7/31 Sox vs Royals GT
Can of corn. Royals have now stranded 7 runners through 5.

Two in a row. Amazing. Ryan L. with the David Eckstein comparison. Inevitable. This time, referring to his throwing motion.

Ronald Bolanos is starting tmrw for KC. Still no announcement on Sunday starter.

Anderson heading for the MLB error lead again this season...that one really looked awkward, got his feet tangled up there somehow. We can always bring in Semien and move Anderson to LF/RF, lol. Or catcher's spot.

Franco isn't much faster than Salvy Perez. Moncada wisely realized he didn't have to bare-hand that one.

Out for son's graduation today....but yeah, normally the case. Soler has lost a LOT of weight, he looks like Alphonso Soriano up there now. Cuban to a Cuban to retire another Cuban (Soler). Brilliant announcing work there, Ryan L.

USD converted into Cuban pesos? Guess Grandal breaks that trend with #24 for Joe Crede Shanked Ball to RF Tribute.

7/31 Sox vs Royals GT
How many more plate appearances does he need before he's qualified for Bottom 5-10 in MLB?

We're pretty fortunate to be missing Duffy and Singer, all things considered (although the other two spots for KC were TBD so that might change.) Definitely no Singer, since he went last night.

It's going to take Madrigal a week to bring up his BattedBall Velocity after that checked swinger.

Pac 12 match-up, Madrigal vs. Bubic.

7/31 Sox vs Royals GT
Between the LiMu Emu and Blue-Emu/Johnny Bench smirking grimaces, I've about had it with that particular species of animal... McCann takes one off the coconut. Bubic has to recover quickly, easy to lose focus in those situations when you're worried about the hitter being okay.

Mix in struggling Rodon innings, you're making the non-existent concessionaires very unhappy not to be in the park for those elongated games.

ACL/MCL surgery has turned Salvador Perez into one of the Flying Molina Brothers...

LOL. That first one to Mondesi was WAY low for a strike. White Sox historically bad defense the last 5 years coming under attack by Royals' announcers. Who'd a thunk it. Comparing to 2013-2016 Royals' teams, that's a pretty tough standard to live up to.

Whit Merrifield is one of the five most criminally underrated players in MLB.

ROBO/AI umps please. Jesus, that was an inconsistent strike zone. Both teams should be pissed, if it's going to be like that all night.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
How many will have lifetime or shorter term life-altering complications...? Watch what all the politicians and media personalities do. None of their kids are going to be crowded together in underfunded, unprepared public schools. We’re about to cancel a baseball season out of safety concerns for 900 mostly 1%ers and above...because nobody can follow the rules. Why should K-12 students in outbreak areas be treated any differently? Somehow we expect middle school students to be more responsible than at any time since World War Two and the Great Depression? Why would it be reasonable to conclude that THEY can handle that immense responsibility when their parents and political leaders and scientists cannot agree on 2-3 common rules to follow in order to control the spread?

MLB COVID-19 outbreaks: None of as Sept 18
Owner/leader aligned with interests of billionaires/corporate interests Pretends to be for common people/the fans Won’t put punitive policies or strict regulations in place/consistently blames others and refuses to be accountable for doing “what’s in the best interest of the sport/the greatest good for the greatest number” Where have we seen this scenario play out? Can’t think of any recent or relevant examples to apply.

The American League RBI champ hitting 8th...might as well throw George Springer into that lineup for Joc, although Jackie Bradley, Jr., seems even more likely IMO.

Are you related to Tony Gwynn? You’re taking that tobacco habit a bit more seriously than anyone else, considering it’s a product legally sold to those of the age of consent in America, not unlike alcohol. Now you can argue MLB should set a better example for kids, even be role models (see Hollywood and advertising bans on smoking)...but there are many areas where adults certainly SHOULD be better role models and yet we simply argue that we need to protect our freedoms instead of finding common ground on universal values. It can’t be both ways, selective, only when we personally find something distasteful. Aren’t we then essentially legislating morality for others?

Do they have time to do that, a full reset? What’s the minimum number of games they would need to play to get into a post-season? 40, 42, 45? 50? Anything under 40 sounds pretty ridiculous. 54 at least is 1/3rd a season, the magical mark Hawk always referred to as “you have a pretty good idea what you’ve got after 1/3rd of a season, essentially two full months of competition.”

MADRIGAL CALLED UP! (Herrera DFA)
No Magical Madrigal, Javier Baez already has that nickname, albeit en Espanol. The rebuild will be over when Vaughn is added to the line-up, and likely either a corner outfielder or veteran starting pitcher in free agency. Also need to replace Colome.

More rule changes for 2020?
Those 4 innings are going to be huge if you keep playing games in August and September without any off days, adding another 10-20 IP per week of high leverage/playoff-type games...and multiple doubleheaders per month if not per week. Even with expanded pitching staffs, it's going to take a huge toll on the starters as well as top 3-4 relievers on the back end. Having those guys go multiple innings 2-3 times per week, without having had a full spring training, it's just a recipe for disaster.
