  1. Dont know whats going on with Sale's pitch selection this year...and why he's allowing so many batters to key on his fastball. Or doubling up with either changes or sliders when he does throw it. It's going to be completely ridiculous if May records 4 of 6 career victories against the Sox. Although lefties with average stuff have always owned us historically.
  2. Goldschmidt and Rizzo are pretty darned close in OPS and war. Rizzo has a huge advantage in stolen bases....over any 1b.
  3. Well, they were supposed to face the Cubs in the 2017 World Series according to SI.com.
  4. QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 23, 2015 -> 07:43 AM) They also lead the majors in homers, and by a mile. (on a side note -- a certain other team is tied for 28th). Springer, Gattis and Carter have all been struggling for most of the season, too.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ May 23, 2015 -> 06:15 AM) The Morales/Chris Young production is nauseating. Guys of the scrap heap are the major reason they're on top. And Hosmer. Moustakas, Cain, Escobar, Perez and Gordon aren't the scrap heap...or Herrera, Davis, Holland, Hochevar, Ventura and Duffy. You can put Young, Morales, Rios, Orlando, Infante, Medlen, Guthrie and Vargas on that list...of course, those are also all players Hahn had equal access to sign. Ironic he was voted comeback player in the AL....the Mariners didnt try to keep him, and now they have a pitching shortage again with Walker and Iwakuma struggling and Paxton not as good as last season either.
  6. Is retiral a word? Number retiring/retirement ceremony. Carry on.
  7. http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/mlb/miam...le21754098.html Jennings, Cishek and Stanton booed. Latos and Henderson Alvarez hurt. Jennings 0-5 on headed for the worst homestand record in Marlins' history. http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/mlb/miam...le21745452.html And from the this would never happen with Ozzie Guillen around category, all the players ended up skipping an important (and expensive) Marlins' charity function....only the coaching staff showed up. Being tired and the losing streak were the reasons put forth. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-leag...V8xBHNlYwNzcg-- http://miami.marlins.mlb.com/mia/community...h_and_chips.jsp Michael Morse was one of the players scheduled to attend.
  8. Damn lawless white people!
  9. DBacks tie it. Goldschmidt homer with two strikes two outs off Rondon. Go Yasmany Tomas. Back to back? Crowd really into this one.
  10. Great slide at home by Shuck on the second run. Aaron Hicks robbed Sanchez...nifty play there.
  11. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 22, 2015 -> 08:33 PM) Bob James says hello. Thigpen has the saves record, Roberto Hernandez the longevity...let's see how long he can keep it up. In terms of sheer dominance, Jenks in his first couple of seasons, although obviously different styles.
  12. Wow a successful stolen base. Bad throw from Suzuki. It worked out.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2015 -> 08:21 PM) I used to be annoyed that Hoiberg built Ia St on transfers, but he simply showed he was a few years ahead of his peers. Tarkanian...Billy Tubbs....Lon Kruger...Bob Huggins....Sampson
  14. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 22, 2015 -> 08:19 PM) Jeff Hornacek has a much better chance I was joking. You can have Adam Haluska back.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 22, 2015 -> 08:15 PM) Just don't let him be VDN. Please. Doug Collins to Ames.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2015 -> 08:13 PM) Hasn't this Thompson guy owned the Sox this year? Too bad it's not Taylor Thompson. We might be able to scratch a run across.
  17. Great recovery from the lackluster first inning. Should be a 2-1 Sox lead. Best streak to retire 17 consecutive by a Sox pitcher this season.
  18. Hicks narrowly missed a triple there...solid play by Abreu.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2015 -> 07:49 PM) Much like Micah Johnson, Sanchez has got to be able to turn on an occasional big league fastball. He looks flat out overmatched at this level. .458 Ops entering tonight. Leury numbers. Cabrera totally guessing there....looking curve and got the local express. This better not be the second night in a row all four AL Central teams win and the Sox somehow lose. 2-6 against the 5th best team in the division isn't redeemable without a minor miracle.
  20. Poor Fathom. Morales/VMart strikes again.
  21. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 22, 2015 -> 06:40 PM) Talking about in the bottom of the first with a answer DA! Hey, that was my research, lol.
  22. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 22, 2015 -> 06:23 PM) Why does Jeff suck so much early in the game? Has he always been like this? Why do the White Sox only score first 20% of the time? Not prepared to play? That second run was inexcusable. Things you can control...White Six will make mistakes and give you opportunities to take advantage of...that simple.
  23. "Every organization in baseball is giving the green light to run at will on the White Sox until they gameplan a counter against it." From batting practice conversations..... DJ But it's not on the coaching staff. It's all on Hahn for Flowers and Soto.
  24. "D.J. is a born leader," Goff said. "There's no question about it. It's going to take a little bit of time for these guys to adjust to him. He's always had the ability to make people feel and perform better than what they are, which is what it takes in a great manager. It takes that mentality to get people to play above their ability." Marlins.com This is the exact same thing we heard repeatedly about Ventura. Let's see it!!!
