  1. Two best prospects? Well, Schultz is going to have to prove he can stay healthy for at least 120 innings in a single season and Quero's going to have to hit for at least 15-18 homers per season. Those in the know are not willing to give up based on two months of a season.
  2. Interestingly, this generation of rebuilds (post Houston/Cubs/KC) has by and large been a pretty massive failure. The Blue Jays, White Sox and Padres. None of them made the World Series...with SD coming the closest in 2022 and the Blue Jays having three playoff appearances but almost nothing to show for it. The Mets are kind of the poster child now for spending big money but not completely rebuilding from scratch. We'll see how well that works out for them. Unlike the White Sox, who have had singular contracts like Danks and now Benintendi sink the franchise, they have the ability/willingness to spend over mistakes.
  3. “I love the Bulls, I love the White Sox — unfortunately — but when you go to a game you feel like you’re just a number,” Eric Nemchock said. “When I go to a Sky game, I feel like I’m part of something. It sounds kind of weird, but I feel like I’m a part of the team. I feel like I’m a part of a fanbase in which I can be who I am authentically.” The accessibility of being a Sky fan went further than just the price and location of games. It also reflected the availability of players. The team holds an annual meet-and-greet for season ticket holders that allows the opportunity for fans to speak one-on-one with their favorite athletes, a rarity among professional sports. And Sky players were often active on social media, interacting with fans and making themselves consistently available for their top supporters. The result was a tightly knit relationship between fans and players, something the most invested fans cherished as a crucial aspect of their relationship with the team. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/chicago-sky-fans-temper-newfound-013600715.html Basically, it's word for word the way that most minor league baseball fans describe their relationships with the local teams/players. Maybe that's lost a little bit with each step up, AA/AAA certainly have a different feel than a short season or A level team.
  4. 1932 Boston Red Sox First: 11-44 Final record: 43-111 The 1932 team had one of the worst starts to a season until the 2023 A’s came along. Boston set a franchise record for the lowest winning percentage in a season at .279. In addition, Boston scored 556 runs while allowing 915, a run differential of -349, the worst in MLB’s modern era. Each of the team’s top seven relievers posted a 5.00 ERA or higher. The 1932 season was a low point for owner Harry Frazee. The following year, he sold the team to Tom Yawkey, who oversaw better fortunes. Jimmie Foxx, Lefty Grove, and Joe Cronin would be on their way soon enough to Boston. 1899 Cleveland Spiders are out of reach though....something like a 700+ RS/RA differential. Current White Sox RS/RA pace -348 Record=-349
  5. Lee must not be a huge fan, lol. I mean, they absolutely left him out to dry last year when he was struggling so badly he should have been anywhere but a big league diamond. Then this year, they obviously gave up on him with the Stassi and Maldonado signings...the only reason he got the opportunity was Stassi's health/not being ready to catch after so much time off.
  6. We can't even alternate strong offensive seasons like the Guardians are somehow managing.
  7. Well, Fletcher now at a .496 ops. Sigh.
  8. Or one with tons of pitching injuries, desperate and financially constrained.
  9. Is Wrigley actually easier to mash in than GRF?
  10. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/bulls-supposedly-don-t-want-165711194.html Is this really a thing? Not trading with LA or helping LeBron's legacy in order to protect MJ as the GOAT? Sounds just about petty enough from JR to be real.
  11. Maybe if the White Sox paid his entire salary and agreed to a C prospect in return.
  12. Only $49 million left to go.
  13. I guess I should stay up all night in China and post this thought immediately...rather than waiting until after another blown saves with more gopher balls flying out. You could use my extend Crochet/Kopech thread against me...but growing numbers want to extend Garrett.
  14. He's not the definition of a busted top prospect and a busted starting pitcher? And his last two games out of the pen?
  15. Orioles rotation already dinged up. They really needed to add two starters after shedding Gibson/Flaherty and with the general uncertainty after Barnes with all the injuries and comebacks.
  16. Does that get anything near a Top 80-120 MiLB list? Maybe... Hopefully better than Fletcher/DeLoach/Colas. He certainly has the stuff out of the pen, but the head's pretty close to Bummer in terms of dealing with adversity.
  17. Like Borchard for Matt Thornton. Kelenic to ATL.
  18. Haven't even the Japanese started to learn their lessons with how they abuse pitchers in that annual tournament in Osaka? Sasaki is definitely being protected more.
  19. Or....now the Royals are much better without him Getz Watson etc. Coincidence?
  20. And not exactly cheap due to his time with StL and SF.
  21. You can cross Kopech off the A list, but now is as good a time as any to send him off on one of those change of scenery trades.
  22. Trade Pham before everyone realizes he's a DH. Probably too late for that.
  23. Guardians 33-17 Royals Nation 33-19
  24. Reminiscent of Acuna in that regard...obviously ATL has a much deeper lineup.
