  1. And the second collapse is officially over. Tockey OU gw homer over batter's eye in CF. GaTech Friday starter never looked comfortable coming in as a reliever. Have to go back to post Garciaparrra/Teixeira/Varitek daysdays long years ago since Tech advanced to Super Regionals.
  2. Ga Tech really feeling a bit of panic...crazy the psrallels between the 1-2 teams this weekend. Tech SS saved the loss for now with an amazing throw at SS from his knees.
  3. Based on the career arcs of Hagen and the risks attendant with Schultz's height/frame, McDougal's high velo and Oppor's erratic seaon...that's even scarier. Look how long it took to get one dominant season out of Rodon...and how much time lost to injury. Same with Crochet. Any team only could have signed him for a song before 2001.
  4. At this point, everything is getting microanalyzed game by game since this could be the very last look for weeks. Seems like the pendulum will swing back towards Cholowsky if OU blows 6 and 4 run leads in back to back games. That's also illogical/emotional decision making in the moment. Tech just got lucky with that play to get the dp and out of the inning. That said OU could have made outs the last two runs scored just as easily. Razor thin margins.
  5. Ga Tech manager stuck with his reliever too long.
  6. Didn't have the opportunity to even catch that ball on the play at the plate... 7-5 Ga Tech Top of 8
  7. That's why Doyle gave Roch the advantage there...the break out sophomore season. He looked at 15 different categories, including soft skills like leadership (had personally interviewed him three times, including high school when he turned down a $3 million bonus), where he also deferred to Cholowsky, but that was before the multiple game collapse this past weekend. Is their any indication Roch even likes the Sox...compared to SFG? And didn't the same thing get said about Madrigal and Vaughn...totality of their ncaa careers were dominating? Casey at OSU said Madrigal was the best player in the country when he recruited him out of Cali...and had already been on various national teams.
  8. BPA...plus now there are some emerging questions/concerns about his health maintenance at the catching spot.
  9. That last swing was a good one...just didn't square it up on the bat and got under it a bit. Murakami looked terrible for the entire WBC this last year until hitting a GS against an Australian reliever who wouldn't get out of A ball in what became a blowout. Next up is Kansas.
  10. Just got under it. 22 games in a row getting on base streak in jeopardy after tearing apart the first two regional games. .486 and over 1.000 slugging percentage during that critical 6 week time period. UCLA pretty much went the opposite direction as an offense at that same time.
  11. Getting better every single season? Or peaking/plateauing early? Look at Ethan Salas. Top 10-15 milb prospect to out of the Top 100 and then back again like Colson. Development is not always linear. But in this case, it has been. 2025 numbers at GA TECH...higher average than Cholowsky this season .347 .421 .500 .921 A lot of scouts had Lackey on their top 15 lists based on his dynamic physical tools alone coming into this year's college season. But who knows....based on two games, they're taking Burress, lol. He was head of the class when this mock came out.
  12. Yeah I think the real untold story here is how this owner at the same age as 46/47 has completely turned over a new leaf and totally revitalized and transformed the organization with his youthful energy and can do spirit. It's practically infectious.
  13. Surely, the White Sox will be adding Tarik Skubal for the second half with this recent injection of incomparable attendance revenue. Braves and Dodgers series will average 31-32,000 across six games.
  14. Cali has a point. Some people just glory in being online bullies. At least Balta never acted that way. I guess insulting Tray has gotten boring for everyone, so recycling through your tried and true targets. So you win the internet today, congrats. Whatever! Heard the same exact crap for twenty years, what's another twenty?
  15. dont be a Panic(k)an joking
  16. 60-49 hard hit rate advantage 2% barrel rate advantage huge discrepancy in ops speed and throwing arm best overall swing mechanics... ascendancy/rising trajectory over last 2-3 seasons vs plateauing/peak reached last year age biggest personality/star power charisma...Rikuu Nishida infectious smile and positive attitude vs quiet/stock competency that gets you to about the halfway point 5+ fWAR catcher versus 3-4.5 fWAR SS the fact that there's only 3-5 elite catchers in the entire sport....versus 10-15 at SS, including Colson already
  17. It's fine...star quality will inevitably rise to the top today.
  18. Some deluded Guardians fans believe that Taylor Swift will financially assist new minority owner Travis Kelce extend DeLauter, Messick and Bazzana. That's cute. Welcome to Wrexham II...? Major League IV?

  24. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/ucla-stunned-no-1-national-seed-eliminated-from-ncaa-tournament/ Even BA is pushing the Brandon Crawford parallel/SFG angle now. Now comes a month and a half of waiting. Cholowsky entered the season as the consensus favorite to be selected first overall in July’s MLB Draft. He’s still a strong candidate. But whether he ultimately hears his name called first remains one of the most fascinating storylines in the class. Momentum around players such as Grady Emerson and Vahn Lackey has only intensified as draft day approaches, and the debate at the top of the board feels more open than it did a few months ago. That discussion will play out over the coming weeks. What won’t change is what Cholowsky accomplished at UCLA. There is an odd historical parallel that now feels impossible to ignore. Brandon Crawford and Cholowsky are the only two shortstops in UCLA history to play for Bruins teams that entered a season ranked No. 1 in the Baseball America Top 25. Neither team escaped its own regional. Crawford went on to build an accomplished MLB career and is one of the most beloved players in San Francisco Giants history. Maybe fate has another connection in store. Maybe the Giants will find a way to make Cholowsky the latest Bruin shortstop to head north to the Bay Area.
