  1. Shouldn't I be cheering for the Cubs? To be honest...we were there in 2023 at Tokyo Dome and while it's an interesting cultural experience, it's not a great way to watch a baseball game. In general, unless it's Minnesota in 1987/91 WS or Skydome back then...not a great atmosphere. That said, the Japanese people who are so crazy about baseball will be in heaven, though.
  2. Tokyo Series current secondary market ticket prices...in USD not yen 6th place: Cubs vs. H.Tigers, Saturday matinee, March 15 — $118 to $1,291/ticket 5th place: Cubs vs. Y.Giants, Sunday evening, March 16 — $150 to $5,901/ticket 4th place: Dodgers vs. H.Tigers, Sunday matinee, March 16 — $434 to $4,073/ticket 3rd place: Dodgers vs. Y.Giants, Saturday evening, March 15 — $578 to $3,733/ticket 2nd place: Dodgers vs. Cubs, Game 2, March 19 — $1,590 to $20,231/ticket Winner: Dodgers vs. Cubs, Opening Day, March 18 — $2,168 to $20,780/ticket https://www.truebluela.com/2025/2/5/24355122/dodgers-cubs-japan-ticket-prices#comments Not sure which games Yamamoto, Sasaki and Imanaga are starting yet...
  3. https://www.fangraphs.com/standings/playoff-odds tied with Rockies and behind the Marlins to make the playoffs https://www.baseballprospectus.com/standings/ Pecota/BP at 61-101, Marlins 62-100 and Rockies 55-107. Reds in last place in both systems. "LA has been projected by FanGraphs to have the best or second-best record in MLB 10 times in the last 12 years. That includes a 97.6-win projection for 2025 that tops the league." https://www.truebluela.com/2025/2/5/24359587/dodgers-projections-2025-fangraphs Miguel Rojas predicted 120 wins.

  5. Just talked to my cousin in Dallas and he's given up on Cowboys and Mavs...can you get Kyrie Irving to play defense?
  6. More like The End by the Doors lol.
  7. Not quite as bad as Juan Gonzalez turning down Tigers...has to get equivalent of 5/$104 million on next deal. Should put up huge numbers with Soto in that lineup.
  8. I miss mediocre, .500ish with a chance still at the trade deadline with the right move baseball.
  9. 3.8, 2.8, 2.1 slide in fWAR...and would be 31 a year from now. No more over 30 vets paying for past performance.
  10. I was joking...from a marketing perspective, they wouldn't be able to make it work anyway.
  11. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/02/mets-to-re-sign-pete-alonso.html As expected... "Pete Alonso re-signs with Mets on two-year, $54 million contract to run it back in Queens...$10 million?signing bonus." nypost.com White Sox could have had him for $20 million with no Vaughn...minus not fitting the timeline at all lol.
  12. Kerr will make it work...maybe. "The Warriors closed the deal for Butler after negotiations to acquire Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant ended when he informed the team he did not want to return to Golden State, sources said. The Warriors, Heat and Suns had been nearing an agreement on a trade that would've landed Butler in Phoenix and Durant back where he won championships in 2017 and 2018." espn.com

  14. Add Ohio State NIL lol? Iowa will never have any advantages in NIL except perhaps women's bb going forward.

  17. Four out of Top 7 AL Central...the one missing, KC, take note Getz.
  18. https://sports.yahoo.com/spring-training-position-battles-to-watch-yankees-and-mets-infield-braves-and-dodgers-rotations-and-more-221004744.html Looks like Baty will be odd man out in NY. Gonsolin and May the last two rotation members in LA with Knack Miller backing up those six plus Ohtani in May and Kershaw middle of the summer. Only ten deep. Then 3-4 more youngsters behind them lol.

  20. Right…before the surgery, and based on 2023…Boras would have argued that at 29 he was a $125-150 million player more similar to Adames due to his all-around game and strong leadership/fundamentals. The Rays rarely go big into FA, so thry must have done their due dilgence and calculated all the risks.
  21. "While the Fish could opportunistically use a Stroman, Montgomery, Matz or Walker trade as a means of effectively purchasing a prospect or two, the likelier and more straightforward path would be to finally venture into free agency. Miami isn’t going to surrender a draft pick to sign Nick Pivetta, but virtually any of the other remaining rotation arms could make sense. Among the yet unsigned names are Andrew Heaney, Kyle Gibson, Patrick Corbin, Cal Quantrill, Jose Quintana, Spencer Turnbull, Ross Stripling, Lance Lynn, Jakob Junis and Alex Wood. There also some post-injury rehab candidates to consider (e.g. Anthony DeSclafani, John Means, Jose Urquidy)." mlbtraderumors.com Looking like Marlins will sign or trade for 1-2 veteran arms here and pass White Sox to make them lowest payroll. Tim Anderson only FA deal in last two years from new GM Bendix, who replaced Kim Ng. Chris Flexen not listed lol.
  22. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/02/twins-to-sign-harrison-bader.html $6.25 Million guarantee Bader as fourth outfielder in Minny
  23. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/02/yankees-claim-braden-shewmake-waivers-royals.html Looks like Tim Hill deal getting finaluzed might bump him right off.
  24. That idea once again he cost like $2 million or whatever in 2024 salary and generated upwards of $100+ million in revenues/media attention for the Dodgers.
  25. $12 million per year isn't enough...
