White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
“Extremely athletic for a 6-foot-2, 215-pound catcher, Lackey isn't quick out of the batter's box but can flash plus run times once he gets going. He's very agile behind the plate and should become a solid receiver and blocker once he improves his focus and consistency. His strong and accurate arm is another asset, and he looked capable at third base while playing 13 errorless games there in 2025.” Basically, he has those longer strides once he gets going to make up ground…só that would apply to CF as well. But automatically one of the best CF arms, if not the best. LF Nishida CF Lackey RF Braden would give you the best arm talent of any outfield in the majors. Bonemer has at least a solid SS arm to play either corner spot, if he gets shifted to LF eventually…although here I moved him to second base. DH Antonacci (rotating) LF Sato has RF/3B ability CF Lackey 1B Murakami 3B Vargas SS Colson 2B Bonemer/Antonacci RF Braden Montgomery C Teel Best lineup in mlb potentially Sox at 732 with fifth highest mlb ops already

The UCLA 1B Levu has been the better hitter. Gasparino the most dangerous...but highly susceptible to off speed.

Would be first #1 seed to go 0-2 in regionals...Wes Clements calling it greatest upset in NCAA regional history if it actually happens.

30-25 unranked team in the Hokies about to take down UCLA. Cholowsky struggling to stay over .300. Playing strong defense, but this is it?

Great, so we don't have to hear how Cali supposedly predicted something nobody else did...and then spend years afterward rehashing how they were right and the rest of the site was wrong. 7 year old behavior, right?

Why would they sign the very worst possible players in FA? Is Hahn now the GM? They could have signed Mike Soroka for $7.5 million, though. You keep praising Getz. So why would you automatically expect him to waste $85 million on bad free agents? All we've heard for nearly three years now is he how handicapped he has been by JR's self-imposed spending limits. As far as not cheering, just f off. That's just total bullshit to say Sox fans expecting more out of this ownership group can't fucking expect at least a mid market payroll when all the debt has been paid off. Mid market average payroll now is $130-145 million, still well below MLB's projected floor of $171. Btw I have been in hours more of game threads than you this year. It's 443 am right now and I'm going back and forth between UCLA and the Sox game. But I don't have a right to cheer if I criticize the payroll limitations? Whatever pal. Thanks for the how to be a fan gatekeeping.

Why would you want to defend a large market team spending in the bottom 3? When's the last time that happened??? Are we Cleveland Miami or Oakland? Even MLB owners believe the payroll of every team should have a $171.4 million FLOOR. Which would basically mean doubling. You do realize there's a strong correlation between playoff appearances and payroll...except for CLE TB Milwaukee???

I don't remember KW having this passionate a defense, and he put up the best overall team record of any modern day Sox GM. Well, 2005 was just an anomaly/outlier and couldn't be repeated!!! The 2006 team fell apart down the stretch after being 26 games over .500 at the ASB...but wasn't that first half a whole lotta fun? Or, despite the highs of 2008, 2007 and 2009 ruined all the momentum coming out of the World Series. Back then, the bar was much higher. Look at all the criticism the 2001-2004 teams took. Those were mostly enjoyable teams to watch, too. But now we're supposed to be elated to be competing with the team in sole possession of the lowest payroll in baseball? After three long years of pretty abysmal (record setting historically) baseball...

Jacob Gonzalez called up, per Passan
Funny Jacob Gonzalez fact for me is his place of birth is Glendora, California. My high school sweetheart moved there and after my divorce, I moved there, got a place with her, and for a while thought I’d have a movie like romance story to tell. She was a cheerleader for the LA Kings. It only lasted a few months before I figured out that even though she was on Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition calendars, she was the most insecure woman I’d ever dated… which says a lot. 😆 I bounced after strike two. Clearly a response to the above...well, we already had a board war over being married/having a child validating one's successful existence in the last week or so!

Didn't they already announce the J.Gonzalez call up?

Also, 2013-2016 in Sox baseball annals was more accurately a "retooling on the fly" simply because JR didn't want the big league team to bottom out...which is eventually what transpired in 2017-18 because there just wasn't enough depth/resources around that quite solid core. In many ways, it was sparked by the Dunn/Danks failures and later by M.Cabrera/LaRoche and the Eaton/Sale mutiny under Ventura...and of course the ill-fated Shark and Shields trades that were both attempts to sell off youth for current year competitiveness, instead of sounder long range strategic planning.

The White sox are currently mediocre. The difference is, they were so bad that the expectation was lowered by many fans. The two bozos Cali referred to led the White Sox to a Top 4 overall record in the majors from 2000-2012 and still easily Top 50% in the majors if you combine it. together with 2013-2022. The White Sox aren't guaranteed anything yet. Mune doesn't have to stay in Chicago. Odds are highly against it, unless the Sox have to double their payroll between now and 2028. And the highly rated pitching depth in the minors has been decimated by injuries/non performance. Offense puts butts in the seats, but elite pitching usually wins out in the post season. See 2000-2004 Sox baseball. Right now, Martin and Taylor are the only two elite arms, with Burke somewhere in the middle. And Sandlin is still a massive question mark. The scouting report will get out quickly and he'll have to make some adjustments. This is, in the overall scheme of things, just the beginning of the second day at Gettysburg.

Sure, but look at how the Rays Brewers and Guardians get their pitching. The majority are not first round draft picks. Their prospects come from various rounds, and they all do a great job on the international side as well. Just think if the White Sox even produced 50% of what other teams get of the Dominican. The Dave Wilder Effect has lasted nearly twenty years now.

Yes, you learn that quickly dating models/influencers or cheerleaders. Do I look pretty today? Everyday question. It's a good test for a man's security/insecurities...that's definitely for sure. You find out if someone's looking for the bigger better deal pretty quickly. Provide too much freedom...basically complete freedom and you can drive yourself crazy, but controlling/possessive behavior ends up much worse. If someone doesn't want to be with you or feels they might be happier with another person...best to move on and let them go. 98% of the time nobody else will be able to make them happy either...not if someone is struggling internally to be happy with themselves. Ofc it's hard for people to realize the "me" problem, not much self reflection until it's far too late to go back and put things back together. Another mistake is assuming having a child will necessarily make them a better more caring unselfish empathetic person. Posittive elationships with parents are a key.
