  1. Sucks that 3 of top 12-13 guys are sitting...free the Kraken.
  2. Not even close on SANCHEZ...is Ozzie still bringing down bad umpiring karma?
  3. Way too tentative...needs to trust his stuff against heart of the lineup.
  4. Thompson and Narvaez have to be “worth” -3 to -4 wins...
  5. Another Red Sox friendly strike call...Anderson’s ball 4 was closer.
  6. Advanced scouting reports are catching up with Palka...time to make an adjustment.
  7. Solid D by Davidson. Running at will on López, but Narvy needs to stop bouncing throws as well...
  8. Harris isn’t ready to be president yet...I could see her running, but she needs some more experience (especially with international affairs.) The Republican plan to engineer a Red Wave reversal (especially in the Senate)... https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/08/opinion/sunday/if-theres-a-red-wave-election-in-2018-this-will-be-why.html
  9. From the box score, the second caught stealing was Robert being picked off. He’d been sacrificed to 2B after reaching on an infield error...so he was the go-ahead run in the Top of the 9th and was either stealing third or trying to get too big of a lead. No need there to force something when a runner with his speed can score on almost any ball to the outfield with either 1 or 2 outs. You don’t steal third unless you’re sure, and he’d already been caught stealing once earlier in the game. Just goes to show “elite” speed and basestealing instincts don’t always go together, especially when he’s missed so much playing time the last two years.
  10. http://www.espn.com/college-baseball/game?gameId=38160109 Rutschman breaks through with two out single to untie game in top of the 9th...Minnesota relief corps imploding, 6~3 now, based still loaded.
  11. Everyone’s going to move after their respective league All-Star games... 2/3 for Robert, 6/20 now. Caught stealing, seems they’re not restricting his baserunning.
  12. Without Chris Paul injury, could easily ave gone the other way...and Celtics looked like they had at least a 50/50 shot at CLE. Indiana came very close as well.
  13. Robert with a single, 5/18. 278/739 in very early going.
  14. Cole has MUCH better control...he’s more likely to end up another version of F.Liriano, as much promise/potential as results.
  15. Reddy’s attitude on this is a compelling reason we likely see a Sanders/Warren 2020 ticket that once again threatens to split the party...all Clinton had to do was bring Sanders onto the “unification” ticket but we got Kaine jammed down our throats instead (due to Clinton campaign hubris).
  16. I only need to look at a picture and hear him speaking a couple of time to tell you D’Allesandro was toast... But it’s not just Pete. In nearly every contested Democratic primary this year, candidates are straining to sound like the Vermont senator. The party’s new crop of presidential hopefuls is already echoing his applause lines from 2016, threatening to remake the Democratic Party in Bernie’s disheveled image. What that means for Sanders’ voice in the national party—and his 2020 prospects—still remains to be seen. Here in Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, which spans from the state capital west to the Nebraska border and south to the Missouri one, and where six Democrats are vying for the opportunity to unseat Republican Rep. David Young, the progressive choir has made it difficult to distinguish the actual Bernie disciple. All six Democratic candidates are running on a policy agenda similar to Sanders’, and several also have more cash than D’Alessandro, a more compelling personal story to share with voters, or both. “I think we’d all show up and probably vote the same,” said Eddie Mauro, a former teacher who now runs his own insurance firm and is one of the Democrats vying for the nomination. “If we had a chance to raise the minimum wage, we’re gonna vote to raise the minimum wage. If we had the chance to vote for single-payer health care, we’re all gonna vote for single-payer health care.” https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2018/02/can-bernie-win-an-iowa-race-where-everybody-sounds-like-him.html
  17. Hopefully Moncada is close to bottoming out...has lost about 50 more ops points since the homer to CF in Minny.
  18. Quintana has good/very good stuff. btw, is Yolmer now sitting against all LHP? On the bench two in a row...
  19. If we aren’t contending then, the whole organization needs to be gutted...
  20. https://670thescore.radio.com/media/audio-channel/mully-hanley-jason-mcleod-brad-biggs-rick-hahn-interviews-hour-4 Roughly 25 min mark...35 mins addresses FA possibilities. Seems Fathom overreacted a bit here. Typical Hahnspeak If anything, while the record is worse than most predicted, the key parts of the rebuild are all acquitting themselves well. Rodon’s back. We can’t say that Giolito/Fulmer and now Moncada struggling should keep them from investing wisely beginning this offseason...any more than we should count on Lopez, Fry, Davidson, SANCHEZ, Covey and Palka. To me, Anderson solidifying his spot might be the most important development of all so far. Not to mention 6-8 “impact arrivals” from the minor leagues between now and 2020. We can’t afford to wait back until after 2019 and suddenly hope to compete without laying part of the foundation in this year’s class.
  21. Even if ALL SEVEN million families affected by ACA (NOT getting subsidies, rates rising dramatically in the indendent pools)...voted against the DEMS, you’re going to have tens of millions of families on the other side of the equation that will be losing coverage altogether due to affordability concerns, buying “cheap/no frills” policies they only find out later don’t really cover anything and then ALL those Americans with pre-existing conditions who are going to be infuriated to see their coverage denied OR rates rising 50-100% per year (if they’re lucky)...that’s the most popular piece of the ACA (along with parents keeping kids up to 25 or 26 on their family plans), and it’s going to be used as a cudgel over the head of the GOP in November. And don’t think all those getting bonuses or small tax cuts (mostly middle class/upper middle class) aren’t all going to blame the Administration when their gas prices continue to increase because of global instability (that’s partially American-induced), and that consumers are going to be happy to be paying 25-50% higher costs for any good made with steel/aluminum. Iowa soybean and pork farmers aren’t going to be fooled this time around when their markets have been lost to the Brazilians or Canadians.
