  1. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jun 28, 2012 -> 03:26 AM) $5 million, option for another year. Is it really fair to lower (his agent would use the word "cut") his salary after this season?
  2. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jun 28, 2012 -> 03:24 AM) huh? We're not trading anybody now, not when we're competing for the division title. We'll be buyers if anything. I know that, but it's pretty incredible we could trade all three of those guys to other teams and perhaps not eat ANY salary and NOT want to do it...coming into season, that possibility wasn't even conceivable.
  3. What contract would you offer to AJ for 2013?
  4. Youkilis up to a .708 OPS. When's the last time we had a 3B at over .700? Crede. Seems like more than 4-5 years ago.
  5. How many would ditch Rios TODAY if we could get rid of his entire contract? Man. Interesting decisions for KW this next month. There's just no way they could trade Peavy, Rios or Dunn. Not with Youkilis now on board. And there's not a RF replacement in sight, unless they brought back CQ, haha.
  6. Amazingly, we're only 8 runs scored behind the Yankees this year. Doesn't really seem possible. Garcia helping out his former club. 7 consecutive outs, stranded runners at 2nd and 3rd when he came in originally. Bottom of the 7th. Indians' announcers getting demoralized a bit.
  7. Flowers still out OPSing Alexei with the .176 BA through 51 AB's (9 hits).
  8. What the hell are we going to do with the catching position next year? Can't believe our rebuild is going to involve bringing back AJ, but it's either that, a trade, or Doumit/Ianetta.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 28, 2012 -> 03:10 AM) Does the Tribe have any pieces left they can deal without hurting the major league team? Maybe Chisenhall, if they decide they can take the risk of him not blowing up into a stud like Kipnis. They could offer Chisenhall, Jeanmar Gomez and LaPorta? They have the veteran Hannahan. There's not going to be much interest in Damon, Kotchmann or Duncan. Maybe SD will trade Headley and CQ? Don't know their system so well...they definitely were hurt by dealing 2 of their 3 best young pitching prospects for Ubaldo last July.
  10. Gray was with us, right? Then I think he went to the Mariners? Another victim of the numbers game, like Stults or Quintana in the Yankees' organization.
  11. 117 homers for NY. 4-3 on Cano homer. 61 homers for the season for CLE. Need Carlos Quentin badly...more than the Tigers even.
  12. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jun 28, 2012 -> 03:01 AM) So what's Fukodome doing these days? Rehab assignment. Danks at .412. Rios at .300 and 832 OPS. Alexei with more a bit respectable 575 OPS. Leadoff A-Rod double. Heart of the Yankees' order coming up. Cano only a .164 hitter with RISP this year. Hawk would be surprised by that stat.
  13. White Sox still 5th in AL runs scored, despite their recent struggles. Except for the Rangers and Red Sox, within hailing distance of the Yankees and Blue Jays for 3rd and 4th. Guess we can't fire Da ManTO just yet.
  14. I think Greg believes he's been banned now...?
  15. LOL. We don't have any choice in how much we're going to pay Rios in 2013 and 2014. We do with Peavy. But there's no way it is going to be the $17-18 million that picking up his option would require us to pay him.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 28, 2012 -> 02:45 AM) Span scores on a sac fly. 9-1. 9-2.
  17. Decent throw there by Danks with all of his momentum going towards the line. Garcia escapes without any more damage being done. 3-2 Indians going into the bottom of the 5th.
  18. Damn you Kipnis. 3-2 Indians, thought they were going to get out of it after a runner was thrown out at the plate, but 2 consecutive two out singles off Rapada.
  19. You already outproducing Morel and Hudson on the entire season. Well, almost. Minus Hudson's walk off hit. Dunn, Batista and Hamilton all tied with 24, first in AL homers. 4 RBI's for Dunn now, nice to see him back in the .210's at least. You don't want to see his average fall below .200, that's a bad scenario reminiscent psychologically of what happened in 2011.
  20. Nice hustle by Escobar there to avoid the DP.
  21. Third hit of the game for DeAza already. Apparently he's worried about Johnson and Conor Jackson coming up to replace him. White Sox hitters at only .239 in June, but .302 with RISP at least.
  22. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 28, 2012 -> 02:30 AM) Did you just talk to Glen Perkins right now? He has a live interview with the Twins' radio team in the middle of the game...right when Dunn and Rios jacked those balls back to back. Seems like a really funny guy, actually. Teahen-esque sense of humor. I guess everyone makes fun of him for his unathletic walk to the bullpen, how akward he looks. Also said the key man in the Twins' bullpen is now Burnett, who's moved up from his normal role with Burton and Perkins the closer by committee. Said their bullpen coach was getting so old, he called Burton "Jason" when the phone rang from Gardy...and then couldn't remember Robertson's name the other day, was about to call him "Nate" (old Tigers' pitcher) and the rest of the guys in pen had to tell him his name, too.
  23. Pettitte out after only 64 pitches and 4 innings. Anyone who know what happened with him? Some dude named Cody Eppley in, 2-1 Yankees now, top of the 5th.
  24. Glen Perkins said the biggest thing Youkilis will do is add to the OBP and battling opposing pitchers, fouling off lots of pitches...that the White Sox generally tend to be aggressive hitters and swing early in counts and get themselves out, not too many walks other than Dunn and Konerko (and DeAza has had a good OBP, too). Professional hitter, etc. Also mentioned how Dunn really was pulling off the ball last season...trying to live up to his contract and hit too many home runs. 5th homer against Sale this year. Makes up for the ball he let through the wickets against Ramirez earlier.
  25. First Youkilis White Sox RBI. But ill-advised first out at third base. 0 for 24 now for Dunn.
