Unfortunately the guy in the Robert jersey got knocked out. Was predicting he would be wearing a TA jersey instead.

Robert
Things came so easily to him physically he usually looked like he was loafing…he just glided around CF on defense. And his attitude was quite similar to Moncada’s. Very passive or seemingly indifferent. The anti-Paul O’Neill.

Alex Rios and Leury say sure what’s the worst that could possibly happen? Greg is still traumatized by Rios.

The Sox aren't spending "right now"
Is this like the KW wrong name on the fax trick? We probably would try to convince fans AlonSo and BurnEs had replacements in the multiverse. In all seriousness, I tried to convince myself Benintendi was playable for next season. But he has AVERAGED a -11 defensively in fWAR over almost three full seasons. So he’s an ideally a DH but with well below average offensive numbers for these two seasons with the Sox. Which means they’re going to eventually deal Robert and surely get three starting outfielders back. Surely from the Cards, who wanted him so much originally. We just need Adolis Garcia Arozarena and Jordan Walker in equivalency.

Compiled list of Chris Getz GM failures
Completely botching Robert and Crochet. Doing the worst possible job in MLB history of building a bullpen from scratch. (He does have the amazing Tanner Banks trade lol.) Not stopping the Burger for Eder trade somehow. Being completely on board with all the Royals they imported, particularly Grifol Watson and their contracts guy. Contracts guy and Getz couldn’t have gotten a more sub optimal result with Crochet if they had 100 different scenarios to attempt to get it right. DeLoach Berroa hasn’t exactly set the known world on fire. Return on Cease was just as light as Fedde. And Thorpe of all pitchers with his 91-92 mph FB still sidelined. Not taking Cags #5 when you have zero stud franchise hitters in the entire system. Every single AL Central farm system other than KC running rings around you…when development in supposedly your ONE area of expertise. Poor eye contact with Stone in game interview. Colas and Ramos botched completely. Moncada and Jimenez coddled. Luis Robert goes from Mike Trout Lite to virtually untradable under his watch. Quote In baseball, Bill Veeck famously said "I don't mind the high price of stardom. I just don't like the high price of mediocrity." If ever there were a term to summarize the flaws in Hahn's and Getz's roster construction, it's that quote.

Reported. Ron883 also tried to make the Cubs a thing the last couple of years as he lost Abreu to complain about. Also for trying to provoke Greg775 into political commentary.

George Brett 1980 almost .400 hitter rules….Stratomatic version, and Omar Moreno on the basepaths.

29. Marlins (previously: 29) Season high: 23 | Season low: 30 Jake Burger had 10 homers in 72 games before the All-Star break. With another homer on Sunday, he now has 12 in the 22 games since the All-Star break. Since the ASG, he has roughly the same OPS that Ted Williams had his entire career. Keep this up for the next 15 years, Jake, heck, you’ll be in the Hall of Fame! mlb.com

Getz interview...
1994 strike self-induced destruction by owners 2020-21 Covid/revenue shortfalls when they should have been selling out leads to Benentendi and Crochet for Red Sox B/C prospects…maybe Bailey Horn return 2030 what calamity is next around the corner?

Seems a lot like China. Minus the better infrastructure, high speed trains and internet speeds.

Not even Getz is THAT bad. Hopefully. As of right now, he’s your best returning hitter, pending whatever happens with Vaughn and Robert.

Benintendi
For even dollars and because SS is the leader of that infield and we don’t have one. Clearly the best defender of all possibilities (compared to incoming rookies), but do you really want him as your team leader? At this point, at least Benintendi has reconciled himself to fate and knows playing better is the only way out unless Red Sox get overly sentimental about a return engagement. https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/free-agents/_/year/2025/position/ss/sort/contract_value There’s the bleak list. Kim will likely stay in SD and Adames out of their price range.

Can’t believe how shell shocked USNWT looks that first half of basketball. Sleep walking. So many turnovers, and shockingly getting killed on the boards with all that talent on the court. Reeve looks like she is losing her composure…that kind of play is setting the WNBA back. If France can stay close through three, anything is possible. Even more annoyed now with no Clark because both Ionescu and Taurasi didn’t even play. For the life of me, Ionescu is the superior player to Plum, it’s bizarre how Coach Reeve can’t see that. Heck, they even could have used Angel Reese to at least battle for rebounds…and not a Reese fan, but she’s a fighter and a battler out there when the going gets down. Play Ionescu Jewell Loyd and Lisa Leslie!

8/10 Sox vs. Cubs 6:15PM
McCarthy over Fletcher isn’t even the main point. It’s just the total lack of a vision for the org…which is finding projectable highly athletic up the middle talent and allocating it across the diamond instead of the backwards approach of the White Sox. Hate AJ Preller all you want, but he decided to try to build a killer bullpen like Hahn in 2021-22 and executed that plan flawlessly after not doing enough at the deadline last year. Traded 6/12 top prospects in doing so. In fact, Tanner Scott will even be a free agent at the end of this season. They basically had to cut nearly $150 million in payroll, get past the highly popular team owner’s death and are now getting more production from King Vazquez Higashioka combined than Soto last year and have even managed to survive and even thrive without Tatis Musgrove and Darvish. Consistently Top 3-4 in MLB attendance despite having their media rights deal decapitated and being in one of the 2-3 smallest media markets. Cease has been what some or many feared. Jackson Merrill has shifted seamlessly from SS to CF as one of the youngest players in all of baseball. Profar Estrada (struggling recently) Solano Peralta have all made considerable contributions and were better moves than any that Getz and Barfield made, with the singular exception of Fedde. Which has now basically been thrown away by the looks of it based on early returns from Vargas. And SD throughout has also maintained its position as an attractive FA destination. Not to mention they have survived trading Wood Abrams and Gore…with James Wood looking like he could be a potential star and CJ quite close already. Remember his draft year discussions/debates? Of course they have just won 16/18, but the resilience has been everything the Sox are not, and comeback winners consistently despite being the very worst in baseball at it last year. “Padres Rant” TM out of the way for now…

Wilson next? Sizemore might be worse than Grifol… Lee and Robert are broken clocks at this point. Maybe more Sox pitchers need to throw their gloves into the stands like Lopez with the Mets…

Vargas 3/36…this seems familiar. Fletcher Special.

Benintendi might be the best hitter on the team next year. Gulp. Let that sink in for a minute. And try to sell that to potential season ticket buyers.
