  1. Life will go back to normal when summer vacation is over again on Friday...lol.
  2. "He’s the kind of guy who knows what’s expected from various roles on an MLB coaching staff, and that kind of knowledge will help him connect and get the most out of his staff in Chicago. He’s also widely respected by players, especially Spanish-speaking players from Latin America (Grifol is fluent in Spanish). Considering so much of the talent in MLB hails from that part of the world (including the White Sox) that kind of skill set is invaluable, especially from a manager’s perspective." Yet here we are with our last three managers having the ability to speak fluent Spanish...and dealing with or "controlling" the core Spanish players has become the heart of the Sox storyline during this rebuild. Obviously Anderson has a part to play...but the shifting away from Abreu/Giolito/Hendriks as team leaders and perhaps Lynn to a rudderless ship can't be denied any longer. The failure to cut the cancers out largely for financial reasons in the cases of Grandal and Moncada. Trading away Burger to avoid third base controversy for 2024 when Moncada might not even play a single inning...or the constant fear of moving Yoan to any other position on the field. If the sleeping rookie is Santos...you've basically got an entire clubhouse culture where the Latin players feel they have an extra layer or protection or entitlement...which is ironically symbolized now by Tim Anderson, whose actions have further divided the team into three camps: white players, Latin players and Tim Anderson. Pretty much the exact opposite of what they'd successfully created around Renteria...and was still relatively "fine" until LaRussa turned on the Terminator after the Twins' homer and things have never been as loose and relaxed from that point onwards.
  3. https://www.soxon35th.com/royals-writers-share-their-opinions-on-pedro-grifol/ https://kingsofkauffman.com/2022/10/07/kc-royals-thinking-pedro-grifol/ Ruhde: "Initially, I’m a bit surprised that this is the route the White Sox took. It seems from an outsider’s perspective that the White Sox made this hire without going through a particularly rigorous managerial search, and I’ve certainly seen the argument that there are likely candidates with more thorough qualifications that didn’t end up being a final candidate for whatever reason. I don’t necessarily think they rushed the decision, but I wonder whether Grifol is clearly the best option at this point. Even with the team’s struggles this year, I would imagine that there’s an allure to the job of managing the White Sox that would attract some of the best candidates."
  4. Clearly losing the biggest percentage of 2022 MLB attendance and more than likely season ticket holders as well hasn't gotten through to them quite yet...except for higher pressure sales tactics and tricking fans into renewals with small print that's a pain for fans to undo and get refunded once auto-renewed.
  5. Who was the sleeping rookie is the only unresolved part of the mystery...those three names have been out there for ages and ages.
  6. Francona said Anderson had been chirping at first baseman Gabriel Arias all night. And after his actions caused so much frustration in Cleveland’s clubhouse the night before, the Guardians had no interest in hearing more from the shortstop. “I know that Anderson was yelling at Arias because the umpire went and told him to knock it off,” Francona said. “[Anderson] said some things he probably shouldn’t have.” mlb.com So exactly who should be defending/protecting two rookies on the Guardians from a well-known vet on another team? Francona? He's rich, too...relatively speaking. The umpires failed to control things.
  7. Cohen seems to be holding himself accountable and legitimately building a long term foundation through his farm system. And has apologized to fans more than once...at least he's quickly come to that realization playing in a division stacked with Atl and Philly.
  8. Probably a badge of honor for Keuchel Kelly and Lynn now to disassociate from the Sox... What would be shocking would be for Lucas to say anything negative going into his FA...especially with how he has pitched so far for LA.
  9. If it is Santos and he's your future closer...it just goes to show how far they are away from Liam Hendriks leading that bullpen by example. Or it says something about the quality of pitchers down there that he's running laps around them with let's say at best a questionable work ethic.
  10. Like Peralta Padilla Cronin? Lambert might be closer again if Santos gets sucked into the "sleeping rookie in the bullpen" media vortex....
  11. Burger and Remillard and Scholtens have been just a few of the players who really care and then it's almost like a bad thing to be punished for on this team if you hustle all the time and play like a real professional baseball player is supposed to...like it's showing up the vets who are basically just kind of coasting along and collecting paychecks and not rocking the boat so to speak. Grandal should have been DFA'ed if they wanted to send a real message about accountability ... because no other teams were willing to pay to employ his services. How long is it before Colas is dragged down into the abyss...it has to be fixed before C.Montgomery is recalled in approximately 18 months (April/May 2025) or earlier.
  12. https://nypost.com/2023/08/06/white-sox-tim-anderson-breaks-silence-on-jose-ramirez-brawl/ Probably don't want to read the comments unless you want to see this turned into another version of Angel Reese vs. Josh Donaldson/Caitlyn Clark bringing back past "hard tags" controversies... For real...for real. It seems Tim just wants to take on the the whole world these days. Whereas another player (Tatis) has kind of embraced playing the role of the heel and having fun with getting booed ...Anderson is taking all of this way too seriously and it's simply fueling the fire to make things worse and keep the story alive now that the NY media has gotten involved. Part of it's obviously due to Keeynan Middleton as well as the fact that the Chicago media doesn't or can't hold anyone in the Sox organization accountable. It's going to be one of these deals like Zuckerberg vs. Musk where Tim wants a rematch or is only going to end up getting hurt in real life proving how much of a real man he is...when the team is on the road, it's almost inevitable out in public somebody is going to try to "square up with him" or provoke him while out at a club in order to go viral on social media.
  13. “I wouldn’t say anything bad about the pitching staff,” Middleton said. “We went about our work the right way. I think the rest of the team struggled to do the right thing.” Pedro Grifol landed the White Sox job because of his reputation for being a good communicator. After losing the locker room within his first year of managing it is clear he is in over his head. It's pretty clear that they haven't gotten serious about dealing with bad attitudes from the position player side when only Abreu and Burger are the ones that are gone...
  14. Abreu Keuchel Kelly Lynn...one of those guys will be next to clear the air.
  15. It was the tag on Rocchio the game before…and bullying Arias verbally to where the umpires had to tell him to knock it off.
  16. “By Paul Hoynes, cleveland.com CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The legend of Jose Ramirez continues to grow in Cleveland. The Guardians lost to the White Sox Saturday night, 7-4, but Ramirez knocked Tim Anderson on his rear end at second base with a haymaker that would have done Muhammad Ali proud. That was the highlight of a 14-minute brawl between the two teams in the sixth inning at Progressive Field.” The story will only get more play if the Guardians miss out on the postseason as Ramirez will surely get at least a 5-7 day suspension…if not even a bit longer before appealed down due to first offense.
  17. Creating a diversion for the team’s poor play…instilling hope and positive PR.
  18. See Lynn in LA, as every scout predicted. Just get him away from the Sox clubhouse and he’ll be just fine.
  19. Different/previous game. I'll try to find the replay. https://www.mlb.com/video/brayan-rocchio-doubles-1-on-a-line-drive-to-right-fielder-trayce-thompson?cp=MIXED&p=0&q=PlayerId %3D [677587] Order By Timestamp DESC The CLE argument was that if infielders start pushing runners' hands off the bags on slides by chopping at their hand/wrist then someone's going to get hurt eventually. Also, Anderson seemingly picking on rookies like Rocchio and Arias in this series.
  20. Lance Lynn 2-0 lol
  21. Now we will get at least one more week of suspended Anderson making Twitter headlines daily while Jose Ramirez quietly lets it go. Probably will go to NYC to appeal since he has to prove that he's right or justified... https://bossip.com/2403103/tim-anderson-jose-ramirez-knockout-fight/
