  1. https://www.espn.com/mlb/player/batvspitch/_/id/3983833/tyler-holton Garver 3/5 with homer against Holton but now off the board
  2. What's Skubal's deal after next season??? $500-650 million??? 1. Gerrit Cole, $324 million In December of 2019, Gerrit Cole signed with the New York Yankees for nine years, and $324 million. Since signing the deal, he has gone 51-23 with a 3.08 ERA, and 816 strikeouts. 2. Stephen Strasburg, $245 million After the 2019 World Series, the Washington Nationals signed Strasburg to a seven-year contract, worth $245 million. Since signing the deal, the former No. 1 overall pick has appeared in just eight games, going 1-4. 3. David Price, $217 million Yamamoto $300 million. Part of Ohtani's deal going to the pitching side, obviously.
  3. This is why Ray was insistently arguing the last two months about the true value of a unicorn like Skubal Crochet Skenes here. Just doesn't lose four times in one season against the same team...even on the road in the most hostile environment you can get in baseball.
  4. Rooting for Dodgers to sweep the Cubs and then sacrificial AL team and the national media to then lose their minds... They have to come up with a more workable model short of salary caps and spending floors. Will believe it's actually halfway fair when Murakami signs anywhere other than LAD.
  5. "Fantasy" is doing what about half of baseball (18 teams?) does every single offseason...including the White Sox through the Benintendi deal.
  6. No way I'm watching any Tigers Blue Jays games... f that.
  7. Hope Baez postseason success doesn't also apply to Cubs tmrw.
  8. Great game so far...except for those who enjoy run scoring.
  9. White Sox middle infielders need to study that tag...absorbing ball going right into runner instead of reaching out jabbing and trying to pull backwards
  10. Crazy only catcher A.Kirk has lower sprint speed in the entire majors. Reminiscent of Burger having higher sprint speeds than Moncada.
  11. Naylor is hyped...lol. Mariners 64% chance to win not accounting for home field
  12. If Seattle can beat Skubal four times in one year....surely that's never happened to a Cy Young winner? Has to be annoying that a Seattle University product is doing so well for another organization. Scouting. Like Trout getting away from the Mets Yankees Phillies. Or Pujols from a KC JC to St.Louis.
  13. please win, Mariners...!!!! otherwise, JR is going to simply argue that a max $140-150 million payroll is good enough to win consistently in the AL Central...$115-130 million good enough to beat CLE KC MINN and finish in 2nd 3rd 4th
  14. R.Suarez, Giolito, Kelly, Bassitt, Quintana, Eflin and Mahle are all defined as mid tier. Wipe out the three with obvious White Sox connections. LHPers Ty.Anderson (LAA)/A.Heaney/Corbin/Cortes need one veteran to work with Smith and Schultz balance out rotation, Perez return 15-20% for lower guaranteed salary Dustin May just on rebound/flip potential
  15. Crazy how poorly that DET has been hitting, but still on the precipice of the ALCS...and it's not all on the back of Skubal either.

  17. Be wary of buying too high on Trent Grisham...unless you somehow believe that offense can continue on another team and not just an outlier of a season like Santander in 2024.
  18. https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/why-is-ben-johnson-trusting-a-29-year-old-first-time-colleague-to-coordinate-bears-offense-develop-caleb-williams-meet-declan-doyle-and-youll-understand-190819357.html Declan Doyle the 29 year old Bears' coach who will get an NFL head coaching spot in his 30s. Note: still hard for me to separate the history of positives and obvious negatives of his father Chris Doyle's tenure at Iowa, all a bit raw
  19. Realistically, someone like a Harrison Bader or Laureano (Padres likely exercise $6.5 million option) in the outfield. Naylor would be fine at 1B/DH, along with the likes of a Gallen/Merrill Kelly type for the rotation. Michael King would have gotten $160 million alone coming off 2024, but not all the injuries of 2025...so an incentives-based shorter term deal, but someone will probably beat that with guarantees. Plus he's used to being on/around playoff teams. Overall, his arm has a lot less mileage than other quality options. Also like Murakami as part of a rebranding...but Dodgers/Red Sox/Yankees could all get involved there. Bregman's moves will partially dictate, as Munetaka is second or third on the list for most teams. Still think 1B/DH is eventually home over third base.
  20. At the moment Kerkering picked up the ball: Kim was 30 feet from home Pages was 55 feet from 1B pic.twitter.com/dx3JIuw9nQ — Mike Petriello (@mike_petriello) October 10, 2025
  21. "And it sent the Dodgers to the NL Championship Series for the seventh time in 10 years, their hopes of becoming Major League Baseball's first repeat champions in a quarter century still very much in play." That is only the second time a playoff series ended on a walk off error, the other being the 2016 ALDS-1 when the Rangers' Rougned Odor committed the error that let ... "That was just an awful sequence for Kerkering, his teammates, and Phillies fans everywhere. The error also made history. The Phillies' loss to the Dodgers was the first postseason series in history to end in a walk-off error. That's a fact that adds insult to injury for everyone involved. Los Angeles now moves on to its fourth NLCS in the last six seasons."
