Ishbia taking control by 2029?
Advertising/sponsorship falloffs would be one area to look at…with such abysmal tv ratings.

Ishbia taking control by 2029?
https://www.cnbc.com/2025/04/11/mlb-valuations-2025-chicago-white-sox.html This would put Sox debt at $193.5 million...but most calculations out there are closer to the $125-150 range. Twins at $425-450 million. https://www.cnbc.com/2025/04/11/cnbcs-official-mlb-team-valuations-2025.html

Ishbia taking control by 2029?
The two teams who have lost the most in RSN/broadcast revenues (by far) have been the Sox and Padres, compared to where things stood just two short years ago. Twins and Guardians are right up there, along with all the NL Central teams not named Cubs/Cardinals. The Coasts have won, basically...with very few exceptions like the two just mentioned.

GT Sox Vs Detroit
OTOH, they're still disrespecting the White Sox to the point where they believe they can hold Tarik Skubal back for the Cubs on the weekend and STILL go 3-1 or 4-0 against the Sox regardless. As it worked out, that backfired in reality. When that kind of thing stops...then you know you're starting to earn more respect around the majors.

Ishbia taking control by 2029?
The next market inefficiency. Having the financial wherewithal (and no debt or at least positive incoming cash flow guaranteed through other avenues) to hold out for 2-3 months and "corner the market" on free agents with below par value deals compared to any other "regular" or "normal" year of FA. It will be the Dodgers, Mets, Cubs (maybe?), Yankees, Red Sox (maybe?), Giants (from missing all their previous big targets like Aaron Judge and new determination w/ Buster Posey), Angels, Braves, Phillies, Rangers and Blue Jays (maybe?) that are the most aggressive teams here.

Ishbia taking control by 2029?
Absolutely have to get two frontline starters from BIRM and your future closer or it's almost back to the drawing board. Then you're having to wait on the 2026 Top 1-5 NCAA draft pick to make a dent somewhere near-term down the line. Vargas and Meidroth feel like really quite good "complementary" players on a playoff team, but they're still far from stars (or the next Dustin Pedroia/Altuve). Still don't know exactly what they have with Baldwin, Quero and Sosa (could go either way).

6/5 Games
Braden 1/3 with a BB, .240/757 Winston Salem on the verge of going 18-36 (Birmingham with the much better record but almost no positional prospects, maybe Bergolla ends up a utility infielder.) Mogollon (SS) having a nice season so far for KANNY as well.

6/5 Games
Montgomery at .197/.664 Back up off the deck...but let's get that OPS up to 750-775 before they start talking about a promotion. Not to mention it wouldn't be fair to push Meidroth off SS at any rate. Pitching in shambles for the most part, though.

Teel being called up
Maybe just maybe they're feeling a LITTLE bit of pressure to provide some entertainment value before Smith, Taylor, Schultz and eventually Braden/Bonemer in 2026... Plus, this is their big opportunity to move some chips in and see what they can get offensively before guys like Tauchman and Slater and Robert get dumped on other teams.

Teel being called up
That would limit him to 130 plate appearances.

Ishbia taking control by 2029?
2020-2022 were the only high payroll years...then one can argue about 2023 for a market the size of Chicago.

CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago
"Whatever the case, the nightmare is over, and the games are about to return. Of course, considering the teams, that opens the possibility of many other nightmares." Ha.

Teel being called up
Please be Capra or Palacios. Couldn't be Rojas after today and with Sosa out. Quero down the third option?

He's a success just NOT being Grifol. Like Venture replacing Guillen in 2012. Then it all just fell apart.

GT Sox Vs Detroit
Without a closer....they will never be able to put up long winning streaks, and they still don't have enough power in the middle of the lineup. They also were swept by Baltimore. Over 162 games you are what you are.
