733 career OPS guy in LF is probably not going to be enough...
  14. Please tell me this is part of some “we’re really going with Vaughn, no desperation here!” trade machination.
  15. Well, this brings to mind Pudge Fisk to LF...all we needed to do was sign someone like Profar with positional versatility and we wouldn’t be exposing both Vaughn and Robert to injury.
  16. If Vaughn gets hurt playing LF...seems idiotic not to make a trade for someone like Tauchman.
  17. Guess you got him beat...definitely have a better member name, although nothing so distinctive as his ban bet backdowns and for a longstanding personal vendetta against Jose Abreu.
  18. We always seem to overlook the TA to catcher, instantaneous Gold Glove conversion, though.
  19. You have the most optimized ratio of likes to total comments. Congrats! I won’t make a bet on whether you can sustain that without the assistance of Ukrainian bots...
  20. Viciedo was fine his rookie year in 2012 and even had quite a few OF assists.
  21. What did Ray Ray to do to get the pitchforks out for him so much these days...?
  22. I don't think the Brewers would make that trade...it's pretty balanced, because you're getting more guaranteed years of JImenez, but Burnes has the upside to be 4-6 fWAR starting pitcher, really our most critical area of need. Jimenez is going to be hard-pressed to reach those WAR numbers unless he's Manny Ramirez/prime JD Martinez/Miguel Cabrera-eque as a hitter.
  23. Barring a significant change in the official game ball, if a certain Mets' 1B can put up 50+, Vaughn can at least go for 35-40 in his best season.
  24. Greg, you're lucky you're not in China. We can get the vaccine for free, but there's 1/4th the information you guys have in America. Even with the Chinese vaccine (no access to US/UK ones), still have mandatory 14 day quarantine entering the country... at best, should be able to travel inside of China this summer. Many foreign workers are being warned it could be months before return if they chose to leave, like for a family emergency back in the US. No control over which of the five possible vaccines we might receive. It's looking increasingly likely there won't be anything approaching free travel in and out of the country until after the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics next February. TThat's barring the mutant variants overwhelming tgecdevelioingvworod before vaccines get distributed to them first. It's a real race against time.
  25. Yeah, I saw that video, body fat % is way down, decreased time to 1B, etc. It's quite encouraging. Being around professional training and nutrition staff will really benefit him as well. And certainly not every Cuban can be transformed into the Winter Soldier like Luis Robert.
