Bruised right hand, the ubiquitous "day to day" tagline appraisal for all those situations.

Sign Greg Walker to a contract extension. This is the game where the tide turned, leading to the first ever 32-0 stretch to end a season in baseball history, twin fueled by Lilli-elf and Manny The Predator Ramirez.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 09:58 PM) Someone needs to call Delonte West...he'll be there in a few minutes with his guitar cased filled with guns....that's of course if he's not banging Gloria. Like Il Mariachi, Once Upon A Time in Mexico and Machete combined into one DEA, CIA, FBI, ATF bada**. Rios is now 5/6 with 4 RBI's after almost becoming one of the goats of the game with the DP ball (first career five hit game). Of course, we still have to close this game out. Strange that their best pitcher since May has absolutely gotten hammered. That's what is so great about baseball.

I always thought Lillibridge looked more like Elijah Wood's character in SIN CITY. Which still, basically, is elfin...or has elfine features.

Duncan, Hafner and Valbuena in the bottom of the 11th. Linebrink? Pena? They can't actually send out Harrell or Torres, can they?
-
Sox @ Indians
WHAT THE HELL?!? You've got to be kidding me! Duncan turned around twice on that ball...the announcer was shocked that ball went out. 3rd homer ever in the majors.

QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 09:49 PM) That would have been hilarious if Alexei nailed the car. Quentin just missed it. They said it has been hit only 2 times (I'm assuming they don't have it there during BP).

The thing that sucks is we absolutely had this team dead in the water and could have had the knockout blow early.... Then Pierre was thrown out stealing and AJ hit into that DP ball and you just had a sense we were going to let the Indians back into it with how poorly we've played against them all season. And of course Rafael Perez has something like a 1.5 ERA since the middle of May.

QUOTE (longshot7 @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 09:45 PM) Just tuned in after turning the game off in the 6th. Can someone describe what the hell happened since then? Bobby Jenks happened. Somehow, he managed to not completely blow it, they had the winning run at 2B with no outs after a classic Lillibridge bonehead play and survived to fight on into extra innings.

Suffering prolonged. Can we please get Ramirez to the plate? I don't understand why he couldn't make it for this game. JR should have chartered a freaking private plane if he's already spending $3.8 million for 31 games.

Sox @ Indians
Just don't let Choo hit one out. If Travis Hafner's going to get 4 hits in one night and a walk off homer, then I'm okay with that.
-
Sox @ Indians
It would be insane to leave Jenks out there for the 10th... Linebrink in.
-
Sox @ Indians
Of course.... Start the marketing campaign for 2011...Chris Sale and Gordon Beckham (These First Rounders Actually Don't Suck for A Change)
-
Sox @ Indians
When's the last time we got a timely hit with the bases loaded? It seems like it has been weeks now...ever since the Orioles/Twins series, we have been in a complete funk in these situations.
-
Sox @ Indians
Called that....along with half of those left posting here.

Sox @ Indians
Of course, Ozzie WON'T have Rios bat and he will hit into a DP despite a 4-4 night. There's no way it doesn't happen. Either a DP or three run homer and Linebrink gives up 3 in the bottom of the 10th to keep it tied to the 11th.
-
Sox @ Indians
Why did Lillibridge try to steal yesterday and yet we didn't bunt him...when Pierre's leading the majors? Ozzie got bailed out. The big problem is can we hold the game if we only score one run?
-
Sox @ Indians
Does our bullpen really have any chance of holding up in extra innings? Guess we'll find out if Jenks can actually get out of this...
-
Sox @ Indians
Jenks is really teasing us now. Normally, the game would be over by now. This time, it seems he wants to drag out the tension an additional 3-4 minutes.
-
Sox @ Indians
4-9 versus Cleveland? Perfect.
-
Sox @ Indians
Last year we were only 2 1/2 games back and went 2-8 on a similar 10 game road trip and ended up 7 games back with our season basically over. I hope history is not repeating itself again.
-
Sox @ Indians
I knew that double play ball that AJ hit into with the bases loaded would come back to haunt us... At this point, you might as well just put in Linebrink, it couldn't get any worse.
-
Sox @ Indians
Here we go again... Jesus, Jenks. Why do you always invariably walk someone when you have a three run lead?
-
Sox @ Indians
Somehow Hafner has 3 hits against lefty pitching tonight...even when he sucks, he hits our lefties! Mark Kotsay in his salary drive for 2011...

White Sox Acquire Manny Ramirez
Manny Ramirez fantasy owners can't be real pleased at what they've received statistically over the past few months, but I'm telling you, there is a light at the end of the Manny tunnel. It's one that provides strong fantasy numbers. Ramirez's pending move from the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Chicago White Sox on Monday after being claimed from waivers is very relevant, and while the compensation remains in question, Ramirez's ability does not. This guy can still rake. Let me amend that last statement: What we've seen from Ramirez in the past is he can rake when he wants to, and one would think a move to the south side of Chicago and a pennant race would do the trick. Ramirez can't play the outfield effectively anymore, and he won't have to in the final month. I don't think his hitting prowess is a problem, though. We've seen Ramirez turn on the hitting light before with a new team late in a season. espn.com/fantasybaseball eric karabell
